Rideordie. You don't have to count turns out on the idle speed screw at all. Just adjust it at 1700 rpm, by ear is enough if you
have no tach. I'm a mechanic and don't care which position that screw is from the start, I just bring it back to a sensical rpm, and then adjust the AIR screw back/forth till the engine sounds 'happy' ...then back to the idle speed one to get around 1700 rpm.
Mine is stock, I lost count of the original AIR screw setting (my 'd' tool slipped twice, grrrr). Thanks to Jesse here for telling us his' was 3/4 turns out, stock ! I used this as a starting point ( it sounded very unstable/rich) and (easily, just by ear) ended up at
1 3/8 turns out, with the motor now revving a bit too fast, which was instantly corrected with the idle speed screw.
All this took about a minute, no tach,
It now purrs like yours, I 'm not even sure about the exact rpm (I have a Yamaha hr/rpm meter here but I won't even use it on the Navi putput, If it sounds good and the plug looks like yours, I'm happy with it. Stock, please.

I purchased my Navi in January. Looking at the Carb the Honda dealer drilled the air/ fuel plug out. The bike was running rich. It saved me the trouble. Great Video!

      Good to hear Alan.
How is it running now? What you mileage on the Navi and how many miles are you get to a tank before and after air/fuel was adjusted?

Before I took the Navi home the Honda dealer adjusted the carb because of the rich running. The dealer didn't replace the plug in the air/fuel mixture. I live in NW Indiana the weather hasn't been good here. Owned the Navi for over 11 weeks now and haven't taken it out. It only has 2 miles. Hope to ride it soon. Love your informative videos!

I have mine jetted and the air fuel screw exposed. I’m waiting on the tachometer to arrive and did these exact settings in the meantime and it now purrs like a kitten. I’m curious to see where the rpm idles at. This video was very helpful. Awesome job.

      hi DYOS!
Thank you for the update and I’m glade it helps. I would bet you will have to just silty adjust the idler screw but maybe it’s just right. Let me know what the rpm’s at before you adjust it when your tachometer shows up.

I'm on my 4th tank of gas.
    1st 44miles to the reserve.
2nd 49 miles to the reserve. Drove 4 more miles on reserve and got scared and filled it.
3rd tank hot 55 miles to reserve.
Now I'm at 500 to 900 above sea-level. Very hilly here in Midwest. Also I crank down for full speed as fast as it will build speed. Heavy throttle use.
Also had Wife on back for half a tank on time.
    Also I'm 240.

@@rideordie6886 its almost worth replacing the carb with an EFI system. These 'bikes' have a 109cc iirc engine, so they should be getting much better fuel economy than what you're getting. Truly awful. The grom engine makes more power and gets more mpg

I will have to try to dial in the other screw that you mentioned. I don’t have a tach but at idle I feel it is too high. Took it out and I felt like I lost a lot on the low end. Wait to rejet tell you have your intake in less your not going to be riding it tell your intake come in, good chance that you will be running richer then it already is (if you havnt already drilled out your Welch plug) the factory settings if you rejet and ride with out intake… but definitely get access to you air/fuel mixture screw regardless just so you can tune it… hope that helps that’s for watching!
