That's advice, not a rule. If we're being real that's the first thing most people do when they get out of rehab cause they never listen to the reasons for not doing so. The problem was her having a felon in her house, not her starting a relationship. That's why the judge called her out after she tried to make it seem like that was the issue.

    • @mranderson718

@@Lindseyisloony of course it’s not a rule. It is, however, pretty sound advice as more often than not, early recovery relationships are very unhealthy and lead to relapse.

When I was single with children, I never brought anyone home. Not only for safety, but because my kids didn't need to meet a string of people who I was casually dating.
When I started seeing my now-husband, it was serious from the first date, but still was a month before I considered it and then only introduced him when I was pretty sure it was going to be an exclusive, long term relationship. Thirty years later, he's more of a father to my son than my ex (his bio father).
Be smart, people. Not just women, but anyone dating. Think of your children, how they see you as an example of how to live. Don't let just anyone be hanging around and try to make better choices for those little ones.

And that just seems like a way to try to blame others for something that YOU have done. "Oh, your honor, I'm a good girl but I just hung out with some of some mean old people who got me hooked on drugs or got me to help them rob a convenience store of persuaded me to help them beat up that old homeless man. But for them, I would have been nominated for sainthood." That's a bunch of baloney. If you don't agree with people breaking the law, you don't tend to want to hang out with people who break the law. PERIOD. Well done, Judge Boyd.

I used to love after school specials. They were shocking to us at the time and showed stories about SA, pregnancy, trauma, etc. suffered by a teen. They were very informative and more information on television than we had in those days. They were like Lifetime movies, but they were totally catered for an adolescent, and they were really popular.

Maybe you arent able to understand human emotions unless theyre in exaggerated cartoon form. Cuz i can see she was immediately shook soon as she heard “im not giving you a year” and her emotions turned from shock, to dismay, to annoyance and defeat and maybe even a touch of “whats wrong with me” at the end.

I think he wasn't a complete stranger, but some con she visited or got calls from while he was in jail. She is distancing herself, and obfuscating the fact she was complicit in his crimes by saying her was a complete stranger.
