The Momentum Harness by Black Diamond is a comfortable, well-built, and affordable climbing harness for novices or pros and everyone in between. Black Diamond’s innovative and thoughtful design make this an easy to adjust, quick to put on, and comfortable choice whether you’re heading out on a multi-pitch climb or just doing short climbs at your local crag.
One of my favorite features of the Momentum is the pre-threaded Speed Adjust waistbelt buckle. Not only is it a super fast harness to get into, the buckle assures that you won’t make an error when you’re tying in. You’re always double-backed, no matter what.
The comfort level of this harness is above par in my opinion. The Dual Core construction of the waistbelt helps to distribute weight evenly and widely throughout the waist. Inside the abrasion resistant nylon shell there is not only a CLPE foam insert, but also two bands of webbing throughout. The foam is supportive while the two bands of webbing distribute weight. The liner of the waistbelt is a breathable, soft, and quick drying fabric. I’m a very hot and sweaty person so I don’t feel as though it’s quite a fair review of how well the fabric breaths. I still get pretty hot when wearing this harness on 80 degree days however, I don’t really feel as though any harness would really eliminate my sweat.
I absolutely love the molded gear loops. They make accessing your gear so easy and eliminate mistakes and moments of fumbling when you’re in a less than ideal situation. The haul loop in the back works well for a chalk bag-at least that’s what I’ve used it for thus far, all though it will allow your chalk bag to sit lower.
Between the molded gear loops, the ease of the Speed Adjust buckle, and the comfort of the double core construction, the Momentum is my go-to harness for any climbing that I find myself doing. Considering the price, I’m really in awe of the fact that I didn’t upgrade earlier. There’s no question in my mind when I slip this harness on that I’m protected! The quality of materials, attention to detail, and simple but important features are not reflective in the price, which is by far a huge benefit for climbers around the world. Whether you’re a beginner climber or you’ve been climbing for years, the Momentum Harness has everything you need and all the comfort you’ll enjoy.

If you have to choose between the momentum 3S and the Petzl Adjama, what would you choose?

I've not tried the Petzl so I don't have a good opinion on that.

Hello, I would like to know how much you bought this model, because I am 72 waist and 46 cm in leg. I was planning on taking it in size S but I wanted to know which one you took to decide me ^^

      @@oso667 I think it's a great harness, especially for the price. For reference I have a 34'' (86.36cm) waist.

Can you use the hull loop for rappelling face down?
