  • We’ve been hard at work building up our #Steeda #Mach1 to perform better than ever, so we decided to fit completely new #suspension to test our parts against the baseline runs on the road course out at Florida International Rally and Motorsport Park. Then, watch us go in-depth on measuring the heat, lateral g forces, and speed around each turn to show how much our suspension improved the car!

    If you think upgrading the Mach 1 suspension with the Steeda upgrades makes a big difference, you should see upgrading a regular ol' GT! I have a 2018 GT with full Steeda suspension upgrades and holy cow guys, what a difference!

    My 2019 Bullitt has most if these parts and it made a world of difference! Much better handling over factory without sacrificing comfort.

    Great parts again it sure made a difference on that Mach1. On my 2017 mustang GT auto 6R80 with the full stop the hop parts , and your sway bar on the rear is my setting on the second hole to much. The setting on the front is the second hole .

    Still really impressed how close the Q350 was to the modified Mach 1.

    Wonder what just a track alignment would have done. Without that how much was the alignment how much was the suspension upgrades

    Just to check... Did you say you ran a 305 tire on a 10 inch wide wheel in front? I thought 305 would be too wide for a 10 wide wheel? Would you recommend 305 square on 10 wide wheels front and rear on a standard GT with a full Steeda suspension (which is what I have now)?

    How does the Steeda car compare to a Mach 1 with Handling Package? (also, the Ford Supplement has recommendations for track setup)

      @@steedaautosports it doesn't say springs and dampers but I'm assuming it's got coilovers for the versatility and the extra room for front tire.

    Great video. But a bone stock car driven in the rain compared to a car with steeda parts on a dry day 🤔.

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We had driven multiple sessions with the bone stock Mach 1 in the dry. It had started to lightly sprinkle about halfway through the fastest lap, which is what you see in this video as well as our last one in May. Hope this helps! -Chris

  • @mustangmach1london

    @steedaautosports would you still recommend keeping the factory Mach 1 vertical links instead of upgrading them? Thanks

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We include upgraded vertical links as part of our "Ultimate" handling kit for the Mach 1. If you're car isn't seeing the track all that much you're fine with the factory vertical link and our base Stop the Hop kit with the Mach 1 specific bushing supports. If you do end up going to the track more, you can always upgrade in the future.

    Would you say the tires knocked off the most amount of time? I’m sure “ALL” parts working together in unison will give you the best overall results but do you think sways and dual rates would be the 2nd and 3rd biggest contributor?

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mark - It’s tough to say as each part works together with the rest to offer improvements. But I think you hit the nail on the head. The Dual Rates and Sway Bars likely are the 2nd and 3rd largest contributor to the improved lap times behind the tires. Those IRS Components really help put that power down on corner exit, though. Hope this helps! -Chris

    Its not a square setup if the wheels are not rotatable ... that's the whole point of a square setup. You mentioned the comp package has a 19x10 front, 19x11 rear ... why??? That's not a competition setup guys. Other than that, it shows how much these cars lack from the factory. A good suspension package is a must for serious tracking.

    Are these mods necessary with the Mach 1 handling pack?

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since we have not had a Handling Pack to test, we are not sure but we do know how well this finished product performs compared to the stock one.

    i think STEEDA is a great brand... but the wheel/tire/brake/alignment changes alone are probably 90%+ of the lower lap times. you're talking -3.0 camber, way more aggressive pads and basically track tires.. NONE of these changes could be used on the street. they're comparing these changes to a street spec car from factory. OF COURSE IT'S GOING TO BE FASTER!
    now, keep the factory sways, springs and leave the reinforcement/braces off and im sure the times with ONLY the above said changes would show marginal difference. tires, camber and braking make a HUGE difference around a technical track.

    • @steedaautosports
      @steedaautosports  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Kit - All valid points. However, this is why we made sure to do the test on factory wheels and tires - to remove the track pads and Goodyears’ extra width and grip from the equation. Not to mention the additional weight from the factory wheels. Yes, the alignment definitely did help in that test, but we spent a long time mapping this project out in an honest way so that we can show you the difference these parts make on track, all with minimal to no increase in NVH on the street. The jump from 1:24 to 1:19 was made solely on our suspension components and alignment. The additional 2 seconds down to 1:17 was the wheels/tires and brakes. I hope this helps shed some clarity on the results. -Chris

    Shame your test driver can’t even hold a steering wheel properly. Good drivers hold the wheel at a 3p9 and 3 position, not 10 and 2
