@@pookythomasmoto9147 thanks bro Where’d you get the tires? And are those the stock rims? I went today to check out the Navi. Getting the yoshimura pipes k&N high flow air filter and the carb jetted
Just picked up my Navi earlier this week and have an air filter and exhaust to throw on after the break in period. Never worked with a carb before and didn't know where to start. Your video has been over-the-top helpful. Thank you for the in depth explanation. Excellent video.
Bro just want to say great job, I'm glad it was as long as it was. Thorough explanation of how it works, honestly think I have a better understanding of how carbs and my Navi work now. finally got my navi running properly. Good vid 👌🏿
Was watching this video trying to figure out what to do, put on yoshi exhaust and polini air filter, and then bike wouldn’t start. Did the install with boyfriend, a few mins into the video when you said “turn the fuel off” and then he said “oh I already did that” 😂😂😂 no wonder it didn’t start!
Just got a navi as my first bike, and I'm completely helpless with this stuff. Saving this video as my bible for all of my future upgrades I plan on tackling. Thank you, sir
I pick up my Navi this week it’s also my first street bike ( and I already have boxes of upgrades waiting to go on it ) I also can say that I have a insanely loud 87 Yamaha warrior 350 it idles at a 100 decibels and revs out to an 195 decibels with the factory pipe unpacked
The drawing of the Navi and that graph chart are great. Your explanations and thorough detailed run through of the whole fuel system is great. Good stuff! Thank you very much.
@@pookythomasmoto9147hey quick question, my Navi ran like a champ at sea level, bone stock engine. I just moved and now I’m at around 2500-3000ft elevation and it ran decent but I can feel a little less power and I can smell gas, smells kinda rich. What would you recommend me to do? Play with the mixture screw/welch or change the main jet?
So contrary to popular belief, when you add an aftermarket system they aren’t totally sealed. Even the hot lap and Yoshimura have slide on canisters that are held down with springs. This causes small air leaks that backpressure takes advantage of, and causes popping on decel. It shouldn’t be ridiculous, but here and there is healthy
Guess I should have should have asked my EGR question here. I got the scooter swap shot EGR block off plate. I see on the lower left of the bike where to put the plate but then you have the tube wrapping around to the intake. After you put the block off plate on the lower left side what do you do with the open hose? Seal it off or something?
Yes. If you want a more efficient and trustworthy way to do it you can order rubber silicone plugs on amazon. Make sure you nail the inner diameter correctly. Measure the inner diameter of the hose and match it with a rubber block off on amazon.
@@kyleagg78 I could do a video on it this summer. I have been wanting to do it but it doesn’t do much for the riding I do. I was interested in deleting it, super simple. Another reason is the EGR filter box is supporting my denali soundbomb compressor so I wouldn’t be able to fully delete the EGR
Small comment here for those of us running the Polini CP carburetor; lowering the engine down via disconnecting the rear suspension is completely unnecessary as you can swap jets out in literally just a minute or so. Not so much with the stock carburetor because of how it mounts to the intake manifold.
I turned it all the way in to check what the stock setting was from factory, and then turned it out to a recommented 2 1/2 to 2 3/4. It’s pretty good now
@@pookythomasmoto9147 I live in California at about 50 ft in elevation and was told not to mess with the idle or welch lol I’ll see and update you (just ordered everything yesterday)
On the bar end mirrors did you had to drill it out any for them to fit? I got protaper bars and the hole is too small for the mirror. If the renthal doesnt need drilling or those mirrors have smaller posts i might have to get them.
Renthal did not have to be drilled. Pro taper bars are not meant for mirrors. The bars you get for the navi are meant for pitbikes, and those don’t have mirrors. The bar ends are generic black ones off amazon with a hex on the end to expand the internal bore. That being said, I have purchased renthal bars all my life and have yet to bend a single one
@@pookythomasmoto9147 Thanks!!! Completely new to this and just kept hearing ProTaper ProTaper Protaper so i went with that. Was never really concerned about bending so Renthal seems the way to go to get the look i want. Ill be using this video this weekend to do the carb.
You could. Unfortunately not all the gas will burn/push through. It also takes longer. So either way you will have to empty the float bowl because of the vacuum.
Best explanation of how the carburetor work I've seen so far. Thanks!
Thank you! Glad I can help people.

@@pookythomasmoto9147love your drawings and explanations! As an engineer, I really appreciate them!
Awesome video ! Love the navi, I just wish we could have a bigger fuel tank, like 1.4gal at the least and i would be happy
Bigger fuel tank better Suspension and hight top speed would be incredible but I love mine I named it Chris brown
Great mod would be a fuel tank.
This video is amazing. Thank you for taking the time to walk through everything how you did.
Thanks for your support. A lot more coming.
Awesome video, great job explaining everything in detail!
A lot to go over, but as long as people understand it thats what counts
Thank you sir. Very clearly explained and I appreciate the time you took to prepare and share this information. Good job....
You do great videos my man I will hopefully be doing work to my Navi I just got one and I will be using your helpful videos ,
Thanks for the support!

Don’t make me blush
Well done, thanks for giving us that!
Great Navi video! Very informative too. Thanks for sharing 😎

so what did you do with that welch plug? where does that need to be adjusted to? that’s the only part confusing me.
I was able to add a shim for the needle. With out the shim there was a lot of popping

Which polini? Is an adapter required?
Just because I haven’t watched it fully yet. Did you tighten or I tighten the welch screw?

Would a #120 main jet be too much ?
Couldn't you also run the bike with the petcock turned off until the carb is empty?

I need the D screw for the fuel screw… can you link me to it?
Motion Pro on amazon sells them. 1/4 inch

Whats the top speed after the inyake carb and air filter curious to know if u got it to 55
Yeah it hovers around there. A little less. Big thing is the cvt upgrades. Coming soon
What did you do with that left over gas ? Did you put it back in your tank?
Any gas I drain out of the carb I don’t put back in. You probably could, but I wouldn’t. I used it to get a campfire going shortly after this vid 👍🏼
Ok thank you
hey man are you on 603 riders by any chance???
Do you have a link for the d shaped screw ?
It can be found on amazon. Search motion pro socket 90 degree 1/4 inch.

Need a jet set ! Can you help
