If you learn Mesmer patterns this becomes dare I say easy but feels very doable. This applies to the final boss as well but it is still extremely difficult because of artificial Difficulty and sheer bullshiteru but both fights are definitely learnable
Pretty much, although my second playthrough boss fights turned out to be amazing so far (except rellana) Dancing Lion was such a vibe, and since there are people like me who can’t get mad at Messmer, he is also going to be very fun. And the rest of the dlc is just suffering basically😭

If those things are good I usually don’t care how many times I die😭but even if Gaius and hippo are easier, I still find them worse because they are just boring as hell. Strength builds are super op. I did first run with faith build and it was really hard but now I'm doing strength and its really easy. Divine beast fell on second time and rellana on third with only one skadutree upgrade. Of course, since it is second playthrough, I already knew their movesets.

I had 5 characters prepped to run through the DLC, the first I used was pure strength, I've not finished the run, but so far I been wondering why everyone says it is too hard, for me doing the pure strength build, it feels more like a NG+7 base game difficulty to me. when I get to some of my more weaker builds I'll cry then I guess.

@@Triggermangravy mesmer gets a lot easier when you understand that 90% of the time you need to stick to him, which makes sense given he has long range weapon. Rolling backwards will only make it easier for him to catch you
You actually played that fight alot cleaner than I did, even if you did die more than me...I was all over the place, but I had so much bleed damage that it just melted him when I did hit him...
I just did Messmer this evening. Took me around 50 min. At 9/6 blessings. Used the meteoric oreblade and a cold Uchigatana with chilling mist. No buffs. I was like was this it, is this what all been buzzing about? Nahh it has to be a secret second HP bar. But no.
They front loaded the scadutree blessing in a patch so you are doing way more damage at 9 than launch...I did him at 5 blessings at launch and it was tough!
@brucepreston3927 way more, its like 6%. I didnt use buffs so im basically at pre patch levels. All the broken builds that where available pre patch 1.13 is also gone now. The dlc is harder than at release. Great of you to do it at scadu 5 if you didnt use a broken build 👍

I am not a good Souls and Elden Ring player. Takes me 100-150h for a single playthrough of these games. I encountered Messmer when I was Scadu Seed lvl.10. I summoned the Horn-guy, because I am interested in his quest line. Messmer nearly died on only my 3rd try. I got my saved killed because I didn't want the fight to be over so easily, especially after all the hype. But I struggled horribly with the lion Head beast....

the pattern is pretty consistent, you just need to spot it early and either get out of there or time it.
