You are a life saver I just broke the rack and pinion putting a new line on and was so worried I had to send it to a shop you make it seem simple enough that I can do it myself

Wonderful presentation! Excellent mechanic. Found this/your video today just after getting under friend's Kia Sedona to check out R & P that dealer said needs to be replaced. After watching this vid I can do work myself and save a bundle. Thank you.

I wrap the seatbelt through the steering wheel and then buckle it to make sure it doesn't turn. Marking it absolutely puts you very close to center but if it turns 180 degrees you wouldn't know. Just a tip from another mechanic. Good video.

      Sorry, I meant 360 degrees.

Great Video! You have a new follower. Ill be posting my own when I do this job this weekend but the one im doing is a hydraulic/power steering fluid driven not electronic . Fluid is dumping out the dust boots of inner tie rods so time to rebuild/replace.

Your video was great and very informative however it's the first video that popped up when I searched 2011 Kia Sorento. The one you are working on has electric steering assist and mine is hydrologic bit of a difference

how similar is the 2013 Kia Forte? I was understanding you had to support the weight of the engine with a cherry picker or something if you drop the subframe on the Forte

Excellent instruction, but don't you have to connect a hose or two from the power steering pump?

      It is electric steering

Nice work and good video. I may have missed it but how did you disconnect the fluid lines? I have a 2007 Santa Fe, would the procedure be the same?

The newer Hyundai and Kia have Electric Power Steering so it would not need the fluid.

Nice video. Is this one electric steering? Mine has the power steering pump. I think I would have a few extra steps for disconnecting hoses.

about to do this same job! I do have a lift so it wont be hard to drop sub frame. But I do have the power steering pump so I was wondering about the lines too as I didn't see them in this video. Ill try to record and post something as well. Great video

I Guarantee this guy replaced this electronic powered rack n pinion
And he never fixed the problem. Those rack n pinion rarely go bad Unless the car was in a serious accident or something was broken

Sorry but if I took my car to a shop and they charged me 800+ for a used rack and pinion that came from a junk yard I’d lose my shit lmaooo this why nobody touches my cars
