I am really miss Mr Harvey in the evening voice Every day when I am going and looking forward to hearing his voice It was so comforting after a long day hard day Thank you so very much Mr Harvey for the wonderful memories ❤❤❤❤❤
When I joined the work force in the 1970s the crew would listen to Paul Harvey at noon, no talk just listen, Then we would reflect and quietly go back to work, Great man Wonderful memories of him by voice alone.
Born in 79, so times had changed by the time I got my first real job at 15. Changed even more after that, obviously. So thankful for my parents and both sets of grandparents who showed me great people like him. Honestly, his voice comforts me. Reminds me of my childhood and a time before me I never got to personally experience.
As an 18 year old boy fresh out of high school went to work for my uncle everyday we sat in his truck eating our lunch listen to Paul Harvey as soon as Paul Harvey said good day my uncle opened the door and said let's go back to work
I heard Paul Harvey on my first transistor radio when I was 9 years old at noon just running through the dial looking for a song I might like wen I stumbled on to this voice that said stay tuned for news and I waited for the camercel to end and I heard Paul Harvey talk and I listened to the whole story and I was hooked after words that announcer said tune in tomorrow for the rest of the story and I did and for many years and wen I missed one of his rest of the story's it would make me feel like I was left behind missed out so I never missed very many I wish I could have heard them all for one day miny years ya little boy turned his first radio on and was addicted to the one and only Paul Harvey wat great moments I had listing to him and the pictures he created in my young mind he was the best no I thank him for such a great time and for his wonderful stories ❤❤
As a kid in the 60s, I used to spend a week every summer with my aunt and uncle in Lufkin Texas. My uncle would come home from the foundry which was just a few blocks away, for "dinner", (not lunch), after eating, he'd sit in his living room chair and listen to Texas State Network News and Paul Harvey. Returning from work before supper he'd again listen to the news and Paul Harvey's The Rest Of The Story. It was a ritual that was constant as the stars at night. Years later, returning from the Navy, at my job, we'd gather at lunch and listen on the work truck radio to Paul Harvey after the noon news . I know many others have such great memories to share. Paul Harvey is a piece of Americana that can never be equaled or replaced nor will any present broadcaster be as trusted and beloved as he was.
Thank you so much for sharing your memories of him! I can remember driving in the car with my dad and listening. There’s just something about him that was so soothing. And you felt like he was always honest. I wish we had somebody like that now.
11 August 2024, Maricopa County, AZ watching: How I miss listening to Paul Harvey! I listened for over 35 years on 1510 KGA radio, from Spokane, WA at noon Pacific Time six days a week; The Rest of the Story in early evening. I trusted his news after I learned I couldn’t believe the TV network “news” readers. OH HOW I MISS PAUL HARVEY!!!!!!!
I miss this man immensely having listened faithfully through the years! He made one use their imagination trying to guess who or what he was talking about he challenged your mind something sadly lacking today! God bless you Paul Harvey and good day!
The fact that this video doesn't have a million views explaines why this country has BIG problems. The death of common sense has consequences. And here we are.
I will truly miss his voice and the wonderful stories he brought back to life for us to re remember. Paul simply had a way about him that was true and endearing. Definitely a good man
I've listened to the Late, Great Paul Harvey for over half of my life. Re-listen time and time again to his wise ways of living and communicating and I always will. Whoever wants to be the best man they can possibly be need only do 2 things. Listen to God, then listen to Paul Harvey. Even today Mr. Paul Harvey makes me a better man. Thank God for you Paul Harvey!!!

I "discovered" Paul Harvey very late in his career, in my 30's. I'm sad that I wasted my youth listening to others. Sir, you were never saluted by your peers because you had none. Good day.
There will never in the history of broadcasting nor journalism be another Paul Harvey I have spent countless days listening to your familiar voice, of which will be one of my most lasting memories sir. Rest in peace
I too have fond memories listening to The Rest of the Story every day on my car ride to school. What a voice. What a great purpose - to fill us daily with positivity and hope.
We grew up listening to Paul Harvey as daddy would religiously turn the radio over at the appropriate time like clockwork. Personally I loved listening to him. Thanks Daddy 💗
Paul Harvey was a part of my Radio life through a large part of my career. I worked at stations with formats ranging from Easy Listening to Rock that aired Paul. His delivery was iconic. So much so that when I was with ACN , we did parodies of his feature, The Rest of the Story through the 90’s. Unforgettable and truly unique.
I listened to Paul Harvey everyday at 12:15 on WHAM in Rochester, NY. I always found the time to sit and pay attention to Mr. Harvey. He had a way of presenting the news without bashing anyone or being a bore to anyone. I still have his story about “And God Made A Farmer.” On my Watch Later list here on TH-cam. What a great story.
I listened in the 70s early in the morning loading 2 small planes at Miami airport, can’t express how much it shaped or gave words to the way I thought….. to this day I’ve never quoted or recommended any other voice 1/2 as much… God bless his soul
I recall listening to Paul Harvey probably near the end of his broadcasts. It is good to listen to one again .He was a great speaker with his colorful statements in very simple words. And he was appreciated and understood.
I’m of a young appreciation generation of Paul Harvey- but undertook his words of wisdom and humor with a sense of seriousness and respect. When dad was out of high brow insight Paul could fill in that gap. Good day
Tell me why don’t they have his broadcasts from the past heard once again on certain radio station outlets across North America so that today’s current youthful generations of people are enlightened by his brilliance intelligence and articulate speeches?!!!!!
A man who could turn a phrase like no other. When I listened to his noon broadcasts, juat after he said "good day" I would shut the radio off. There was nothing worthy enough to follow him.
Being on both sides of the microphone over 60 years, I have found that a few words now and then are more effective than hours of 'speechifying' every night. It is the mood you set with your voice, not the content of the words you use. THAT is radio !!!!!! Paul Harvey set me on my voyages in radio, and I am grateful !
As a kid I would sometimes go with my dad in the summer when he we out of town on business and we always listened to PH great memories from the late 60s
I would listen to this man every chance I could. I remember when his son tried to fill his spot, but it just never was the same. I don't know why even to this day. Whenever I listen to this man speak. Somebody is cutting onions, and II can not help the emotions.
Fresh out of high school I married and worked on my father-n-law’s chicken farm. Every day at 12 o’clock we would make sure to eat lunch to mainly listen to Paul Harvey. America was so united in those days. Those days were so enjoyable. We worked hard but life was good. God was always involved in families. America was truly blessed. My family was poor just as the black families around. But, we had our families and love was very strong in our family.
Brought tears to my eyes. Just listening again to that soft, reassuring voice . Thanks Paul, you always seemed to calm me, and still do 😏🙏RIP my brother 😘
I remember visiting my grandparents in Arkansas as a youngster and grandpa sat at the kitchen table while grandma made lunch - but even then Paul's voice was the only one... as a child we knew to respect quiet and learned to ACTIVELY LISTEN (which is a lost art nowadays).
Paul was the masterful voice on the radio who had the magic to hold your attention on every sentence he smoke. I miss that. And the close was the most cleaver close of all good day.
Working on second shift as a diesel fleet mechanic , my lunch break was sometimes spent near the radio . It was Paul "Bear" Bryant of Alabama football fame .As his death just occured, it made me geat a tear in my eyes. And I'm from a rival team area . Louisiana. Thanks , Mr. Paul Harvey.
No one has mentioned that Paul was a man of deep Christian faith and once in awhile would slip in his daily broadcast a snippet of scripture verse or biblical principles. He was always careful not to sound too “religious” knowing most of his listeners were not interested in the gospel so he was respectful of everyone who listened! What great character!
I’m a 70-year-old veteran never saw action in the military, but I love my country enough to support her anyway I can. One of the inspirations I have to this day is going back on occasion and listening to Paul Harvey, just to hear his voice, his delivery, his poise, his experience and professionalism Send me back to the boy that I once was. my brother my father and I used to listen to him and the rest of the story all the time we sure could use him today.
Paul Harvey was a treasure! I know Mike Rowe is attempting to emulate him, but the original shines strong in our memories, who were priveledged to hear his voice and fascinating take on the news. I appreciated the quote in this speech, "self importance has ruined more journalists than bad liquor." Perhaps this is a malady in todays journalism, thus more humility would be a welcome attitude. Paul Harvey had wisdom and humility....well he had both in spades.
I would listen to him when I went to work with my dad a great man of wisdom and there will never be another like him and the best story orater of all time
I listened to The Rest of the Story all of my life. On the way to work in the morning, I heard the morning story. Driving home at the end of the work day, I listened once again. Then, and only then, could I carry on with the rest of my day.
What Ray Van der Laan is to Discipleship and Biblical understanding, Paul Harvey is to the Radio Journalist and the imagination and depth of mind froma voice that captivated America. And his comment about Journalists selling America short is priceless....and true! Repeatedly telling us the negative, when in fact we are the envy of the world!!! God Bless Paul...
I read here in the comments, that there are those that wish Mr. Harvey was still with us ! In the practical, I would agree ! But I too believe if Mr. Harvey were alive today, that after analyzing what happens on the day to day, I'm afraid he may be speechless ! And if not by choice, then by sensor ! As there are those that would love to claim responsibility for quieting most likely the Worlds most recognized Broadcast voice of all times ! Something poetic about the timing in all that ! As before the Woke could move to silence him, the Lord thought better of it, and called him home, before an attempt was made in trying to kill the Great American Spirit, that with every word he spoke, so demonstrated those true American philosophies, and principles ! May GOD rest your Soul, Mr. Harvey ! ♥️🥀♥️
That was beautiful. We are going to be having viewers tell their stories. The video will be up this week with the details. We would love to hear yours.
God gave him a unique job to 'strength the backbone' of America, no matter what may befall her. One of the reasons today why this nation is falling to pieces. Paul will be missed until he is replaced. After that he will only be missed.
Can't remember how many times someone asked me "Did you know...?" and I said yes, because Paul Harvey told me. "And now you know...the rest...of the story".
I remember listening to this Wiseman, and sitting in the Arizona prison system, maximum security the walls Florence when he said "jf you want to see the absolute scum of the earth, go to any prison during shift change."
He wore a toupee, but he could afford it. I met him when his wife was in the nursing home. He was one of the best. He did all his research without a computer, not an easy task back then. He is missed by many.💒
I absolutely loved Paul Harvey. An American treasure.
