So glad to hear the ringing endorsement of the RAV4. I just bought one to use as my adventure-mobile. Already removed the backseats and built a sleeping platform. This channel is what finally convinced me to do it. Thanks, Tristan!
Wow, all those shots are so fabulous. I know I could not climb it. Thank you so much for taking me along ,the photography, the aerials everything is definitely eye candy ,Wow.
As a fellow ToyotaRAV4 roadtripper ( who by the way is 2+decades past middle-age😉) I am always thrilled when you are out in the Rav4! And everything about this video with the "I just wanted to enjoy what I discovered" the view, the earlier than usual campspot, the details about your setup, all make it a classic SUVRVing episode and the reason I am an Adventure Knowhow member.
Tristan, Thanks for Another beautiful adventure. That camp spot was stunning! I love your drone vids and the music you choose. Very soothing and calming
That you changed your plans speaks volumes. And in the most positive of senses. You have to stand back sometimes and just take in the beauty of the landscape. Great video Tristan. Enjoyed it.
I haven't been to Snowyside Lake, but have been to Box Lake on the other side of the canyon. The drive from McCall to Yellowpine to Warm Lake to Lowman is a great backcountry drive. I've done it several times. There are a couple of mines to check out along the way and hot springs.
Gonna have to return to that area next spring, so much more to see that I wasn't able to get to last time. McCall is a very interesting area to explore, loved seeing the Smokejumper base and going to the farmers market too. Central Idaho has so much. Thanks for sharing these adventures. Can't wait as I'm finally heading out to SUVRV fulltime this January, first stop Superstition Mountains.
this has been my favorite viewing adventure in a long while absolutely stunning mountain range ❤ i get ever so nervous you climbing on top of rocky mountains be safe
Loved your abrupt decision to truly enjoy the moment. The longer I’m retired, the more I give myself permission to just stop and experience. I truly think it is good for the soul. Thanks for another amazing video!
I like how you decided to embrace the positive vibes of your location and stayed put! I think that's a great idea, and one I'd like to embrace more often when I'm travelling. Sometimes when you're on a road trip, it's easy to get preoccupied with making destinations or mileage goals, and in the process, fail to embrace the moment when a particular place or situation resonates with us. A beautiful day and/or place sometimes has something unique to offer us that is ephemeral and maybe can't be recaptured at another time. You listened to your feelings about that place & time and you seem to have benefitted from it! 🧘♂
Enjoyed watching you summit! I fully appreciate that you share your adventures. I did like that you took time to enjoy where you were. I know you are making a living with videos, but do enjoy the amazing things you are doing. You won't believe it, I didn't when I was young, but time flies by and then you find you can't do the things you use to do. Love your channel. I hope to see many more of your adventures. They inspire me to have a few of my own RAV4 camp-outs. Kate
Our favorite part is the start to finish of this episode! We find our best travels happen when using the "plan" as a serving suggestion not a recipe.. Keep being you!!
Idaho was my stomping ground during the early days of REI and backpacking in the 1970's. I am glad to have been there and would not trade that experience for anything ... There are many talented drone photographers out there on youtube but my favorite two are "SUV RVing" and "thePOVchannel". Good job!
Tristan, thank you for stepping out into spontaneous enjoyment of life! Snowslide mountain top scared me, it looks like the boulders could shift, also I didn't know ladybugs were found so high up. We have been to McCall but of course being seniors taking a ride around the lake there was the moat adventureous we got. I love alao how you shared your sleeping car setup and even sharing how you heat up water. I like the big bottle pump too. Been watching your channel for a long time.
Tristan every time you fly the drone over the edg of a cliff I can’t breathe! It too much for me! This whole climb was radical! Fall is beautiful!❤️😀🇺🇸🌏⭐️
I have lived in Utah for about 44 years but Idaho has been my favorite state to vacation in and Lick Creek Road is one of my favorite roads in the state. Thanks again for an excellent video of this area.
Wow ! What a Climb ! What a View ! And the Wolverines must come out and about at night ...?? Lot of ROCK on that climb and all around ! Thanks for Sharing, Tristan !
We love snowslide lake. The first time was years ago. A storm blew in I still joke with my wife that it was a two dog night to keep warm. Thanks for the memory
I have backpacked this area before. We didn't go to Snowslide Lake, but went to Thirtythree Lake, which is in the same area. There's no trail and is a bushwhack with cairns to follow. It is full of fish and I'm sure Snowslide Lake is as well. We didn't see any wolverines. The whole Lick Creek/Loon Creek area is amazing. I'm so glad I discovered your channel!
Thanks for sharing with us. Glad you replaced the drone because, as for me, I REALLY appreciate the drone footage. Knowing that every ounce counts while hiking/backpacking it’s even more appreciated! Beautiful area and great set-up in your RAV4
Fantastic views,Tristan. Take your time & enjoy it all for yourself as we all do watching your videos. Love that you climb the high points instead of just filming the safe flat area. Be safe!!😊❤😮
Absolutely gorgeous!! I think this is about the best recent video you've done - like a return to the videos of old where you hiked, climbed and explored mountain areas. Thanks a bunch!
Nothing super exciting or spectacular but I love your adventures all the same. It's the realness of your hiking & camping trips that makes your videos my favorite viewing; that and your great appreciation of being out in nature and seeing all you can see. Your camerawork is topnotch as well. I got to visit that area around McCall this summer and absolutely loved it especially all of the gorgeous rivers and lakes.
Two days ago we drove from Upper Payette lake (great Tenkara fishing) back to McCall and up and over Lick Pass in the first snow of the season in our Sprinter van rear wheel drive. Great road and even more fun with 2-3” of early winter snow 😂 Aired down and didn’t need chains. Stayed a couple days before heading on. Thanks for inspiring us to explore further and deeper into Wolverine country! P.S. We enjoyed a week at Swasey Peak based on your vid last year. Picked and roasted piñon one nuts. Great stuff.
Ya sure did (catch some great weather)! Did you know that throughout northern Idaho several notorious and not so notorious, hate groups planted themselves in that area. Documentaries have been made about them as well as exploring a lot of the local folks attitudes and belief's supporting their stay. The reason I mention it is that in my life and times, all my travels thru said country, driving and hiking similar roads and trails, too often one of my immediate reactions to such astoundingly beautiful terrain is one of profound peace and ineffable joy. Within this visceral reaction is the notion: I wish the world could come experience these mountains and through such witness know some of the joy, and I swear there'd be no more hate and wars and killing amongst humans, as the mountains are such an overwhelming source of humility building and spiritual growth. You know whudda mean?
Love this type of video. Love the serendipitous adventures and the magical first approach to the lake. Love how you stop to marvel at the tiny frogs. But please explain why you're back using the RAV4. I like it!
People are always so surprised when I’m in the RAV4! From the very first video where I showed the Land Cruiser, I talked about how the plan was to continue to use the RAV4 and just switch between vehicles on trips, and that’s what I’ve continued to do.
Awesome place. Love your channel. I missed what is happening with your Land Cruiser after your trip to Colorado. My wife just bought a 1999 100 series.
Growing up in a small town near this area, my family went camping, hiking and fishing in this area a couple of times a year in the 1970's. Always looked forward to coming over Lick Creek Summit and that awesome view. I don't live close by anymore so I don't get a chance to visit the area very often. Loved the view from the drone. Thanks.
Tristan central Idaho was my favorite outdoor play zone. The state is amazing. Being from the flat lands of the midwest I love the mountains. Thanks for another great video.
Words cannot even describe how beautiful our planet is. wow what magnificent views! great video and glad you enjoyed the views more then filming!!! those oasis in the middle of the green
I love teeccino! I have used it in place of coffee while cutting back on caffeine! It's pretty good stuff, I enjoy it with cream. Enjoyed the scenery and the adventure!
Enjoyed this one!! We have rafted the Middle Fork, Main Salmon and Lower Salmon. So mainly have seen the country in-between. thanks for a view of something different. You continue to do a great job with these adventure videos. thank you!!
So this past weekend I got to check out Vermillion Falls in northwestern Colorado, which I think you featured in a video a couple years ago! Amazing spot and I'm always grateful for all great places you show us!
a pleasant journey, thanks, liked the climb up the mountain, and the views, the drone video up top, the drive and the drone video thereof, the relaxed pace, and maybe a new drink, my favorite is Celestial Seasonings Peach Passion or Cherry Berry for evening drinks, thanks for sharing...
Really enjoyed the video. You are and continue to be such an inspiration. I liked the part of you hiking that jagged edge up to the peak. The drone shots weren’t bad either 😝
Just caught up with this video. I have followed your travels for a while now. I live in McCall and frequent the Lick Creek Canyon area all summer long. Nice hiking video to Snowslide Lake. I know the IMTUFF 100 route as I help do radio communications for the runner safety.
Very cool to see you checking out my home mountain range! If you're ever back here, try climbing Foolhen Peak. It sits on the precipice of the Lick Creek canyon. Pretty easy climb and the views are massive.
This channel is totally underrated.
He does a good job
I appreciate that!
He respects nature & thats what we like. Interesting places he wanders too.
Amen! Tristan's Awesome! :)
I agree. He’s pleasant to listen to and knowledgeable. I love how he really takes us with him.
We are all so fortunate that you have chosen to share your amazing adventures! Thank you for your beautiful work!
Thank you for watching!
So glad to hear the ringing endorsement of the RAV4. I just bought one to use as my adventure-mobile. Already removed the backseats and built a sleeping platform. This channel is what finally convinced me to do it. Thanks, Tristan!
You are so good at what you do, both the adventuring and the recording it for us! Love it!
Thanks! 😁
I like the slower pace. It was good to see you relax and breathe it all in. Safe travels
Wow, all those shots are so fabulous. I know I could not climb it. Thank you so much for taking me along ,the photography, the aerials everything is definitely eye candy ,Wow.
That camp site is picture perfect.
As a fellow ToyotaRAV4 roadtripper ( who by the way is 2+decades past middle-age😉) I am always thrilled when you are out in the Rav4! Spectacular filming. I feel a bit dizzy watching you along that ridge
ahhh, that scares me.

If you had a cute Jack Russell terrier you could be Foresty Forest's brother. Love seeing these peaks.
Loved your abrupt decision to truly enjoy the moment. The longer I’m retired, the more I give myself permission to just stop and experience. I truly think it is good for the soul. Thanks for another amazing video!

That’s some of the best scenery that I have seen. Amazing 👍😎👍
We’re going to have to try the Teecino. Sounds delicious for the reasons you mentioned. I have something called Moonbrew and it’s good also. 🍵 ☕️
Tristan, thank you for stepping out into spontaneous enjoyment of life! Snowslide mountain top scared me, it looks like the boulders could shift, also I didn't know ladybugs were found so high up. Love to come along with you to all your adventures, great views 😊❤

Great to see you back in the RAV4
Frogs, Lady Bugs, and Wolverines??? How random lol. Great video, as always. Those drone shots were absolutely epic. Safe travels, friend!
Be thankful you didn’t fall in the water and I wish you would have fixed that problem. Love you videos. Thanks
Love fall hiking and camping - thanks for sharing that spectacular area with us!
What a beautiful place. Your videos are such a treat. Thank you for taking me to places I will never go. Take care, Tristan.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
That is beautiful. I’m glad that you decided to stop and relax.

Fantastic!!! Thank you...
Idaho is the best kept secret of all the lower 48 states IMO. You can still enjoy it all by yourself and never see anyone all day. Great video.
Agreed. I’ve always said it’s the most underrated state in the West.
We love snowslide lake. The first time was years ago. A storm blew in I still joke with my wife that it was a two dog night to keep warm. Thanks for the memory
Easy to understand why you would want to stop take a deep breath and just enjoy such beautiful country. Can almost smell the trees there at the end.
Thanks for taking me along to see something really beautiful that I would otherwise never get to see. Great video!
I have backpacked this area before. We didn't go to Snowslide Lake, but went to Thirtythree Lake, which is in the same area. There's no trail and is a bushwhack with cairns to follow. Right in my neighborhood. ❤
Thanks for sharing with us. Glad you replaced the drone because, as for me, I REALLY appreciate the drone footage. Knowing that every ounce counts while hiking/backpacking it’s even more appreciated! Beautiful area and great set-up in your RAV4
The mountains are my cathedral. Beautiful, serene, and peaceful. Thank you.
Every turn or rise could leave me breathless in that area! Thanks, Tristan!
Beautiful country.
That view with all the granite domes looks like the High Sierra.
Fantastic views,Tristan. Take your time & enjoy it all for yourself as we all do watching your videos. Love that you climb the high points instead of just filming the safe flat area. Be safe!!😊❤😮
Enjoyed the video as always. It was cool to see Esso gas station signs.
Used to drink Teecino all the time. Not sure why I quit. Love your beautiful videos
great job
Absolutely gorgeous!! I think this is about the best recent video you've done - like a return to the videos of old where you hiked, climbed and explored mountain areas. Thanks a bunch!
The ridge to Snowslide Peak was sharp and knife-like narrow. Beautiful...
Dang that was quite a hike! What a fun time in life.
I wouldn't mind living in Idaho. I miss the West. I have a Rav4. Love it. Bought it new in 07.
The entire video was a pleasure. The lake and climb were great, and the drone footage through the valley was spectacular.
Loved our Rav.
enjoyed the peace and beauty. a perfect day!
That climb and view was amazing! I would have sat up there forever enjoying that view!
That area is amazing. Traveled to yellow pine this year. That lick Creek pass is no joke especially if someone is coming from the other direction

We have a rav. It does everything from get groceries to drive cross country to go overland towing a trailer. Highly recommend it.

Great trip thanks for taking us along! No bearspray? The summit views remind me of Foresty Forest videos, love those views!
I have a 2011 RAV4 with the V6. It has 126000 miles plus, and it has mucho power. It's a pocket rocket👍
Your new drone is taking amazing footage! So crystal clear and sharp!
The nez pierce and Selway Bitterroot national forest are among the thickest, lush forest with lots of greenery of trees. Nice hike.
Nice to see you out our way, Tristan. It's a fantastic area. An outdoors person could spend an entire summer doing things off Lick Creek Road.
Majestic is the first word that comes to mind...👍👍 thank you
Another wonderful adventure. Thank you for sharing with us.
Tristan central Idaho was my favorite outdoor play zone. The state is amazing. Being from the flat lands of the midwest I love the mountains. Thanks for another great video.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching.
Beautiful! I did that hike about 30 years ago. I had forgotten how rugged it was. Central Idaho is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing your adventures!
Totally enjoyable adventure ❣️ I liked the whole thing but loved the tiny frogs❣️Thanks, Tristan. 😊👍
Enjoy the moment!!❤it was beautiful Thanks!!
Great chapter! Beautiful shot composition and enjoy your talking about your process in such a pleasing and engaging way.
Thanks for taking me along on your hike and showing all the beautiful scenery.

Beautiful country. I have driven through Idaho several times. Need to go back sometime and do some hiking.
You are a mountain goat! Another beautifully produced segment. You’re living the dream:)
That was beautiful Tristan 🤩😍🤩. Thank you, & loved the drone footage! ! Looking forward to what's next 👍
