@@naveenthemachine I don't think the hybrid versions are bad, but only because Toyota hybrids are almost always good drivetrains. This one, however, kind of sucks. I really don't see why anyone wouldn't pay a little more and get the hybrid, when the gas savings would pay for the difference in a few years.
@@naveenthemachine Hey! I've seen your comments over on the Kirk Kriefels channel. It's hilarious to see those Lexus/Toyota fan boys get so angry. Keep up the comments!
So glad I bought a new 2022 luxury, smooth, V6 AWD , regular gas this past January. Have put 14,000 plus miles on it and just finished a 5500 mi. trip, great ride.
I thought this 4 cylinder was going to be cheaper than the out going one with the more expensive engine and the stronger parts that support that bigger engine.
Thx for the honest review. Just as I suspected. I'm hanging onto my previous version (Gen 4) RX350 with the N/A V6. Mine's got the Luxury Package & is paid off.
Appreciate you guys being able to re-evaluate your initial impression... So few journalists/reviewers have that integrity. Seems to me this is really just a Rav4 with better sound deadening, fancier door cards, and a nightmare technology experience.

You can turn the brightest of the screen down for night or set for night driving. The turbo engine with the new transmission is incredible and the car is so quiet and smooth. I can't see these guys driving a luxury vehicle and that is perfectly okay.

I'm relieved that someone realizes the infotainment display is large for the sake of being large. Seems like there was zero effort into designing a unique cabin
That's not even a large display. The Mercedes and Cadillac have much much larger displays 30 even 50 in. All things being equal the buyers wanted larger displays and the oem responded

Watching and listening to the road test of the 2023 Lexus RX350 (with a turbo I4) reminded me of my 2018 Mazda CX5 (n/a 2.5L I4) which I traded in for a 2022 Lexus RX350 with its V6. I love the smooth power and sound of my Lexus V6, reminded me of the V6 power in my older 2007 Nissan Murano. I hope Lexus brings back a V6 to the RX350 if government regulations don't prevent that.
Get over it, everyone is going to more torque less cylinders less pollution engines… Lexus is not alone, Mercedes, BMW, Audi all converted years ago, so quit your whiny nonsense 😢… go buy some outdated American POS if you want a gas guzzler.
@@naveenthemachine I think Toyota, as a whole, is too conservative in their designs. They seem to rely more on on their brand, and reliability history to sell cars, than in cutting age stuff. They are the Glock of the car industry.
The old V6 used regular gas. The turbo 4 requires premium fuel. So the extra 2mpg of the 4 cylinder turbo is negated by the added fuel cost. Why bother. The hybrid NX350h will run regular (premium recommended not required). The hybrid is the way to go here.
As excellent as savagegeese reviews are, they've collectively killed my interest in new cars and left me disillusioned in my search for something that's both great and less than $60k.
This is the best selling mid size SUV. Lexus is the first to introduce a crossover and this new generation is simply the best. If you love tech and gadgets, this car is for you. Awesome vehicle.
My theory is that they're doing this like end panic because of electric cars not needing grills, so they overshot the mark. And maybe they think it looks more luxurious and impressive. Maybe they were just damn bored and out of ideas. - In any case, it is an expression of imbalance.

As someone who lives north suburbs of toronto, with a big chinese population, these rx350's are everywhere. Hearing you guys describe it as ultra quiet and sleeper mode means it is the perfect car for the folks that i see day in day out driving these. This is going to be a massive seller forsure at least in my area
Yes, they're very popular with older Chinese drivers in San Francisco, too. That demographic buys Asian consistently. A German car is considered too showy and unreliable. Quite a few Acuras out in those neighborhoods, too.
I live in toronto and for me I associate the car with middle aged white women who have NO idea what a turn signal is, who park on the sidewalk and wait for a light with half the fucking car in the intersection already.
Can do it through main screen software or clicking the hatch button to stop it at the height you want and then holding it down for a few seconds I believe.
Also it took me 1-2 hours to get use to the steering wheel etc! just focus on the drive! the HUD is awesome and the safety systems are not too intrusive! They resolved all the issues with all the pre-production software annoyances with the beeps and the front cross traffic alert! it only beeps if the car is accelerating into an oncoming car! also the auto brake when it senses a car at certain speeds is wonderful! very very smooth! LOVE IT! you don't even have to activate cruise control in order for it to operate. The 8+ months wait for the Rx500h was well well worth it!
Brilliant. Just the perfect amount of snark and humor as well as technical nuance. Have owned Lexus and Toyota. Hated the rear hatch speed and the horrible historical menus from Lexus clearly demonstrated the design and ergonomic folks hate each other. The move to touch screen has helped and finally the lawyers said it was ok to speed up the rear hatch speeds.
This decade is clearly about transitioning everything to full electric. You can see manufacturers skimping and cutting so many corners on new or refreshed products, which just means they are putting resources into electric architecture and technology research. Aside from boutique manufacturers, the age of the ICE engine is coming to a near end.
Thank you for being honest. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who absolutely hate small displacement 4-banger turbo engine. There is more to an engine than just torque and horsepower numbers on paper. And don't get me started on that grill.
Personally I like the look of thin window height, Camaro style, and realistically, with all cars now getting up so high (all SUV and tall EV Hatchback) you will still see out of this window
I bought my dad’s 15 Highlander V6 when he upgraded to a 20 Highlander XLE Hybrid a couple years ago. I’ve been very impressed with both. I love the V6 and lack of safety electronics. It can’t beep at you for every little thing. The hybrid fuel economy is ridiculous, easily over the 35 mpg est. figure all the time. The V6 gets 23 during recent 2000 mile road trip. The softex seats have been great in our RAV4 we had for over 7 years, and age great in the Hybrid. I can’t see why you would buy the Lexus over the Highlander anymore.
A few items you mentioned as flaws are actually not. The rear lift back opening height can be custom set with a three-second touch of the button. The inattentive driver beeping can be turned off in settings. There is a shortcut menu in the touchscreen for frequently accessed, it's right next to the climate button. And the items you're missing in the gauge cluster that got "moved" to the HUD are all still available in the gauge cluster, you just have to set them in preferences.
@EBone12355 I am in similar thought process as you. The majority of people who buy this do not care too much about the 4 banger. They just want something that is reliable (which Lexus has in spades), quiet, and comfortable. Like the video says, they are car enthusiasts, and a lot of auto journalists basically complain about the same things. I am pretty sure a multi billion dollar company has done enough market research to realize who their audiences are and what those customers want.
I own a 2023 RX350 and I disagree with most of your unfairly negative opinions. This is a superb car, and I feel no "generic luxury" as you say so! The HUD is great and the car accelerates very smoothly and without any "rattling noise" that you claim in your review, and the new technologies are just useful and easy to use. I owned BMW X3 for years, and test drove X5, Acura MDX, and couple of other cars. For me Lexus RX350 was a no brainer and it was the best $65K ever spent in my life (got the Luxury trim). After 4.5 months and 2800 miles, I love this car more and more every time that I drive it or look at it.
Thank you for this! I have my heart set on a 2024 RX350h Luxury, and I am about to pull the trigger. I test drove a couple of weeks ago and the ML sound system blew me away. My first new car in 18 years and my 60th birthday present. 😃

I rode in one and had similar thoughts... It was great, quiet, comfortable... But so is almost everything else. Once upon a time, that "L" on the front made you feel like you were making "the smart" luxury buy. Now it just feels like your taking an "L".
Spot on review. I spent month deciding if it's worth the wait or pull the trigger on a 2022 RX350 instead. The updated info center is nice and all but I had serious issue with a 4-Cylinder in a SUV this size. After testing a 2022 NX with the same engine I went ahead and bought a 2022 RX350 F-Sport. The engine is really lacking on a lighter SUV such as the NX. There is no way that it would feel adequate in the RX frame. I'm glad I am not the only one feeling this way about the engine that are being put in these.
Sienna is minivan use same powertrain but bigger size prove it’s not issue at all. Toyota knows 99% people who buying Lexus rx don’t go above 3000rpm 😂
Wait until they put it in the 4Runner. It’s going to be such a slow pig. What people want: 400hp V6 hybrid from Tundra. What Toyota will give consumers: shitty 4 cyl hybrid that can’t get out of its own way. Toyota is my pick for daily driver because of reliability, but they sure do love fucking up choices like this.
@@joeracer302 toyota don’t actually care people who want v6 or more, and current sienna waiting list 12month in USA . Toyota don’t give a fuk cuz they can sell it
You guys are right. I love the quietness (Sound proofing) but this car has been a very ordinary experience after so much of hype. A rattley 4 cylinder will always feel like a 4 cylinder as far as driving impressions are concerned, then to add insult to injury the fuel efficiency is nothing impressive. Overall, this is a disappointment.
From my understanding, this car has a built in turbo with a 4 cylinder engine. So the turbo should make the car drive like a 6 cylinder car with the false sense that the car isn't really a 4 cylinder. In respect to your comment, cars with turbo is just how it is made because of the emission standards.
Totally agree. The only reason anyone would buy it now is they are expecting reliability and that may be questionable since it is an under powered straining engine that might not hold up very well. Everyone is commenting it is related to emissions, well they are using the V6 in the larger SUV and Trucks. So I question if this is why they chose this path to the straining 4 cylinder, they should have made it an option to get the V6. Also, what is the difference in the RX and the NX except the NX is smaller but the same powertrain. I am a Lexus fan and drive the current design with the V6 but I am disappointed.
I have a 2017 RX350 and, after looking at the new model, I will be keeping my 2017 for years to come. The new infotainment is arguably worse than the old one in terms of hassle and lack of hard buttons. They also did not add a torque vectoring rear diff, which I would have expected at a minimum since they've had it in the RAV4 and Highlander for a few years already. Very disappointing, and it means the Highlander has a better drivetrain in addition to more space. The front end is also ugly as sin. I'd rather have the overstated grill on the 2017 than the weird hood bulge which wraps around the top of the grill on the new model. My only gripe with the 2017 is the 8-speed transmission. I wish they had kept the old 6-speed which is much smoother.
@@mervinprone I couldn't care less about Apple CarPlay. I think this means a lot of 2017 and older RX owners may start looking for a replacement, after being burned by this, and the complete lack of empathy from Lexus...........it's going to hurt them.
The previous version is the best looking RX ever. The controversial grill and sharp edges were all perfect 10/10. Especially the 2016 model. Subsequent updates messed up the design a little bit but it still remained a great design. This new version is not bad. Infact, I like it but I loved the sharp edges a lot more. I would be happier if they go back to something close to the 2016 model.
I agree, I currently have a 2013 X5 and when it wears out ill probably go for a clean low mileage 4th gen RX350 in ruby red with the black interior. I just sold a 2014 ES300H with the ruby red paint job and already kinda miss it. 😅
Don’t cluster everyone into your opinion that the previous version was “the best looking ever”. The best looking to YOU not everyone else. Lexus did not “mess up” subsequent updates. The 23 update is the best TO ME.
Sorry. That ugly floating pillar design kills what would be a decent looking CUV. I think the 2 steps older generation is the sweet spot in terms of exterior design (AL10 platform).
I've always been a huge Lexus fan, but after watching years of Savagegeese videos, I just wouldn't be able to justify paying this much for a vehicle with stamped steel control arms.
Japanese luxury has always been 1.5 generations behind whether its the chassis or the engine. Aluminum control arms will probably make it in 2028 or so. That said, the material of the lower arm is probably the last thing that our parents/grandparents care about when they look to buy this car lol

I've worked for Lexus for 10 years as a service advisor. Sadly over the years I've had to watch our "premium" customer service slowly diminish closer to that of a Toyota dealership. We went from offices to build personal relationships with our clients to working in a fish bowl and herding or guests threw like cattle. Just like this RX not feeling premium enough the same is happening to our dealership experience taking a massive dive. Soon enough Lexus will be just another Acura or Hyundai product.

A $55K luxury SUV with a four cylinder that sounds like a four cylinder. A lot of people in my circle come to me for car advice because I am an automotive engineer. A good friend was about to buy a new RX350. I told him, if he was smart, buy the 2022 model with normally aspirated V6 which is one of the best V6's ever produced for decent power, long term reliability and durability and NVH. He bought a 2022 and couldn't be happier. Kind of a jump ball if the new RX350 is any better from a styling perspective compared to outgoing model. New RX is more conservative and depends on your preference...kind of like the new Honda Civic. Also, a side note, anybody who buys a Hybrid is a sucker. PS. a laughable slip was Mark kept calling the new RX the NX which has the same crappy, rattly 4 cyl. No surprise.

I can live with the trade offs getting 45-50 mpg combined. Good video guys 👍
I miss the V6, but we have a 22 NX350 and I though the engine was fairly refined if not invigorating. It certainly felt more isolated from the cabin than my 16 RX350's V6 bc it vibrates a little much at idle.
That HUD controls would drive me crazy. There isn't much I like about it except that it is a "Lexus". I think my daughters Mazda CX5 is better and much cheaper.
Thats the beauty, Mazda doesnt carry the burden like Toyota/Lexus does, they have all the freedom to make nice quality cars for the right amount of price. While on the other hand Toyota is beeing fucked on both sides. It cannot use super nice materials and build quality cause thats reserved for Lexus only, while at the same time its loosing its status bang per buck to KIA/Hyundai products. While Lexus cannot compete to a true Luxury manufacturers like Germans, Volvo and Genesis cause it shares their platforms and drivetrains with Toyota.
I mean, 4-cylinders have replaced 6-cyls in luxury brands here in Europe years ago, so it’s not shocking at all. So is the fact that the base engine is not refined enough, encouraging to go for higher grade. That is kinda smart for Lexus to do and encourage more fuel efficient and environment-concious hybrid.
Its a little baffling to me that they'd offer this with a non-hybrid option. In so many other vehicles (Sienna - a vehicle I own) this seems to be a good way to go - by simply negating the non-hybrid they remove a ton of development time and some of the complaints with how it drives would also go away. Others would crop up of course but this is a vehicle that it would make sense to have hybrid-only variants. Since so many things ride on the K TNGA it is... strange... that Toyota of all companies would have these outlier models. also inb4 Lexus minivan. Name it the.. Previa.
About 10/15 years ago luxury brands use to sell luxury features. Nowadays luxury brands sells luxury badge. The new 22Nx base model don't even comes with a petty sunroof and get 4 cylinder rav4 engine after spending nearly 41k. No wonder why kia, Hyundai and mazda are shining.
I've always thought a Lexus felt generic in some way, I mean they're high quality and durable, and hopefully reliable with the new engine. But like you said it doesn't feel special like a premium or luxury car should. Also I'm so glad you've touch on the 50-70k 4 cylinders, why do they think that is luxury. When I hear luxury I do not think of a 4 cylinder, especially when it overall performance isn't better than an out going V6. I'd much rather own an MDX, X5, or GLE450 than this, but most will lease it and think they're supreme over everyone.

I have worked in high-end dealerships and been around, researched and owned many cars from Hondas to Chrysler, Ford, Mercades E.S, BMW (enjoyed the 3 series love the 7) Acura (one of my favs) Toyota/Lexus, and if I had to choose one single car it would be the Lexus LSh for its exceptionally beautiful design, power and reliability and I absolutely love the new RX (Which I have owned 4 hybrids). Since I discovered Lexus, I have bought but never kept any other brand. I tend to delve a bit deeper than most when I spend my money and Toyota/Lexus is among the few car companies actually making a committed and concerted effort in environmental and sustainable products. With true tested and proven reliability there is less waste while still providing a high level of sustainable quality and luxury. And with their new sharable platform across models and future commitment to electrification they are moving in the right direction. They were after all, the first to implement an electric/hybrid powertrain that others are now emulating. This new RX has something for everyone without more than you need in each version. Comfort, efficiency, utility, performance, value, and sustainable luxury materials which is the only true form. Mercedes, Cadillac, Audi will soon begin to put screens on their ceilings to raise the imaginary bar because 'bling' is all they do consistently well. And the Hyundai (GV), that doesn't even have a dealership network, feel that they have to jump on the bandwagon. At the end of the day, something has got to give don't ya think? If the current semi-conductor shortage and its huge impact on production is anything to go by, we're all in for a rude wakeup call. Let's not engage in the gluttony and draining of resources at the cost of their environmental impact. With current rules and laws no one actually needs a vehicle scooting from zero to 60 in 3 seconds! That is irresponsible and downright stupid. What you may call "average luxury" is what the folks who are ACTUALLY spending their own cash call, just right.
Lexus has really dropped the ball with the RX. Oh it will sell to their client base who have grown accustom to accepting compromise. Other manufacturers see the premium brand differently than just a nice living room on wheels and focus additionally on dynamics and performance. Thankfully.

As a Lexus owner, and an owner of an IS 350 with the same 2GR-FKS V-6 that was recently removed from the RX lineup, it pains me to hear that the new I-4 turbo is not a worthy replacement. It's more than possible to make a smooth and refined four-cylinder - look at what BMW and Audi/VW have been doing for years. My wife has a 330i, and though it's got a _four-popper_, I don't feel like I'm driving some cheap rental car when I drive it. It's got no more vibration at idle than my IS 350 does. Considering the T24A-FTS is newer than the B48, you would think maybe Lexus have applied the latest tech to make it smooth. That they haven't is disappointing. Having said that, I am sure that, based on how well the relatively-unrefined last-gen NX sold, Lexus will have no issues selling thousands of these a month.
Totally agree with your conclusion. We got a 2022 NX hybrid and after driving it for 6 months I have also concluded that Lexus is not a luxury brand anymore. Sure the hybrid system works great and MPG is amazing but the material used for in and out of the vehicle is same as (if not worse than)Toyota RAV4. I realized it first when took the car to an automatic carwash when everything was moving once the blower started drying the car. The doors are and sound hollow. The interior has already started rattling although this might be because of the first year production and Lexus hasn’t perfected the production line yet (at least in Canada plant). I am coming from a 2018 Audi Q3 and I well know the definition of interior quality from that car and our NX is far behind in that regard. I haven’t seen or driven the new RX yet but on the price alone I think there are better options out there.
Remember ,this is just your opinion and experience with the car ,I know a few people who owns audi or bmw and they say it is trash ,yeah ,it drive damn good but till the time the need to repair it ,and it happens very often...the same with interior materials, audi is a plastic car,bmw better ,but still messy brand...I would not ever buy bmw. And about mercedes ,is I think tje best of them ,my parents have e220 2018 ,interior creaks, not much but for a PREMIUM is a joke...😅 Honestly ,I am messing around ,what ever anyone want to buy now ,must be naive he gets ,reliable car...mercedes, bmw, audi, lexus, does not matter ,same pseudo premium cars with dozens of unnecessary screens and technology...for we have to pay ,instead making a really reliable cars.
As nice as this car is, I simply cannot justify myself on dropping 60k on a luxury vehicle with a turbo 4 under the hood. Not that I can afford this car anyway
I went Mazda this time simply for this reason. My ONLY complaint about Mazda is the same one I have about this Lexus... Turbo 4 with crappy mpg. They fix that and it's gold.

I'm shopping around now, and the RX is on our list. I felt a similar way to the RX as the Geese. It just didn't impress me the way I expected. In addition to it, we drove the Ascent, Highlander, RAV4, CX-80, GX-460, and the MDX (both A-spec and Type S). By far, the Ascent impressed us the most. Unfortunately, I'm a dying breed: I want to buy a car and I want to keep it for 15 years, and I want zero problems, and after spending time on the Ascent forum, that's off the list. We love the idea of the Atlas, but VW doesn't even come close to what I want in reliability, so we even didn't test it. And obviously nothing American or Korean can be considered. And I don't know what the hell is going on with car engines, but I can't believe how SLOW they all feel these days. Our current garage holds a 200 series Land Cruiser, third gen RAV4 (w/the V6), an S2000, and even a Prius V, and I swear, any one of those (including the Prius) feels like it's got better acceleration than any of the new cars we've driven lately. The HP and torque numbers would seem to tell a different tale, but whether it's today's microprocessor-controlled throttle response or the transmissions with a dozen gears, these cars feel like they can't get out of their own way. And when you DO put your foot to the floor, they sound so chintzy and stressed, you almost feel guilty doing it. The MDX has a 3.5L V6, exactly the same as my RAV4, but I'll bet if I chained them together, the RAV could drag the MDX down the street backwards. And on top of that, the MDX gets the exact same fuel MPG as the RAV, so what's the point???
agree my 15 year old BMW is way faster than any new car except for 200k Porsches and 140K new Corvettes and cars that cost more. I would need to drop 100k on a BMW or Porsche SUV to get decent performance.
You’re talking about seat of the pants feel. Objectively, by the numbers, the newer cars should be faster. BTW, the point is probably to meet tighter regulations in the USA as I like their old V6 much more than these turbo 4s.
What is Luxury is a good question. Modern cars have been getting better and better in terms of comfort and refinement for the price point on a lot of cars. I think back to my month with a Kia K5 and how pleasant it was for a mass market midsizer. I’d wonder if that’s made the ceiling for luxury cars harder to reach as they still try to maintain an area of profitability. The RX is Lexus’s bread maker. A car that appeals enough to enough to pay the bills. Its allowed for the toys, but they never gave these the full Lexus treatment. You wouldn’t think this car is in any way related to the same company that made the LC 500. Maybe its to be cost prohibitive as Toyota always has been, been this car could use more identity at some point.
To me luxury is styling a smooth powertrain especially a naturally aspirated v6, a style forward interior design with retaining all physical controls, smooth ride and great handling, good space, tech that is gimmick free even if the infotainment may be dated but it’s modern enough as long as CarPlay, android auto and built in navigation are there
Hell, I feel like a base Civic has more luxury than a lot of luxury cars. Maybe it could be a little more quiet, but I don't even have a problem with the powertrain. You're right, it must be really hard to find ways to make luxury cars above that now
I love the honesty of this channel! Now, I feel like I truly need to do more research on this vehicle. I’m on the hook for one with a deposit already in place! We are traditional Toyota owners and we swear by them. But, we now want to move upmarket “without” the possible maintenance hassles that come with a lot luxury brands. We also don’t trade vehicles every couple of years. We keep our vehicles for few years. I hope you guys can do a review on the Luxury Hybrid model. That’s what the wife wants…and, I hope that’s a better choice than what I just witnessed..
Just get a Korean suv. More upmarket with comparable reliability and a much longer warranty Or suggest to your wife a sienna hybrid platinum. Same hybrid as the RX same mpg on regular gas with more space and better luxury festures
Thank you for this review. In fact, my family is cross shopping between the RX and the WRX Wagon they are selling abroad. To me, the value of the wrx wagon is way better, similar performance on paper, better driving dynamic, while almost being half the price.
Kind of an odd duo to cross-shop. The WRX is perfectly all right, but it isn't luxurious or especially refined. The MDX is the obvious comparable, or if the Lexus brand means something, save some money and get an NX. It's not very special, either, but it feels roughly as luxurious.
Appreciate the objective honesty guys.. we have 2020L that replaced a 2013. It didn’t take long to realize the cost cutting in the 2020. The seats, the leather and materials , the NVH and the fuel economy are very disappointing. Not surprised the 2023 is keeping the trend going. At least we still have a V6!
How do all the sound deadening panels under the car affect rust and corrosion? Do the panels actually help block salt and water, or do they make them worse by trapping moisture? I'm not in the market for this vehicle, but live in the Rust Belt and am seeing more and more of these panels underneath new cars...not going to be fun to do work under the car after 10 midwest winters if you have to remove a bunch of panels.
I own a 2017 RX that I commute in, driving over 1,100 kilometers weekly at speeds between 140 and 160kph. Losing the V6 is devastating to me, and I’m genuinely contemplating switching car brands just for that. I can’t imagine myself driving a turbocharged 4 cylinder through the lean, dusty air of the desert.
I’m just hoping, that similarly to how they dropped the RX200t back in 2017 or 2018 or whatever, that why will reintroduce the V6 in 2024, or maybe in 2026 with the facelift.
Lexus has reached the pinnacle of brand cachet when it's able to pass off cheap platforms and parts/materials to buyers who believe reliability and tried & true justify the price it charges
I have the 1999 RX300 with 306k miles. The vehicle is reliable, the interior still looks great and I have the original transmission and engine. I have heard a few bad things about most luxury cars including Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes. The point is, none of these cars are perfect or meet all expectations but I will say my car has never broken down. That speaks volumes for a car!

The old V6 used regular gas. The turbo 4 requires premium fuel. So the extra 2mpg of the 4 cylinder turbo is negated by the added fuel cost. Why bother. The hybrid NX350h will run regular (premium recommended not required). The hybrid is the way to go here.
Does that mean the new gen Highlander with the same 2.4T engine will also require the premium fuel?

Why you so short Nick

Main reason I got my 2022 ES 350, because I know the V-6 is going away. Naturally aspirated V-6’s are so fun to drive and hear.
I'm trying to get GSF/RCF but it's so hard to find a good deal
At least 2023 ES 350 is still using V6 engine.

Love the Honesty Jack. Keep up the extraordinary work.
Unless I am mistaken, those larger SUVS and trucks used to mostly have V8s, and they cost much more. I just assumed turbocharged V6 is the new V8.

You guys need to drive the vehicle more before making reviews. 1 button is touched to get to driving modes. The HUD is amazing and is bright and adjustable if needed. I can't imaging driving without it now. Very easy to use and you dont have to be looking down for buttons. For beeping alerts I don't know what your talking about, it hardly beeps when I drive and I have them all activated. Sounds like your exaggerating a bit. One thing I did find was engine noise is a little louder with the 4 cyl. The 4 cyl has more power than the 6, plus less on gas so I'd rather deal with a little extra noise.
You guys have totally the wrong idea of the RX, it’s a reliable and luxury long distance cruiser. Not a sports car.. and turn the safety settings down to avoid the beeps.

You can turn the HUD off and the info all goes back to the gauge cluster which is how the base model also operates as it has no HUD.
FYI you can adjust the level of the rear hatch, 5 different heights . Defaults to highest (5).
I had a 97 Lexus passed down to me by my grandparents as a graduation present, it ate through brakes and rotors like crazy, but was a good car, when I went to buy my own car with my money I’m glad I got my 2013 Toyota Prius, low maintenance so far having owned it preowned since 2015.
If you push rear hatch button twice it’s sets new height.
That HUD controls would drive me crazy. There isn't much I like about it except that it is a "Lexus". I think my daughters Mazda CX5 is better and much cheaper.
It looks like the controls of a crappy LCD monitor
But for the americana it is shocking...soon they also will get used to it😎
Great review! Congrats Mark on buying a Sony Xperia. How is the camera experience?
Its a little baffling to me that they'd offer this with a non-hybrid option. In so many other vehicles (Sienna - a vehicle I own) this seems to be a good way to go - by simply negating the non-hybrid they remove a ton of development time and some of the complaints with how it drives would also go away. Others would crop up of course but this is a vehicle that it would make sense to have hybrid-only variants. Since so many things ride on the K TNGA it is... strange... that Toyota of all companies would have these outlier models. also inb4 Lexus minivan. Name it the.. Previa.
They already have a Lexus minivan, its called the Lexus LM

Thankfully.
@@iana36s "Lexus has dropped the ball but oh it will sell"?. The hundreds of thousands of people who can afford any vehicle in the category but choose to go with the RX are all compromising? Man, go get yourself a life and stop being obtuse!
Not really fair comment re- HUD... which HUD works with polarized glasses?
You should dump the nx and get a gv70 or bmw or go back to audi
Remember ,this is just your opinion and experience with the car ,I know a few people who owns audi or bmw and they say it is trash ,yeah ,it drive damn good but till the time the need to repair it ,and it happens very often...the same with interior materials, audi is a plastic car,bmw better ,but still messy brand...I would not ever buy bmw. And about mercedes ,is I think tje best of them ,my parents have e220 2018 ,interior creaks, not much but for a PREMIUM is a joke...😅
Honestly ,I am messing around ,what ever anyone want to buy now ,must be naive he gets ,reliable car...mercedes, bmw, audi, lexus, does not matter ,same pseudo premium cars with dozens of unnecessary screens and technology...for we have to pay ,instead making a really reliable cars.
Lexus maybe more reliable because not many peoples go hard with it, pulse the body is so thin you can push with a finger and panel is flex already.

More upmarket with comparable reliability and a much longer warranty
Or suggest to your wife a sienna hybrid platinum. Same hybrid as the RX same mpg on regular gas with more space and better luxury festures
If you only keep your car a few years, you have no need for a Lexus. Most new cars nowadays are problem-free for 5+ years
They already tested hybrid with 500h. All hybrids are quieter ... You can't go wrong with hybrid
Thank you for this review. In fact, my family is cross shopping between the RX and the WRX Wagon they are selling abroad.
To me, the value of the wrx wagon is way better, similar performance on paper, better driving dynamic, while almost being half the price.
i love the wrx 5 doors. utilitarian but still very fun to drive. safe as all get out to boot. surprisingly comfortable too
Kind of an odd duo to cross-shop.
The first time the under panels are removed they will not be replaced or if replaced will never be secured as they were before 1st removal.
