Hi Christian! Great video, I would love to visit these locations as well. I think the area where the 'secret door' was supposed to be was actually shown at 27:12 in your video, the bit of wall with the control tower 'thingy' above it. If you watch the episode again, when Michael comes out of the door a guy throws the grenade at him from this control tower. I think the area you show as being where the door was (at 27:25) is at the other end of the dam on the other side (with no control tower above it).

I’m with you on Junk Yard Dog, I love the heart to heart chat Michael has with KITT about how he felt after being shot in Knight of the Phoenix (also a favourite). Best TV intro and intro music of all time, great and funny edit. Why can't they make something as good as this anymore? And I wasn't "into" Knight Rider, although I watched it. Watching these old episodes, I'm totally pulled into the story in seconds.
Yep I have 3 sets of the box sets on DVD still watching them today. Your right that music was great. They don't make any shows today better than Knight Rider loved Devons accent.
That was brilliant guys, I was only saying to my wife how brilliant TV was back in the 80s with the likes of Knight Rider and A Team etc. compared to the absolute trash we get in the UK today. Thank god we have TH-cam 👍
Dr. Who and Father Ted had to be an island in the abyss, right? (a yank that spent near-a-decade in the Uk.) Now, granted, '80s UK tele was nothing special. But, I mean, there was good tele on in the '80s to '00s even if it didn't come from Canada or the US, right? I mean, lemme tell-ya, I could watch all the DS9 and Friends I wanted oversees, but I couldn't get a glimpse of Red Dwarf in the States.
Loved Knight Rider completely as a kid. Still a great show now, truly stood the test of time. Spent many weeks recoding the theme tune onto cassette, to endlessly playback in bedroom, closing my eyes and wanting to believe I was driving K.I.T.T. Great repisode, absolutely loved it!! 😍

Totally enjoyed watching this video. You did an amazing job and I'm sure it took a lot of work to film and edit. Nice to see KITT show up too! Last time I saw the car was in 1989 at Universal Studios.
I got a picture with KITT at a car show in the 1980s when I was 5 or 6 years old. I also saw KITT at the Celebrity Car Museum in Branson Missouri where they have a large collection of replica and also screen-used vehicles from movies and TV shows. Worth visiting if you're eve in Missouri.
OMG this is the best video ever :). I loved Knight Rider and i still do. However KITTs voicebox was located in the middle of the car above the gear shift and not where it is now (Mandela Effect).
Glad you liked this! I used to think that too but it was always above the steering wheel in the show. The problem was they never showed it in context only close up, so we had to guess, and guess wrong!
Wow...this video must have taken quite a long time to make. The effort is appreciated, I'll have to watch a few more times to absorb everything :) PS: The music mentioned in 3:50 sounds like a sped up inspired version of Fletch's Theme from the movie Fletch with Chevy Chase and a bit of Harold Faltermeyer - Axel F thrown into the mix :)
Well done on finding the locations. I loved the humourous intro. Years ago I saw a replica of KITT driving around what used to be the old Central TV studios in Nottingham (now part of Nottingham University). The design hasn't aged well. 🙁 I have to admit I much preferred Airwolf to Knight Rider... Stringfellow Hawke was way cooler than Michael Knight and Airwolf was just a beautiful machine. OK, it was a Bell 222 in a fancy frock, but I still love the look of it today.
This was one of my best childhood shows in the 1980s. I watched every episode! Thank you so much for sharing, brings back good memories! LOL I really love the names of the actors in the video. The names are so hilarious (funny)! Do you own the K.I.T.T. replica in your video? Thanks.

The guy on Knight Rider Historians owns the Junk Yard Kitt episode car as far as I can recall. They also own the Knight Industries tractor unit that used to tow around the mobile office. Well worth watching the channel is you want to find out about locations, car versions and insider gossip from back in the day.
I tried to re-watch the Knight Rider series. About 15 minutes in when Michael comes running out with his tight jeans showing off the lolly bags, I decided I should just keep it all a memory.
I was born in 1982, so I was too young to appreciate the show during its initial run... I tried to watch it and see what all the fuss was about many times and... well, let's just say hearing other people gushing about it has always been a lot more entertaining.
It had been years since I watched Knight Rider, It's never on TV. So last year I bought the DVD Boxset. Oh, the memories. And it's still a realy good show.
Awesome resipode 👍, aw I loved watching knight rider too as a kid to, That 80s perm though 🤣. Also loved Airwolf, Street hawk and Automan too, which all had equally awesome synth inspired music intros as well, still give me goosebumps to this day😊😍. So many more good TV shows like Magnum PI ,Dukes of Hazard, A-Team. I feel a retro TV watching binge coming on now , thanks Perifractic 😊🤣👍, just need order some pizza first 🍕.
AWESOME! You never cease to surprise and amaze me. ps: 1:47 ... I beg to differ, the best TV theme of all time is probably "Space 1999" from season 1, or "The Persuaders". 2 Brits shows :)
Sure does take me back. Many many moons ago, when i was about 12-13, I got to go to Universal studios. Went on a 'special' back lot tour, and we were told, at the end, that anyone who wanted a signed photo of Knight Rider could have one. I was sooooo excited (woo woo) ... then very disappointed. It was a signed photo of K.I.T.T. Oh well. Looking back I should have held onto it over the years, probably worth some cheddar now ROFL!
I was following Knight Rider too in Italy (renamed with a strong fantasy by the translators Supercar), and loved the pilot; however the nominal series was less exciting compared to the darker pilot but did follow several episodes; knowing to live close to several filming locations of it is exciting! For the non locals: College of the Canyons is in Valencia, the race track is close to the Santa Clarita train station, the panda Express is in Canyon Country [The neighboring towns of Valencia, Saugus, Newhall and Castaic did join together as the city in Santa Clarita in 1987] while instead the Sepulveda dam is down south in the San Fernando Valley between Van Nuys and Sherman Oaks; beside Knight Rider has also been location for a bunch of car commercials and other movies.
A great retrospective of a brilliant TV series. Probably the best of the three high tech vehicle programmes of the era. The theme tune was fantastic but not quite the best TV theme tune ever. The other programmes were, of course, Airwolf and Street Hawk, all with great theme tunes. Gosh, I used to fancy Bonnie from Knight Rider, ah those formative days of pubescent development. One thing that always puzzled me was why did such a high tech vehicle like KITT always list a BASIC program on it's screen to simulate its superiority? KITT's AI could not be programmed in BASIC. I wonder which computer they took that screens video from? Apple II, Commodore PET? I love the dubbed on KITT engine whine sound which was up there with the Airwolf roar as a great sound effect. Thanks for this nostalgic look back at a great TV show, and yes we all wanted our own KITT self driving vehicle with that special paint coating. For me Top TV Theme tunes are: 1. Doctor Who 2. Airwolf. 3. Knight Rider. 4. Street Hawk. Nice one Perifractic and Ladyfractic is looking beautiful as always.
Really enjoyed this, still I am a massive knight rider fan. Loved the sense of humour, peri fractic, as always you do an enjoyable TH-cam channel. Keep up the good work Lady fractic Really looked good with long hair, she can carry anything off Looking forward to another video How about another knight rider, or airwolf or even the a team 😁
I didn't really watch Knight Rider very often, I was too busy chasing skirts. But I love the episode, and production quality was once again a home run, because I have always liked going back in time and seeing what things looked like back in the day. A few months ago someone did the same thing with "Mad Max" and "Road Warrior." It was cool comparing pictures then to how they look now. I don't have a Tesla to trade in for KITT, but I do have a nice white Ford Bronco that I would trade for Colt Seavers truck. And yes, I do catch crap from friends about my white Bronco, for obvious reasons.
a lot of Knight Rider stuff was filmed at college of the canyons, hopefull you went to the car bays with the big numbers on the doors too, it gives away a lot of clues on such.
Its California, quite unlikely someone in the South like me would know anything other than the general locastion, people like Joe on the Knight Rider Historians channel might, though. th-cam.com/users/KnightRiderHistoriansOfficial
Nice video. It's so wrong though. The best 1980s TV series and the best TV theme music ever are from Airwolf, which again happens to have been filmed in your area.
This is great! Can you put together a google map of all of the locations, please, so I can look at them in Google Earth, and maybe go there someday? I'm a then-and-now nerd.
This is great. I was so obsessed with KITT when I was young, I drew the dashboard on square paper and coloured with felt tip pens, all the lights, readouts, switches and screens by recording every episode on the family VCR, Trying to get the steadiest picure with no noise bars, I felt I did a good job at the time. I could problably still do it from memory. By the way, have you ever checked out "Knight Rider Historians" YT Channel? PS I am not affiliated but I just happen to like their work. My favourite episode is KITT vs KARR. More screen time for the 2 cars.. It was like season 1-2 vs season 3-4 dash boards in a whole episode :)

Very nice tribute , and a very cool editing. Thanks
Eran
I have knightrider theme as my ringtone
We used to video it. Loved it
Just subscribed, awesome channel :) Gotta rewatch Knight Rider someday again.
That was absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for doing this - now I find myself wanting to watch the original series again. So many memories!
Whatn excellent episode! I grew up watching Knight Rider so bought back great memories
Awesome Work Bro, Thanks 👍😀 Greetings from Helsinki, Finland 🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸🇫🇮🇺🇸
The guy on Knight Rider Historians owns the Junk Yard Kitt episode car as far as I can recall. They also own the Knight Industries tractor unit that used to tow around the mobile office.
Well worth watching the channel is you want to find out about locations, car versions and insider gossip from back in the day.
Yes great channel. I think they have the other KITT that was destroyed in Juggernaut not Junkyard Dog 🤷🏻♂️ Still cool!
For fans of another 80's classic, the Adventures of Buckaroo Banza, the Sepulveda Dam is also the location of the end scene.
This is just awesome! So well put together - must have taken a lot of time! I have so many questions tho...
Glad you enjoyed it! All will be revealed in a supporter exclusive vid soon :-)
I tried to re-watch the Knight Rider series. About 15 minutes in when Michael comes running out with his tight jeans showing off the lolly bags, I decided I should just keep it all a memory.
😆
I was born in 1982, so I was too young to appreciate the show during its initial run... I tried to watch it and see what all the fuss was about many times and... well, let's just say hearing other people gushing about it has always been a lot more entertaining.
You have 2 kitt episodes in one.cougars was the football team staring in knights in the fast lane episode.also filmed in the same location.
And one of my other videos is about the Mercury Cougar car that I converted!
You have a sincere way of doing some cringey stuff. I love it. Really fun video.
Cheers Scott!
AWESOME! You never cease to surprise and amaze me.
ps: 1:47 ... I beg to differ, the best TV theme of all time is probably "Space 1999" from season 1, or "The Persuaders". 2 Brits shows :)
Absolutely loved this. Bravo Sir!
Thank you kindly!
Perfect stuff Perri. Thank you for reminding me how it was to watch Knight rider.
Was it a tire track?
I was following Knight Rider too in Italy (renamed with a strong fantasy by the translators Supercar), and loved the pilot; however the nominal series was less exciting compared to the darker pilot but did follow several episodes; knowing to live close to several filming locations of it is exciting!
For the non locals: College of the Canyons is in Valencia, the race track is close to the Santa Clarita train station, the panda Express is in Canyon Country
[The neighboring towns of Valencia, Saugus, Newhall and Castaic did join together as the city in Santa Clarita in 1987]
while instead the Sepulveda dam is down south in the San Fernando Valley between Van Nuys and Sherman Oaks; beside Knight Rider has also been location for a bunch of car commercials and other movies.
For me Top TV Theme tunes are:
1. Doctor Who
2. Airwolf.
3. Knight Rider.
4. Street Hawk.
Nice one Perifractic and Ladyfractic is looking beautiful as always.
Street Hawk and Airwolf were also favourites of mine, along with Tom Baker’s Dr Who. And K9 of course; the original Puppyfractic!
@@RetroRecipes For me the definitive Doctor will always be Jon Pertwee but Tom Baker was certainly one of the better ones.
Really enjoyed this, still I am a massive knight rider fan.
Loved the sense of humour, peri fractic, as always you do an enjoyable TH-cam channel. Keep up the good work
Lady fractic Really looked good with long hair, she can carry anything off
Looking forward to another video
How about another knight rider, or airwolf or even the a team
😁
Thank you for your kind words! Means a lot 👍🕹️ More planned! Maybe BTTF next!
@@RetroRecipes yes! BTTF would be perfect.
My Uncle's name is ACTUALLY Michael Knight - how cool is that :-) Top work Peri
Now this is one of your best episodes ever. WOW!!
Thanks! All downhill from here 😆😉
Awesome! Need a Dukes of Hazard and A-Team follow up ;)
I didn't really watch Knight Rider very often, I was too busy chasing skirts.
Glad you liked it!
retro at it's best !!! very well made !!! keep on the good stuff coming :)
Thank you for your kind words! Means a lot 👍🕹️
a lot of Knight Rider stuff was filmed at college of the canyons, hopefull you went to the car bays with the big numbers on the doors too, it gives away a lot of clues on such.
Sadly that building has been locked off each time with a wire gate. Any tips or contacts to visit properly?
Its California, quite unlikely someone in the South like me would know anything other than the general locastion, people like Joe on the Knight Rider Historians channel might, though. th-cam.com/users/KnightRiderHistoriansOfficial
Nice video. It's so wrong though. The best 1980s TV series and the best TV theme music ever are from Airwolf, which again happens to have been filmed in your area.
Knight Rider music is 1% better because of the wind chime usage
Looking forward to see if you do a part two to include many of the other spots. Lots located in Santa Clarita. Excellent video. Kudos.
Really enjoyed that, thanks for the effort.
And Ladyfractic in that wig, Woweewoowa!
So much that was only sci-fi/fantasy back then is now closer than ever. Cool (albeit a bit scary) times.
This is great! Can you put together a google map of all of the locations, please, so I can look at them in Google Earth, and maybe go there someday? I'm a then-and-now nerd.
Thanks! That actually already exists. Have a google and have fun!
Yes I love their channel since I discovered it recently and am in touch with them 👍🕹️
We need too see more Knight Rider filming locations please 🙏
Ooh okay!
oh man nice, watched it 2 times. great video!
Blimey 3:36 I do not remember this episode. What is it called? What season. I will have to watch the lot again!
I say the name of the episode just before. You have to watch the whole video man! stop skipping bits 😉
