I’m thinking about getting that skiff when I get my new suv. Do you have a 6hp on it yet? Is the deck slippery? You are the only person on TH-cam that has vids of this skiff as far as I can see. I recently sub’d and enjoy the videos. It would be cool to see a review of the skiff if you haven’t already done one.

    • @campingwithchopsticks

Hey @inwheellife533, I appreciate you watching and the support! I did upgrade from the 2 1/2 to the 6hp Suzuki outboard, I wouldn't go with anything else other than a 6hp. The deck is not slippery at all. I only fish on it standing and I feel very stable (I am 6ft and 200lb for reference). I could not recommend this solo skiff enough, I am super happy with it! Good idea on the review of the skiff, I will certainly do one here soon. Thanks again and all the best!

Hey @Markchance08. I was between this one and the SOLO skiff before purchasing. Although I haven't tried the SOLO, my experience with this one has been a very good one. In regards to a wet ride, when the water is calm and winds are below 10mph, I have stayed dry. This week I was on it when the winds were 20mph and I am not going to lie, i was soaked lol! I would reccommend it, especially for the price, it is a great bang for the buck. I have no regrets. Thanks for watching Mark!

I’ve eaten Jack before. Not great but if bleed out well and then soaked in milk overnight and then breaded and fried it was decent. I’ve eaten sailcat too and was pleasantly surprised. Again not great but not terrible. Haven’t tried hardheads yet but Victor at Landshark’s video made me briefly consider it

Hey @alex, I definitely wouldn't go out and target jacks to eat, but it really wasn't too bad. Is there any add on a that you have done that are fantastic or don’t do it? I just ordered this boat and just wandering about motor. In Ormond Beach so will be targeting similar area’s like Halifax n Matanzas River

Hey, @garyknight8620, honestly the 2 1/2 HP was not enough and I do not recommend it. I actually upgraded to the Suzuki 6 HP outboard and it works much better and very happy with the change! Not any add-ons, but I do plan on putting a fish finder/depth finder on soon. I think it would be perfect for where you are trying to fish, maybe we can get out there together one day. Thanks for watching and all the best!

Does one need a permit to stay overnight and do this?

Hey @Z33Garage, yes you do a need a permit to camp out on the lagoon. I have attached a link below where you can get one. It is not the cheapest but worth it for sure. Thanks for watching and hope you get out there! www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/251854

After watching your video, I decided to go here. I went with a couple of friends and stayed at site number 3. We got completely destroyed by Noseeums. I never going back that was horrible lol.

@penguin36, for what it is worth, I did mention the noseeums a few times 😄. I agree they can be brutal. I try to avoid the summer months camping here because of them. Hopefully it does not derail you from getting back out there or somewhere else. Thanks for watching and best of luck next time. Appreciate you watching!

You just have to go at the right time of year. Plan accordingly.
