  • Overnight trip to a spoil island on the Indian River Lagoon. I do a catch, clean, and cook with a jack crevalle, it was much better than you would think! Also, cook a pork belly with okra dish from scratch. . #primitivekayakcamping #primitivecamping #indianriverlagoon #catchcleanandcook #trashfish #camping #kayakcamping #campingcooking
A big thanks to Phil, a cool guy I met on the water. Phil took these awesome drone clips for me, truly grateful!

Agreed! But it was not my drone, met a really nice guy out on the water who was kind enough to shoot and send those over to me. Definitely gonna look into getting a drone now for sure!

Great video! You also make ten minutes go by in less than a second. Thanks for sharing! Next time, show us that big catch before it gets away 😂

I’ve eaten Jack before. Not great but if bleed out well and then soaked in milk overnight and then breaded and fried it was decent.
I’ve eaten sailcat too and was pleasantly surprised. Again not great but not terrible. Haven’t tried hardheads yet but Victor at Landshark’s video made me briefly consider it

Hey @alex, I definitely wouldn't go out and target jacks to eat, but it really wasn't too bad. I tried a hardhead on a camping trip because of Victor, and I actually really enjoyed it (He makes everything look tasty!). Breaded and fried it tasted like pretty much any other catfish I've had. Thanks for watching!

Love your videos! Keep it up. I hope to be able to camp on a spoil island soon .. what's the capacity of your kayak? What kind of gear do you bring?

Hey there, thanks for watching and for the support! Kayak's weight capacity is 350. Tent, sleeping pad, pillow, cooking tools, a few misc accessories, and of course fishing gear! I will do a video here soon showing my camping gear, etc. Thanks again and hope you get a chance to do that trip out to the spoil islands sometime soon!

There is a kayak launch launch right on the corner of US 1 and Rocky Point Road where I launched out of.
Sorry for the delayed reply and thanks for watching!
