- Eating Whatever I Catch while Fishing miles out at a secluded beach! We head out to go saltwater beach fishing in North Florida to attempt to catch something to catch and cook! We have a bag full of shrimp, a bait sucker to hopefully find ghost shrimp, and a bag full of artificial bait and tackle. Today we're going to attempt to catch a species of fish that has been troublesome for us in the past.. our first ever keeper pompano! The water temp is heating up.. the fishing should be heating up.. What kind of fish would be around the surf during the spring this time of year?? We attempt to catch clean and cook whatever we hook into.. I did not expect for this to happen..

I’m not trying to be a hater or something but bro please learn how to fish Florida has the easiest fishing ever and you still don’t catch much plz do better 😢
@@Jai.money. I'm not trying to be a hater neither but giving instructions show him🤫
Trout
My brother, I pray to the almighty that everything is ok with your health. Stay positive my man, peace and blessings.
I love all the videos bro, but you gotta step up the cook skills. Try different fish dishes, cook on a grill or over the camp fire, or even your oven. I guarantee you will get more likes and subscribers. I do like the outdoor cook on this video.
Have to agree, the cooking is extremely underwhelming lol
At least make a meal.
@@Gambitbeerthats because he doesnt want to make it a meal. he wants to taste it and thats it. odds are he probably throws out immediately whatever he doesnt eat on cam
Nah bro the videos are. Perfect! Keep being yourself
😮The videos are great but as for cooking bro he's not that bad, I've seen some real absolute butchers just absolutely ruin a beautiful fresh trout etc... he might use the same technique for cooking but at least he doesn't completely ruin the fish he catches
Good stuff, Mike!! Thanks for taking us along!!!
Good luck with the Dr. Stay positive and keep fishing
Praying for you big bro, another great video thanks for letting all of us come fishing with you.
Wishing you the best in your procedure. I have been watching your videos for years!

Good job man, good job! Didn't give up!
“Just us, the water, and a dream” Never have truer words been said from a fisherman🥹😂

Whatever you're going through health wise, make sure to get it taken care of. Always put you first and I'll be praying for you brother! Hoping for a speedy recovery!
Always get excited when I see you’ve dropped a new video. I’m no expert, but maybe try getting the shrimp out in the wash. Lots of love!
Dang, I just knew you were going to get that keeper pomp! Speedy recovery 👍
Hopefully soon!
Always fun to watch. Best wishes!
Hey if your ever near the shores in St Augustine I have a sweet residencal pier I could let you use the pass!
I'll be there soon. Can I use it?
Enjoy watching your vids bud and Godspeed with the procedure 🙏🏻 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
Hope you have a speedy recovery my dude! Love the videos but you gotta take time off when you need it.
Another cool video my friend, I love your channel, especially the catch and cooks. You will definitely be in my prayers and I'm sure everything will go smoothly my brother 🙏, God bless!!!
So crazy how people in Florida don't seem to like eating bluefish. I grew up going out on my dad's boat, fishing, catching, and eating them all the time. Yum!
I caught a big one down in Florida by big I mean big for the pier I was on it was like 4 pounds they get way bigger but regardless I ate him and he was fairly tasty. Did not understand the bluefish distain it was a good tasting fish.
Us in FL. Use them for bait . Of course we have much better tasting fish that the north does not have.snook, grouper, snapper, pompano, ect
God bless you and may your health get better. Love the vids dude.
Praying for you man❤️
Nice Mike, weather getting warmer here in Delaware, just tons of rain and winds, be safe
Sent prayers for you.. wish you the best.
You're a good guy, prayers for your recovery.
Love your vids man! Keep it up 👍 😂
Good stuff man
Surf Perch, Striper, Spanish Mackeral and occasionally Halibut can be fished in the surf and sometimes off the pier.
praying for a speedy recovery my boy.
please make some more pier fishing vids (love your content im a huge fan!)
Absolutely love your videos, good luck with your health issues.
Love your videos
Great video. It's awesome to see that you're foot is doing better.
Thanks yeah it’s so nice being able to walk haha
Be strong 💪 brother love your videos
Good luck with the health issues. Sending prayers
Love your vids . I am in a quest for Pompano myself. But I live in the New England 😊
Omg the magic string my fav, here’s a tip you can also use it for chicken liver for catfish it don’t hurt them it just helps keep the bait on
Awesome video brother i heard some guys use steelhead rods in the surf for pompano , whiting gives you both length and sensitivity
Hey brother, thanks for letting us in on your situation. Just know that we are all praying for your health and well-being..thanks for all the videos..I really like the little SpongeBob phrases you drop😂
Nice job on the surf!!!! Great lookin fish. Weather has finally broke here in good ole Delaware...Minnows are on the edges and the Bass should be bustin loose!!!! Speediest of Recovery to you and your health....Great video Mike!!!!
First time I saw a us fisherman using bait elastic, I wouldn’t go fishing without it always at least 2 rolls in my car at any given time
I miss your Delaware fresh water fishing days
Coming back to DE soon! Gonna film a ton!
hope the procedure goes good brother. good luck!
Good luck Mike. Focus on your health and we will see the next video when you can put it out.
Daddy Pomp, now that is a message everyone can get behind. Get the merch line ready for when it finally happens.
my favorite saltwater fish to eat is whitting. they started biting good this year in march.
Blues are honestly good fish Catch a ton all the time up here at broadkill. Big ones too
Bro i been following your channel for years.Im glad to see your still going out there and getting it! I would also but need a new baitcaster reel. Any recommendations?
Look into the rods they use for steelhead trout. They make great surf rods for pompano and whiting.
Good luck on your surgery. Your dog is adorable. Pompano and whiting are my 2 favorite fish..it's delicious. You should try the cat fish deep fried it's yummy too!!!!
Awesome and congrats on the first pomp of the year🎉 I was out there that same day you were out there I got one keeper pomp that was 16” to the fork… definitely a lot easier getting to those spots with the E-Bikes gonna have to invest in one soon… keep up the great videos
Great Day!😊
“Idk, im just a guy with a bait sucker” 😂 glad you caught what you wanted, keeper or not!
Hope for the best on your procedure
Love your videos been watching since I was 16 and I’m now 22 haha when your surf fishing you should take a rubber mallet to put your rod holders in 😊
I do mostly surf fishing. You’re right about the white water and the deeper water but I would have fished maybe twenty feet to the left on the edge of that structure. Fishing the edges is always best imo.
Hope all goes well on your Doctor visit Bud 🙏
Mike you missed it Monday on the pier. Pompano bite was on fire!
Wow, wish you the best for your health. Praying 🙏 for you. A lot of times as you first wade out into the surf, the amount of minnows and stuff will dictate how fishy the area is. 💯 percent agree where there is run off from beach back into surf is a great spot. Tight lines
I love the videos just started following: I have no luck with Surf casting so glad to see you learning as well. I build my own fishing rods, something you might wanna look into. Cause I built mine to be lightweight but heavy enough to handle whatever comes our way
Dang going to the doctor sucks for me too man. Hope you power through💪
Nice job. Did better than me near Jacksonville. Keep it up.
What part of Florida are u in?
Good Luck bro
Do a catch and cook taste test with one of those hard head catfish
im legit on the same journey. but ive been working so much i can only go at low tide after 5 pm. all whites and catfish
First of thanks for the videos man. And i hope they figure out what is going on with you in the health department. Prayers and hoping for nothing to serious!!!
Hope all goes well !
Thanks for the great video! I've ben living in NC for over 30 years and have limited my fishing to fresh water but am really interested in saltwater especially surf fishing. Didn't have anyone to show me how until my granddaughter married an outstanding young man who has a lot of experience at it. We'll see! I'll just have to learn the seasons for the different species and size limits. I hope your procedure goes well and I'll pray for you, so keep us posted!
Amazing❤😂
This is the way I should try down in the big island hawaii
3 days camp on the beach sounds like a good video 👀
That’s a huge beach
For pompano fishing, I use 9 foots. If you want an affordable 9 foot. There's the ugly stick and penn combo.
Great videos mate.
Just a personal preference suggestion, I love the sound of a reel screaming and the fight to get the catch wound in.
I find that there’s something off putting about having music covering that sound.
I very well might be alone on that opinion, however I’ll put it out there to be heard.
Love the videos mate,
Cheers from Australia
Yooo I love the salt water videos but please go catch a peconk bass!!!!!
I hope you the best what's your procedure and I hope to see more videos from you soon...
Whenever you get a bite on your hook set your drag then after feel for another bite and then set the hook you could have gotten a couple more fish if you set the hook
You caught the change in tide best time to fish The bummy stick is a good surf rod..... Beach bum outdoors
Or Fitzgerald rods
Put the bait on the hook, then put the fish bites on. Works well. Especially with clams. Nice vid!🎣
Nice video! Where can I get those sunglasses? They are nice!
Love the vids FirstState, you're awesome! Me and my girlfriend are going to Florida in June. Super stoked to do some fishing. I already got a 6'6'' medium ugly stik/penn pursuitIV 4000 for one setup. I still need one setup to do some general beach/jetty fishing and I've always wondered about your setups. Got any recommendations?
I’ve heard that salmon. Steelhead rods are pretty good for pompano. I have a 9 foot 6 Okuma SST (medium light) that I use for surf perch, and halibut here in California and I love it! Very sensitive but still has enough backbone to handle larger, hard fighting fish. casts really nice with light stuff too! The biggest fish I caught on it so far was a 34 inch halibut.
I was getting ready to type get some magic thread..... Use magic thread on shrimp also
Try ballyhoos next time, using size 2 Mustad demon perfect circle hooks
Yo I just noticed we live on the same country and at the same pier in Florida bro every time I go to the pier you go to I always say is first state going to be here and then I look everywhere 😂I really hope to meet you one day it’s a dream❤❤
Whatever is going on with your health get that taken care of first. All of your supporters will still be here. Awesome video as usual. You catch a lot of blues. I would like to see a catch and cook with them.
What lb test do you use on your rods for beach fishing? How often do you change your line out? It would seem to me the salt and sand would be abrasive on your line and make it brittle.
Another thing that actually helps toughness mainly but also sometimes helps bites is leaving the heads on the shrimp haha
Hey just a friendly thing of advice on your DIY PVC shrimp sucker 1000. If you can make everything tighter like your plunger system, as you pull up you will create more suction one 1 pull, might have better success. Good luck to ya!
Made another vid!!🔥🔥🔥
So I'm no expert but I also tie my own pomp rigs and I think you need some floats for those hooks. Help keep your bait off the bottom. Thanks for the vid, tight lines!
Fish n mate makes an arm that lets you tow their surf cart with a bike
Screw the negative assholes. Keep doing what you're doing.. And will keep watching. Don't change who you are
We call that bait a yabbie in Australia, pump them with yabbie pumps and you feed them on the hook from the tail and follow the body with the hook and have the , ps you need to pump better push and pull together
I run a penn pursuit 4 size 8000 reel 12 foot. Its like 100 bucks on amazon. And a penn battle 12 foot 6000 reel
Sand fleas and fish gum seem to be the recommended bait on other channels.
Those lil stuff you picked up can eat
In Australia your ghost shrimp is known as a yabbie or more commonly in NSW as a nipper.
You need a cross handle on your pump to be able to pump fast. Speed is important. So is depth.
We can buy excellent stainless steel bait pumps and the bait caught is simply the best.
If you have nippers, you will have fish.
