Last month, I attended a 2-day matchmaking social events in Shenzhen. Met over 200 single wonderful and amazing Chinese ladies, (ages from mid 20s to 65+). There were 14 gentlemen, 12 from USA, 1 from Germany and 1 from UK. Best time I ever had. Dating in China vs USA is totally different. I am a Chinese American and I have a hard time accepting the dating cultures in China.

I too was surprised he said there were only 14 men, which doesn't seem right, especially with 30 million more eligible Chinese men than Chinese women... and with millions more competition from foreign men, which most Asian women prefer. Good to be born an Asian woman these days... they have so many local and even foreign men to choose from but they set their standards too high for most men. For example, must be at least 1.75 meters tall, own a home with no mortgage in the city and car, makes $100k/yr, buy a house in the city for her parents, pay a $100k bride price, cannot be too old if local but old is ok if foreigner, etc.
You can tell by the age of the parents how old their children are. I've seen these marriage markets and most people listed are in their 30's and 40's with some 20's in. Most are business/career people or their parents are retired and have nothing else to do except butt in their children's lives. Please, do not get married for the sake of getting married and just live your life the way you want with or without a partner. Times have changed. The divorce rate in China is through the roof because people don't actually want to get married to their partner and just do it to please their parents.
I mean it's cool for sure, way less toxic than any dating app ever, cause it's not based on looks, but it is still based on materialistic things like if he has a lot of money or if he owns a car, etc.. I mean, these things are important, but I think there should be more about their personality and intelligence, etc. Maybe MBTI, etc. Would be way more useful. As a rich guy I wouldn't look for a girl that has bad personality, I think that is always number 1.
One of the papers mentioned, that the person looks for someone who does not drink, does not smoke, does not gamble? Strange ... sounds like he/she does not want a Chinese ... 🤣🤣 All the chinese people I have met so far do almost all of that. And all of them are polite enough to ask if they may smoke while I'm around. I like the aunties look to find a good girl for their sons to marry although there are much more boys than girls in China. How does that work? At least I have found my Queen of Heats .. 🥰🥰🥰
I do like the Idea though its an interesting concept. never seen this happening anywhere in the world to be honest. But it could be a good way to find a girl/boyfriend. Still i think you will have more changes if you just go out to the Gym/bar/Restaurant places like that to meet people. like i said to you dating apps are pretty popular in the west. But thats also because our western world becomes more anti social. anyway someday you will find a guy you can spend the rest of your life with. i am sure about that. i gave up on that dream personally

I just attended a wedding in USA. The Groom is Black-American (Fluent Mandarin) and is 48. His new wife from Shanghai is 45. They only knew each other about 6 months and meet in person maybe 8 times before he proposed; brave soul he is. At the wedding, about 99% of the attendees were also married with the great majority of the Chinese people married after age 35 or so, even later. They're all corporate, business owners, entrepreneurs...spending time with their careers and not dating much. They say 30s is the new 20s, 40s the new 30s, 50s the new 40s....
