Good cooking, butter with some oil is nicest base for frying. I still remember the taste of 8am breakfast when I was 3, that my grandmother cooked on a fuel stove for when the men came back from milking. Nice steak cooked in butter in a Windsor walled small wrought iron pan. Probably her wedding gift.
You can try them with cheese, and if you make them into oval shapes (not flattened), they won't leak out. In Puerto Rico it's called "relleno de papa", and they use seasoned mince inside

Well Cheryl, I live and learn everyday...... I've never heard about adding salt until the water has boiled first, otherwise it takes longer to come to a boil if its added to cold water, thats a complete news item for me 😮 Cheers DougT
