New Variable Valve Timing Solenoid from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ib/1AZM...
This video shows you how to install a variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid on your 1997-2001 Lexus ES300. If the variable valve timing solenoid in your vehicle is stuck or clogged, causing your engine to not run properly, you may notice reduced fuel efficiency, sputtering, rough running or stalling in your engine. Solenoids usually need to be replaced once they begin to fail.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    1997 Lexus ES300
    1998 Lexus ES300
    1999 Lexus ES300
    2000 Lexus ES300
    2001 Lexus ES300
    Tools you will need:
    • 10mm Socket 1aau.to/oe/1AXA...
    • Locking Pliers 1aau.to/oa/1AXA...
    • Needle nose pliers 1aau.to/oa/1AXA...

    Good video, thanks for posting.
A few tips that helped me out tremendously:
1: Give the connectors a small shot of WD40 the night before the job, they will disconnect just fine without breaking / cracking.
2: The solenoid towards the firewall will come out just fine without removing the hoses, long flathead screwdrivers to unclip the connection. No need to crack hoses and make a bigger problem.
3: If only one code is indicating one bad solenoid and you replace both, save the good one for later as the new one will eventually fail since they are all made in China.

Am I the only one who hates stock hose clamps? Anytime I take one off I replace it with screw type, much easier to get undone in tight places. Great video, good lighting, good angles. Loved the ziptie idea to secure broken wire connectors, the clips tend to break on these cars after they age, the plastic gets brittle

I am reminded that I am grateful to live in an area without salted roads.

Don't use pliers to remove connectors. They will come off easily with your fingers. I had to wire in a new connector for mine because someone broke it and zip tied it before and I don't like that.
