    As a criminal defense attorney, the first woman is one of the things that I find the most frustrating. It’s so hard to ask a judge over and over to do something you know they’re not going to do and you know isn’t best for your client. But you have to ask. That woman doesn’t need to go home for the holidays; she needs to be in a structured treatment program.

  • @Administrator_O-5

    There are those that would say Judge Boyd was too harsh regarding the holidays. Here's the issue(s), Judge Boyd isn't there to make friends, she's not there to be nice, now Judge Boyd just happens to be extremely friendly & exceptionally nice overall. She's NOT looking at this from a "how can I punish and/or hurt these defendants the most" POV. She's looking at it, like she ALWAYS does, "how can I stop this person from destroying theirs & their families lives, long enough to get them the help they need, that will actually help them be successful.". If she was to allow this lady out on bond for the holidays, she is going to use, because she's been in custody & therefore hasn't had access. If that lady then gets a laced batch, ODs or gets plastered & decides to drive & hits someone, that is on Judge Boyd. Keeping her in custody is not only the smartest thing to do, it is absolutely the right thing to do for everyone, especially the defendant.

    • @jenx5870
      @jenx5870 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I don't think anyone watching this would think she is being too harsh. Judge Boyd explained her rationale very well. If you want to be home for the holidays, don't get in trouble with the law around the holidays. Better still, don't get in trouble at all.

    Id tell them they have to be tested every single day for a year, and pay for it out of pocket. And if they miss or fail one time, its 5 years prison no question.

      She knows this is recorded. She is speaking to the world when she “preaches”, and she knows that. No one who listens will ever end up in a court in the first place. Doubt she has that confused.

      Yes, perhaps in this case, but perhaps the judge’s “preaching” will sink in another case like this. We can only hope. - you can “lead a horse to water but can’t make it drink”. Hopefully, some of “the horses” will drink. 🙏🏾

    "Do Her Way"
    To do one's way is unacceptable. One should have one's way done for one.
    Also, to have ones massively punished is just the worst. The massively didn't do anything wrong.

    Why is the lawyer allowing the client to be examined by the judge?
