  • Is 2024 the swan song for Martin Truex Jr. in the NASCAR Cup Series? The 2017 Cup Series champion's future has been the center of hot rumors lately and many signs point to Truex hanging up his helmet after he made the decision to return this season.
And with so many drivers looking for a ride in 2025, including Chase Briscoe, Josh Berry, Ryan Preece and Noah Gragson, don't expect Joe Gibbs Racing to give Truex as long to decide as he had last year. Especially when the JGR Xfinity Series bench is as thin as it is with few Cup prospects ready to take over the No. 19 car next season.
In this clip from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Pit Reporters, SiriusXM's Davey Segal and NASCAR.com's Zach Sturniolo join Brett McMillan to share what they've been hearing about these rumors and more. Plus, our panel gets into what they've been hearing about the Stewart-Haas Racing charters, what happens with the fourth SHR charter (A Cole Custer Cup return?!) and how Shane van Gisbergen plays into the future at Team Trackhouse, which already has three drivers under contract for 2025.
Simply put, Davey says SVG didn't come to NASCAR to compete in the Xfinity Series. With two wins under his belt and a real shot at the championship, will SVG make the leap to Cup in 2025? If so, what does it mean for Daniel Suarez and Zane Smith at Trackhouse? And would Justin Marks purchase another charter to make it all work? #NASCAR
