I spent 4 years in south korea
1976-1980 in the military, i learnt korean language by doing what you are doing, i got away from all english speaking people and i talked to people in the small villages, and i got same kind reaction that you are getting, i was an adventurous person and liked learning different cultures, in end of my 4 years tour in Korea, i almost spoke fluent korean. P.S. at the time i did this, we didn’t have smart phone or computer. The only thing i had was my 35mm camera.

friendly people, who want to take pictures with you, superb infrastructure, very conveniences to go around from
city to city. All of my western friends who made visits to China came back with extremely high praises on China, on every
aspect, such as friendliness of the people, the obvious and overt displays of happiness and satisfaction with
their lives, the amount of true freedom enjoyed by the people and last but not least, the food. Some of the more

Awesome job Mike. I think it is great to go out and explore the Chinese culture. I think many foreigners to the Chinese might base their opinions on what they hear on the news, be it China or any other country. My take is, regardless of what you hear on the news, the majority of people just want to enjoy life, make new friends, and are just as curious as many from any foreign country are. They are not necessarily of the same mind set as their government is. I wish when i was younger i studied and learned many foreign languages as i would love to travel the world. keep up the great work.😊👍

It’s amazing to witness the reaction of shock and surprise on their faces when you engage in lengthy conversations with them!!! The only problem I had was when I watched you riding a bicycle 🚴🏾 in China! Mike, you need a Harley Davidson Road Glide, or Ducati Diavel V4, or a BMW R GS1300 Motorcycle and leave the bicycles alone man!! But seriously, you are doing a fantastic job representing Black Men over there! All the best to your Mom and Nice, and keep on grinding bro! ✌🏾👍🏾

Personality I would never go to China or anywhere with a black minority, I have seen how black people in china have been treated during the pandemic and I see how Chinese people try to treat black people even in black countries, I would much rather stay around my own kind, I would feel much safer that way. Having said that, I grew up in a Chinese family in Canada, Toronto to be exact, but even in that situation the Chinese were the minority and I was treated good.
But there are certain countries that I would not want to visit as a black man and China is one of them.

Mike I think the vlogging mythos is from the fact everyone is told about how China restricts certain information and internet activities and sites because of the political system in power right now. Also sad that in this day and age people still have hang ups and misconceptions about others based on color or religion or country of origin... People are People .. doesn't matter where.. there will always be those that are ignorant.. I applaud you for every video you produce and put on your channel as you are educating many it seems about misconceptions in general.. be well and have fun!!! your videos brighten my day!!! much love and respect from a Redman in Texas... I wonder what they would do if a long haired metalhead looking old dude with tats and piercings and a cane would react when told I am not actually white LOL guess I have to learn Chinese now... wifey wants to travel there and loves the history and culture..but seriously.. Thank you for showing us what the media doesn't..and not being anything other than you...

Really drawing attention. Just walking by I could see most people turning around when moving past you.
    Take care, appreciate your videos!
About that "no vlogging" misinformation. I think this is because of the firewall that is in China and lack of many western websites and social medias for Chinese people in mainland China. But that I think doesn't apply to foreigners, so that's why it is perfectly legal on your side.
But, if Chinese would like to vlog and post it on TH-cam, or access one of the banned websites, they would need to use workaround measures that I think are not legal in China. But they could vlog using any legal Chinese platform they usually use.
So yeah it is pretty much that people heard something that is true, but mixed it with something else making it not true or half-truth only.
And thanks for showing us China again. Would love to visit one day.
But in general admire your attitude. Introvert myself and I can't imagine people staring at me all the time, would drive me crazy. I don't blame them of course. I remember in my country seeing a black person like 25 years ago was also a view that you didn't get often. But would be a hard thing to get used to for me.
