Calling the Pokemons' source of power "PP" is certainly up there with the worst. I've never been able to keep a straight face when using "PP Up" in game.
Mother did it first (though it was Psychic Points, not Power Points).
Dead Rising as well ("Photo Points")
And in later games, you can get the item called PP Max.

So I decided to look it up, and it turns out the monkey's original Japanese name was Jirō, a fairly common name not prone to euphemism. The decision to rename him Spanky was on the translation team.
Remember folks: localization cuts both ways.
There's an alternate universe where Spanky Dreams of Sushi is otherwise unchanged but didn't get nominated for any awards.

The thrustmaster HOT-ASS is a respectable product. But if it makes you feel uncomfortable to say that, you can always just tell people you're going to your room to play with your joystick.

Back when I got into the Dynasty Warriors series with the third game, I came across one level that was rather difficult with its narrow bridges and plenty of archer enemies. I complained to a friend that "I'm having trouble with Shi Ting" and he couldn't stop laughing. Being a pure-minded innocent in those days, it took me longer to get the joke than I care to admit.

I think that was too on the nose to be included. If they included all the intentional ones the entire list would be GTA

This is a more well hidden giggle, but in mass effect 2. One of the Admirals in Tali's loyalty will talk about his ship "the Qwib Qwib" and if you ask about it he will remark on how he wishes he could be on the "Ectomy" or the "Deferens" which if you remember Quarian naming schemes, would be Vas Ectomy and Vas Deferens.
I'm honestly a little miffed that the crew didn't bring this up in the video. The smartest reference to dirty humor in a video game in my opinion.

In fairness Deepthroat is a reference to the informant in the real life watergate scandal. If you're going to be involved in a congressional hearing you might as well get a few giggles out of it along the way

I had to rewatch Luke and Ellen absolutely dying at the name P organ because it made me laugh. Despite the rude name, I loved how much Luke couldn’t read the description without laughing.
I ran a D&D game, and while looking through items to potentially give to monsters for the party to obtain after defeating them, I found the Wand of Viscid Globs, a slim black Drow wand from Out of the Abyss that you can expend a charge from to fire a small glob of viscous material up to 60' that will dry on the target, restraining them for 1 hour.
I used it completely unaware of any ways it could be interpreted until the entire party was laughing during the combat. I likely would've picked a different item entirely if I'd realized before the game session, as this one wasn't that sort of campaign.

@@HazeEmry I had it being used with a Modified Wand Sheath. This was a homebrew item I created that accidentally made it more on that theme.
Summary: It allows the wand to retract or extend & frees the user from needing their hand to use their wand. It can also tap into the character's blood to trade damage for acting as if attuned to it.
Below is the full text of what I wrote up & gave to the players along with the wand:
A wand sheath normally clamps onto a Warforged's arm, but this one has been modified to work with more organic humanoids. It clamps tightly around a creature's wrist, like a very tight bracer. The sheath cannot be removed from you against your will while it's attached.
If the sheath doesn't have a wand, you can insert a wand into the sheath as an Action. If a wand is inserted into the sheath that requires attunement, the sheath will be attuned to the wand after one hour. Attunement to the shealth is enough to use a wand the sheath is attuned to. If the wand in the sheath does not require attunement, then you do not need to attune to the sheath to use it and the sheath retains its attunement to the last wand it was attuned to, losing that attunement only if it attunes to a new wand.
You can retract or extend a wand in the sheath as a Bonus Action. While the wand is extended, you can use it as if you were holding it, but your hand remains free.
You can gain the benefits of attuning to the sheath for one hour without actually attuning to it by allowing the end opposite the wand to pierce your arm and tap into your own bloodstream. As a Bonus Action, you take damage based on the rarity of the wand currently in the sheath. This damage bypasses any resistances or immunities that you might otherwise have.
Common -> 1d4 Piercing Damage
Uncommon -> 1d6 Piercing Damage
Rare -> 1d8 Piercing Damage
Very Rare -> 1d10 Piercing Damage
Legendary -> 1d12 Piercing Damage
Artifact -> 1d20 Piercing Damage

I dunno, the first two entries are... indicative of someone having a dirty mind. Cream was probably chosen based on COLOR... it's not the first time in Sonic a character is named after a color. And Cream is cream colored. So what if the word is slang for something else? Lots of words get used as slang for THAT. like milk....

So fun fact, Dragon Age was at least somewhat inspired by the Wheel of Time. And in the Wheel of Time, the big bad corrupted part of the source of magic, leading to the phrase "the Dark One's taint" being written quite a number of times.
Not to mention, one of the worst things to be is a man who has touched the Dark One's taint! Touching the taint too much drives men mad!!😂

Honestly baffled about naming the monkey "Spanky" since his name in the original version is "Jiro-kun" and was actually translated as "Mr. Jiro" at first before the port arrived. It's like the Ghost Stories dub, they just went out of their way to be ridiculous and bad on purpose.
In the game yooka laylee there is a snake character called trouser and also the name of a boat in the game is called the bat ship crazy 🤣🤣

I worked in the electronics and entertainment department at my local Walmart, a woman came up to me and ask if we had thrust-masters there.
That was the 1st time I encountered that brand. I was taken for a loop at 1st. Thankfully I resisted the urge to say “it’s not that kind of Walmart ma’am”

It’s because in Korean the word for blood and "P" sound the same. So it’s blood organ. Or lies of blood. But you could also interpret it as Puppet, or Pinocchio. It works on a few levels if you have the context for it.
And yet none of that matters, because - whatever the backstory - the game still ends up talking about "pee organs" over and over and over again like fourth-graders.
Related to "Lies of P", I took a screenshot of Pinocchio standing under a partially working marquee for the in-game festival that was cancelled before the game started. Thought it looked nice with the old-timey letters lined with lightbulbs and the way that an overhead light acted like a spotlight for the character...
Showed it to someone else and they immediately pointed out that the letters that remained alit spelled out... "fetal".
...I turned Pinocchio around and took the screenshot again with the blank back of the marquee overhead instead.
That's great... in Korea, but why didn't they change the names for every other country on Earth? Lies of Pinocchio would have been a much better name, but they kept it as P purely because that's a pun in Korean. Really?
That was exactly my thought and why I didnt find that one funny. But I at least understand why it can be.

Anyways by the time of Dragon Age 2 the devs definitely figured out why people were giggling when mention of the Taint came up. They had your party member Isabella at one point saying a bunch of euphemisms based on things from Dragon Age Origins and one of them was 'Master your Taint.'
I didn’t realize Cream’s name being rude until this video. I always just saw it as a reference to her fur color and her family being named after sweet dairy products. Also I was too busy appreciating how overpowered this six year old rabbit girl and Chao best friend Cheese was.

Dungeons and Dragons used "taint" as a slow corrupting evil effect in the 3rd edition sourcebook Heroes of Horror, with spells like "Detect Taint" and "Resist Taint", and there was even "Cleanse Taint" (as an added effect of the spell "Remove Curse") you could request from your friendly party cleric, whenever you were feeling "not so fresh".

There was an old JRPG called "Record of Agarest War" on PS3 which had some pretty poorr translation/localisation. One of the early bosses was a giant cockatrice, but in order to save space in the text box for the name the boss was was simply called..."Big Cock".
Lots of funny names cause of text limitations back then.
Dragon Age: Origins is probably my favourite game. I have been playing it since 2009, shortly after it came out. I have watched the Joining scene more times than I can count on two hands. I have heard serious high fantasy characters dramatically say the word "taint" more times than I can even fathom. I had never even ONCE made the connection...
...and now I can never not

In Shadow of Mordor, one of the random Orc names that can be generayed is Dûsh. That û makes an "oo" sound.
And if the Orc is a captain, there will be an army chanting that name...

I remember that! I've played Shadow of Mordor a grand total of once and had a Dûsh. I always laughed my ass off when he came up, and he was one of the ones who just would not stay dead.
I started replaying that recently and got an Orc Captain named “Dûshrat” and couldn’t stop laughing
In Shadow of War I had a Captain called Fubar and his bodyguard named Snafu. I just assumed that not all of the names were random at that point.

Another example is the term "PP" in Pokemon, which I ASSUME stands for something like "Power Points" but is never referred to as such. And the associated item: "PP Up".

Honestly, I think "sticky white slime" is a bit worse than "Sticky white stuff."
Also, if you need suggestions for a commenters edition, Ceaseless Discharge should be enough to get you started. And hell, you know full well Platinum intended it when they called some of Bayonetta's moves things like "Umbran Climax" or "Bullet Climax" and that difficulty mode "Non-stop infinite climax", all of which you wanna keep safe search on for when looking up.
And let's not forget all the old games with no voice acting that let you name your character "You dick".

In Kingdom Hearts 2, Sora and Mulan’s “Limit” attack is called “Red Rocket”, which is certainly… a choice.
Also, Red Rocket being a filling station chain in the pre-Great War eastern USA in the Fallout series.

With Kingdom Hearts, there's nothing to indicate a connection with your cursed knowledge. It's red cuz of Mushu and rocket since he's shooting explosive dragon fire at people. Now the Fallout 4 thing with Dogmeat being found at a Red Rocket Station... okay yeah there are dots that can be connected there. Someone at Bethesda clearly thought they were a comedic genius with that one.
I remember back on the Ps2 we had a nascar game and one of the drivers was called Dick Trickle, laughed everytime his name came up 🤣
He was a real driver years ago, they had to say his name on TV. 😁
Dick Trickle is a Wisconsin racing legend, and also has the funniest real world name. Apart from Tokyo Sexwale, obviously.
I know a guy called Dick Shiner. Funnily enough he always goes by Richard or Rich. The worst part is, it's a family name. His dad spent his entire life being a Dick Shiner, and still decided to inflict the same name on his kid.
The most accidentally filthy sounding name I've ever seen from an English-speaking perspective was a Korean Olympian named Kim Kum Sok.

I've never finished Spanky's Quest either, but it seems quite a light hearted and cheerful kind of game so I can only assume it has a happy ending.

All depends on what you consider a happy ending. After defeating all 50 stages (and 5 boss fights), you're thrust into a boss rush kind of deal where you face off against the 5 bosses again (no new moves, so they're not any tougher) and then follow it up with a final boss fight with the witch that messed with your sack. After she falls, the credits roll...with no other resolution; your knapsack is still cursed and anthropomorphic fruit (some of whom are wearing headgear of some sort) is still running rampant.
Poor Spanky is stuck in a hell from which there is no escape.
In dragon's dogma, there is an extremely minor character called "balsac". If that doesn't belong on this list then I don't know what does
I was going to mention an identically named character in Dragon Quest 4! Even worse, when you defeat him in that game, he comes back more powerful with a new name: wait for it... Balzak.
They did it twice and still may or may not have realized it.

Odd you omitted the unfortunately named SCAT that appeared as an acronym for organizations in TWO games in the 1990s.
Made worse by the fact that the NES 'SCAT' was called Final Mission in Japan, so you can't even blame the language barrier.

There's a character in Genshin Impact named Little Que'er.
Apparently "Que" is Chinese for "Sparrow" and the suffix 'er is meant to indicate she's a young lady. And they added "Little" in case the 'er thing was confusing.

Weirdly I can't recall any in-game innuendos at this moment- but I can tell you that in 1991 (so, same vintage as "Spanky's Quest") came out an Amiga game called "P.P. Hammer and His Pneumatic Weapon".

This is going back just a couple of short year to the mid-1980s, but everyone was playing a really tough flip-screen platformer called - Jet Set Willy. A game so tough that it was actually impossible to finish. It was a rock hard Willy. Unless, of course, you Poked it a bit.
Ahhh, happy times watching miner Willy dropping into unsafe places until all my life was gone.
For “The Taint” I’m sure both games were inspired by the Wheel of Time, where the Taint is what drives male magic users mad (hehe).
