    FAQ:
Q: Can I send you a deck to check out?
A: Only patrons can send me decks and expect a reply, because I get too many of these requests to manage. Consider joining the discord (links above) and posting your decks in the #decks channel for community feedback.
Q: Why didn’t you play this certain card I would play?
A: Because I don’t think it is as good as every other card in the deck.
Q: Why did you make that play at time stamp XX:XX?
A: I usually talk through my plays, so watch again and see if I mention it (I often do, sometimes during the turn after the play to keep the video moving). If I don’t mention it at all, I may have missed it. I miss plays several times a day, and so do other players.
Q: How can I support the channel?
A: Watching the videos IS supporting the channel. There are many options above if you have extra money and would like to help more. I appreciate it, I have a lot of bills and life stuff to manage, but it is not required. Take care of yourself first, watch the videos, then give other financial support if you really want to.
Q: Will you play janky deck xyz?
A: My mission is to show people decks that they can play often, win games with, and feel successful with. I don’t enjoy decks that strive to achieve an interaction but rarely win (aka, janky decks). There are many successful jank players on TH-cam, and you should check out their channels. I am competitive, I like winning, and I like helping others win and feel successful. That is why you won’t see janky combo decks on the channel very often.
Q: Do you show all your games, or do you edit out your losses?
A: I don’t show all my games. The video is usually the best moments of between one and three hours of recording. I remove games for a number of reasons, both wins and losses. Some games are slow, some aren’t competitive because of lands, some are the same matchup over and over. More losses get cut out than wins because winning is more fun for me, which makes for better content for most viewers. It can be disappointing for those who want to see me lose (yes, people watch just to see me lose, I see you!).
Q: If you edit out some of your losses, how do I know if a deck is good and worth crafting?
A: If you watch the entire video, I always give my honest opinion about the deck at the end. As always, you are welcome to draw your own conclusions. My goal is to show off a variety of decks that can get a player with skill and conviction into Mythic, and I want them to have fun doing it. I almost never show a video of a deck that I don’t believe in, and if I don’t like a deck after playing it, I guarantee you will know about it if you watch the whole video and listen to what I have to say.

2 Years and counting of watching daily. I can count on one hand how many I missed. You help me in so many ways. You show me that setting and achieving a goal is insanely fulfilling. You help distract me on bad days (like today in pain recovering from a surgery). You help pass my lunch breaks (which I wait to take until your video is up). You also have helped me to try make my own content. I admire you CGB and all you do for the community and your viewers. Congratulations and I'll be here watching daily with the CKC.

Man, the intro was so thoughtful and moving. I can only thank you sincerely for your kind words CGB, even if you are the one truly deserving them here. Keep on doing what you love and love it all the way. People, such as myself, come after your own, personal decisions. You may be fortunate to have such a loyal and caring audience, but I'm telling you, we wouldn't be here if you weren't you; or at least, in all seriousness, I'm leaving you the moment I perceive insecurity or fallacy in your doing.
In other words, when you'll stop caring for what you want and why you do it, and you'll start pretending it's what we ask, and worse, what we need, you can count one less subscriber. But I'm certain this day will never come in a million years.
So, after such an abstruse, boring comment, I pay you much respect.
Stay yourself, stay true, and keep on pushing. Have a good one mate.
Also, congrats on your streak, I don't usually comment that often, but, cool kid here, I'm silently following along since day one hundred, as far as remember.

Hey CGB. I haven't been subscribed for two years (I played my first game of Magic in summer 2019 :op) but since I subscribed I watch your videos about every day from the beginning to the end. Among all the Magic TH-camrs that I follow you're my favorite one for several reasons:
    - you post regularly
    - you keep your intros short enough for them not to be boring
    - you are very considerate for every move you play, always explaining why you hesitate among different moves or why one has your preference; and besides you overall play very well, which is inspiring
    - you're anyway very pedagogue in nearly all the aspects: deck tech, tactic and strategy; you're always there to explain your choices
    - you speak with your heart.
The four first ones are qualities that I find precious for a Magic youtuber, but the latter one is maybe the most important: it keeps you whole, it keeps you bound with your community, and it's what makes a human being interesting... being sincere goes beyond being professionnal, it creates interest for your personnality and not only for your content. It allows some room for things that go beyond the game or simple agenda-related facts. Not to say that it's rare, but... could be :op many interactions on a daily basis lack sincerity, at least where I live.
Anyway, I'm glad to be subscribed and I hope that we'll be able to see you around for as long as possible :o)

I didn't see everyone video, but I guess I saw 70% aprox... In that times, I lived so much things... I get divorsed so I came back to my family home, lost my job during the pandemic, I was operated, hurt my arm so I couldn't play my saxophone again for 1 and a half year (so, I lost a lot of works)... In all those moments, some very difficult to me, you was there.. I won't say "I know you" because I don't, but like my family and my friends, you were there. Some days, in the first nights in my teenage bed, without a job and without my ex wife I simply cried, put your videos and trying to heal myself... Your work really helped me in my darkest moments. Just remember it makes me cry, but in gratitude. Thanks and congrats.

    Good day to you CGB!
The story of the fatally ill person who found relief in your videos is really heart-warming!
I am not ill or in any way struggling for life, but your videos actually do serve as some sort of a beacon. I go through a tough day knowing that in the evening, just before bedtime, I'll have some 30+ minutes of real enjoyment, watching a really skillful person play a fresh deck, and put in some humour that matches my own humour tonality!
I want to reiterate what was probably said dozens of times already by many of your fans: I know there's a human being on the other end of this screen, and I would never be mad or discontented if you were to skip a day. But I absolutely appreciate and respect that you, for straight two years now, have not, and I find both the entertainment in the content and the inspiration from this persistence.
Thank you for what you do, and I'm really intrigued and looking forward to finding out how your M1200 grind finished.
    Happy anniversary... of sorts!

CGB, 25 years ago I opened my first pack of Magic the gathering cards, which started a an addiction I loved with a passion, I won tournaments at the Queen marry in Socal, won tournaments at my local comic shops, then my 20s hit, and I let go of MTG, then Dominaria/Ravinica standard hit Arena, and I decided to shake the rust off of myself and get back into playing, YOU, LVD, and Mogwai helped me to learn and understand the game all over again, but you specifically reminded me what it means to be a Blue mage, and over the passed two years you've helped me hit Platinum, and Diamond, only occasionally resorting to RDW, but predominantly making it there as a Blue mage, whether it was Bant Nexus of fate, Esper control, Dimir Reanimator, Bant ramp control, or just straight up Mono Blue. I even remember when you and MTG nerd girl came up with that simic wild growth walker deck specifically for her to tackle the meta at that one tournament. What I'm trying to say is, you and Your channel have and will always mean a lot to me. Cheers mate.

I hope you can continue doing what you like and I wish the best for you.

I’ve been watching your vids for at least a year, and I love em, because I’ve been playing on and off since Ice age, and I haven’t ran into many control players with thought processes in game as close to mine as yours are, so I support every vid I can. And it’s good to see videos like this, it shows the frustration that a lot of us players go through, especially with arena. I appreciate seeing the grind and the mental toughness it can take.

Your passion means everything, my dude. The sacrifices you made to bring us this content should not be understated, and it really shows how much you care about not only the game itself, but your craft as an entertainer, and about your audience as well.
I missed the stream yesterday, I had planned to stop in to wish you a happy streak anniversary (forgetting about the leap day) but had to adult instead. So I guess I'll have to do it here. 2 years is crazy, you're a machine. I've only been here since about March, but your content made a nearly unbearable year a bit better, and you are appreciated.

hm. i was gonna say that, while i appreciate that your videos are one of the only reliable things in my life, and they were one of the things i missed the most while in the psych ward last last september (RNA actually came out while i was in the psych ward i think), they nevertheless don't come to mind when i'm searching for reasons to live or anything. (i've made a lot of suicide attempts. three of them were at a time in my life when i was regularly watching your videos. so, they're evidently not *that* powerful to me.)
but then i realized that they do keep me alive in a specific way: they encourage me to eat. i have made it a habit to eat while watching your videos. eating is very hard and unpleasant for me, and i usually only do it once per day, in varying amounts. while most of the difficulty is psychological, i also have a bad tremor, and it's very demoralizing when you can barely eat soup without spilling it on yourself. it takes a lot of conscious effort, and focusing on my will to live, to keep doing it. but watching the daily cgb is much easier to work up enthusiasm for. i don't have a strict rule that i can only watch them while i eat or anything, but one just kind of naturally leads to the other. case in point: i didn't watch your videos today until ~3:30 in the morning. i also forgot to eat all the way until then, and i would be in bed, having not eaten, if i didn't still have a cgb episode to watch.
i've been a $5 patreon supporter of yours since… roughly the aforementioned september. sometimes i think about all the different causes i could be putting my money towards instead, and wonder if i only continue to support you because it feels socially awkward to rescind my support. but, i think it's at least a little important to me to feel like i deserve this content in some way. not that i'm really entitled to anything in particular from you, but… it keeps me coming back, you know? i pay monthly to watch it, so it *must* be worth watching, i think to myself. and that keeps me eating, and that keeps me alive. so that's nice.
i don't know if this will get lost in a sea of similar comments, or if it'll get denounced as a fraud, or what. i don't expect any acknowledgement or reply. but it felt nice to write out all these words. i cried the whole time, and i still am. "cried" reads like an alien word to me, like i can't remember what it means. i don't often do it. even just getting to feel these emotions is valuable to me. so, thank you for that, and everything else. i, in fact, don't expect a daily video from you; i don't even fully trust the sun to rise every morning, never mind for a *person* to be reliable. i also can't hold you to a standard i don't hold myself to. so, i'd survive if you didn't put up a video one day. your streak seems to me like a feat of athletics: like how some people can score perfect shots in skee ball seemingly indefinitely, or how there are people who've held the record for longest time spent hoola-hooping, and it's somehow on the order of days. in other words, it is very, very very impressive, but it is not dear to me.
one day, youtube will randomly go down, or you will get in a bad car accident and go to the hospital, or you will get stuck at the airport. one day your internet will go out for a few weeks. depending on how much pressure you're putting on yourself, you might one day end up at the psych ward like i did. and that will be okay. i am not saying this because i want you to change your mind about how valuable your streak is to you. i am saying this because not everybody seems to acknowledge that sometimes these things happen. people don't seem to plan for these unlikely incidents, and they are hurt badly by them when they do happen. i have found that expecting the worst makes it a lot more bearable when these things do happen. so i just wanted to acknowledge that. if this comment ever comes to mind when you are worried about your streak being in danger, then don't forget to think of this paragraph, too. i, and people like me, will be okay.
well, my tears have dried, and my curry rice is getting cold. also it's 4:13 in the morning and i should be in bed, but i really need to finish this video/rice first. so i will end it here. thanks again for everything.
edit: oh, i remembered what i forgot to say: i may not be your mom, but i have a deeply personal stake in things like staying up too late and undereating. so forgive me for being the millionth person to say this, but: go to bed!
edit 2: oh yeah also, nowadays my go-to way to distract myself from an episode™ of suicidal ideation or self-harm urges is to stream to my friends. i'm not sure if you had anything to do with this, but i do dimly remember sending you a message about being inspired to stream when i first got on your patreon.

CGB, thank you so much for sharing your very human story about a viewer messaging you! Thanks for being brave enough to keep your intro with visible emotions. I work in healthcare and deal with death and dying somewhat regularly. It is moments like the one you shared and the emotion that it imprinted on you that help remind me why we do what we do and how much little acts of positivity and kindness can help make the world just a bit brighter

I started playing about 2 years ago and took a break during Zendikar Risings horrid meta shift until the Kaldheim release.
Ever since i found you via LVD in the summer of 2019, i watched most of your content. 2 years of daily content is nothing short of being a Beast that kept me in MTG! Keep it up and hopefully one day I'll meet you on the ladder

Congratulations on your 2 year streak, CGB. Ive been watching you everyday. It helps me sleep (if I concetrate on the video, insomnia cant catch me lol). I also improved a lot in the game. Im sure there are many people here that just like me, work hard everyday and it's good to get home and enjoy your hobbie, you make it all the more fun.

I just HAD to go down all the way through your videos to find out the fisrt one I ever saw in the channel was in march 2019, a MONORED video (with 13 lands, I remember that nonsense)
Man, that was a different channel, and I only started my streak of watching (almost) all videos about 10 months ago
But it's been wonderful 10 months, when I learned a lot, stepped up my control game and crafted a few Sky Noodle decks
Thx for the great work, man

I've been in a long haul coming up to software release deadline and your videos have been staple background content while I'm waiting on builds to complete and tests to run. Kinda fun watching you wind up as fried as I have been. Misery loves company and there's no way I'd be maintaining a cheery attitude for a camera as the grinds drag on. Good on you, keep it up.

I’m not sure I’ve seen watched every single day, but pretty darn close to it. I started watching you when you were still pretty subdued and didn’t ramp up the nerdiness or any of the characters. Like, before you were actually popular. I was attracted to your straightforward and accessible narration of your plays, which you still do very well. Congrats on the streak and keep up the fine work!

First of all, I love your content and your skills, CGB. I didn't know how to reach you so I decided to try via comment, I hope you happen to read this haha. Since I saw Fynn, the Fangbearer, I've been thinking about how deathtouch could be very powerful only if it had a real win condition, and now it does! I wonder if you'd ever consider breweing a poison deathtouch agro Golgari? I personally believe it could be a S tier deck as deathtouch by default gives you great board control, and with fyn being a 2 mana cost card, the poison win can happen extremely fast. Thank you for what you do and I'll be here hoping I get lucky and eventually see you trying out a Fynn deck. Best wishes to the one in best of one :)

Hey CGB, I have been watching your content for a little over a year and a half now and I saw a different side of you in this video. I liked seeing your passion and connectedness with your mission. I am trying to start a company aimed around technology, but I want to have an impact. Your sentiment was a big reminder that the best way to impact people is to do what I love no matter what it is. Im glad that you are reinvigorated to keep going. I love the content, and enjoyed seeing more of your character outside of your usual tactician mindset. Best wishes. I'll see you in the next video.

What is different with these grindy races to top 1200 at end of season is this content shows ur grit and mental toughness. Seeing you play not at ur best show and still competing shows u a champ. Whether u make it or not.

I'm only one year into the streak and couldn't appreciate what you do more.
I love the game, and have found difficulty enjoying it with life/family responsibilities. However, I can tune in every day and get a dose of what killing it on the ladder is like. Though, I need to rethink when I watch these videos. My 5yr old said "It's me, It's CGB" the other day at dinner and my wife gave me a disapproving look. haha.
