- I go over the entire character select screen & give my opinions as to who is easiest & who is hardest to pick up in BBCF! I tried to make my own little ranking system so I hope it makes sense to you guys :p

Agreed. Blazblue is by far the most difficult fighting game to master right now, esp with the complex mechanics and character specifics.
There was a guy i knew and he never knew how to admit he was wrong and he worshipped fighter z and called it the hardest game and then theres me like “bruh what”

Also one thing to note, Bang doesn’t have the best damage. Most his combos don’t exceed 2300 without meter or Nails. Also FRKZ overdrive is really hard to control

He does if you optimize, he gets near to nothing on crouchers, but he should average 4K in most cases (including poison nail)

The first character I chose was Izanami, this was also my first BB game. Somehow this always happens to me, the cool ones are hard to learn.
i mean i picked up kagura and this was also my first bb game i did stick with him though
Same thing happened to me a while back. I was scared of the difficulty back then so I ended up maiming Lambda-11.
I REALLY hope she makes it into another BlazBlue game, since now I have experience and know I can handle her crazy stuff

Prefer these then the shortest “tier lists” that doesn’t go into real detail about mechanics or play styles that might be different due to the one making these lists. Helps I think really get people an idea about these characters and how they play.
I just picked Ragna because I love his character and the story.

Relius has Ignis, Carl has Ada/Nirvana. Ada is Nirvana's real name before she became a doll, at which point she took on the name of the weapon she became.
I picked up Susano’o because I loved his character for a long time. Just picked up the game two days ago, and I’ve been in the lab nonstop.

This was very informative. There's a lot of mechanics and character specifics in Blazblue to sink your teeth into and your insight definitely helps. Would love to see you do this character analysis for other fighting games as well.

Man this was awesome! So nice to have descriptions of the characters from experienced players. I just got this game right when Cross Tag came out and was like "aw dang* will people still be playing this game?" i don't know. but i'm gonna continue learning where i left off. This helped me pick a some characters to try first

I think Terumi should be Beginner-Intermediate. I honestly think Ragna and Terumi are practically the same difficulty to learn, Terumi's just harder to play and win with because his buttons are worse. I certainly believe someone like Amane is in a different league from Terumi on execution.

I Picked up Bullet because she just looked cool, and her moveset couldn't have clicked better, not even if the stars aligned, so glad I picked up the game.

Pretty good and informative video. I've been playing BBCF for a year or so now and when I first got the game I started out with Mai, Celica, and Es. Also a bit of Ragna. Those four pretty much got me real familiar with the way the game controls. Then I started adding in Makoto and Noel. I got really good with Makoto too. She's one of my favorites to play.
Now I have taken in Izayoi as my number one main. I've been playing her for the better part of ten months now and I continue to practice with her a lot. It's gotten to the point where I'm very comfortable with what she can do and I know her range quite well now.
I agree with you about her being a blender. A very nasty ass kicking blender!!! Ouch. I really like doing air combos with her. Yea, she is awesome.
bout three years late to say this but, i know a lot of people never like to main beginner characters/characters that are very easy to pick up and play, because it makes them feel like they're not good enough to play them. i must say never feel like you shouldn't play them because they're easy i never thought i would main jin, the easiest character to play, but after playing him a bit i love him, so dont be afraid to play some of these easy characters in a few matches to see how they feel.
I like that you said that. I also never thought i'd play with Jin, but i just tried him out, and the stuff he does makes sense, and feels good. Plus he looks cool.
As a Jubei main, his defence...oh boy. His defence is as bad as his offence is good. A come back mostly rely on good blocking or a well timed meter move. But when you get on their face, it's so fun to bullshit around.

As a long time platinum player. Its not the items that are hard to use/understand. Its the fucking pogo stick combo timing can be so unique and situational its insane

But, I just wanted to comment here to say I'm subscribing because I've really appreciated how welcoming and genial you are in your videos, especially on BBCF which I did pick up recently. For Hakumen, his hops are considered as microjumps and enables you to perform his air specials near the ground, but needs fast inputs.
His j.214A can be used as a tool to perform a crossup like j.214A, j.B into neutral.
His j.214B as an anti-air cuz it moves his hitbox slightly backwards and the hurtbox is pretty generous vertically.
His j.213C guardbreaks and has fatal counter on counter hit.
Hakumen likes to play footsies and spacing, and also has good neutral with his 5C being safe on block and his 5A comes out really really fast like 5 frames and iirc it's the fastest in CF.
A really good Hakumen I watch and try to emulate is karasawa in terms of aggression, he's good.

I was a Hakumen player Since BBCSE, and just recent startef BBCF and... I didnt choose to be a edgelord but Susanoo want me to bark all day.
I ended up going with Noel. Love her drive combos, mostly 2/6+A and 2/6+B

Hello my fellow rollbackians
I decided to pick up Celica after this video (which is great btw) and after spending almost 2 weeks exclusively for labbing her combos, I can say that the character overall is very simple, but some her advanced stuff is legit pretty advanced. So for example, she has very cool corner combo variations for healing that are EXTREMELY distance specific, but they're pretty important to get down cause those are some of the few heal combos that are actually worth it. Also, idk how the best celica players do this, but they have like a third eye for knowing when the backfire of her 214C will connect out of random hits.
Sure you can get all her bread and butters down in like two training sessions, but it kind of took me off guard how much you can push this character. I'd say out of all the simple ones listed here, she definitely is the most dynamic and engaging thanks to her heal mechanic and the decision making around it.

Picked up my mains right before this video dropped. The mains being Hakumen and Terumi, characters with completely opposite playstyles.
I just recently buy the game because it was on discount. I must say, is one of the best fighting games I played in my life. I like to know this things, but I will main Taokaka (her mobility is nuts)
I just got it a week ago myself! As soon as I saw Kagura (because of how cool he looked on the selection screen), I felt that I immediately clicked with him and I was right haha! Love his playstyle and his flashy persona, he’s got character and he’s just awesome.
@@bancholeo55 yeah, I must say that the character desing is so good and unique that just by looking at the draw of the character in the selection screen, you inmediatly now that that's your main. You can imagine his gameplay just by looking at them (except Celica who I thought was a puppeter 😅).

As a Lambda main, I prefer her over current Nu because she actually has mixups and simpler drives. I'd describe her as being a zoner/lockdown character during neutral and a rushdown with strong mixup after she locks/knocks the opponent down.
I got this game today, I picked up Rachel, Izanami and Kokokoe. They are fun, so much stuff to mess around with.

I just picked this game up and am trying to decide on my first main. When we're 33 minutes into the video before he's mentioned I can't help but start sweating a bit xD
Maybe I made the wrong decision, but I'm sticking with it. Charge should be fine anyway since I play on hitbox, so should be a little easier in terms of execution at least.
When i started the game i picked up Es but i couldnt help but learn kagura and relius their combos are way to cool

The story is so convoluted, but Relius' doll is called Ignis, which is his wife/Carls mother.
Carl's doll is called Nirvana, but has the soul of his sister Ada in it.

I mostly agree with what you brought up with Jubei. But maybe put him up a spot. He has an extremely important install that changes all of his combo routes, on top of a completely different drive. And he is the only character in the game with 0 wake up options outside of regularly blocking. Both his supers have no invincibility and Jubei lacks a reversal of any kind.
Between Prof.KoeKoe Classes and Sacred_Azure with his "Sacred Dojo" i can't ask for better tutors to learning this game, thanks for this videos. Also please stick with this persona stuff, it's really hilarious.

On just the charge thing, that’s the one reason I don’t try playing kagura a lot, I love his drive and a lot of his moves but charges have always been a little weird for me, I can never get the timing right for some reason, I think I do it too long or just push the button at the wrong time
I'm playing Rachel because the way she plays is similar to how you play Duck Hunt in Super Smash Bros. Both characters I mentioned are zoners, but I hardly play Duck Hunt because they're stupid to play as. Rachel, on the other hand has Georg XIII, Homing bats and her wind.
Oh yeah! revisiting this video thanks to the new rollback code added to BBCF beta.
For players that are wanting to try out Susanoo, here's some tips: 5B as a round starter can poke/tag many characters in the start. It also has good recovery. Sonic-Ball (214B) is a good overhead-can add to the mixups. Sword has a back hitbox-so this can lead to some swag combos. Crush Trigger is a really good tool in Susanoo's toolbox.
Godpress can only be combo'ed after a Fatal Counter(6B or Sandkick(214A)) Actually, 6C, 5D,or 6D counter can lead to Godpress also, but it's extremely hard to combo afterwards.You can use shoulder tackle(236A) to close distance, but be careful when you use it.
I only played CS2 on 3ds and mained Jin 'cus I loved Yukianesa and throwing the enemy to the other side of the screen. When I got CF for switch I was instantly attached to him but with the overdrive mechanic and a few input changes, it feels quite different lol
I still picked up him but now I'm leaning towards Bullet and Hibiki.
So I play like shadow mewtwo in pokken. Which is a glass cannon. What character would be like that in cf?
I'd like to hear from more Platinum players. I don't play much BBCF, but I did like playing Platinum, I was just never sure how to use her.
She is real fun with great range on her normal attacks. But her special mechanic involves using items in a random order, so ul need to adjust based on the item.
I believe She's meant to be a well-rounded character within an emphasis on adaptation and mixup. Her item mechanic can give her an answer to any situation and it forces the opponent to adapt to whatever item is equipped. Since she has a little bit of everything, you can take control of nearly any situation or adapt as needed. plus she has some really good tools for neutral.
As a Platinum main, I'd say she's easier than you rated her. You have to keep her item options in mind and consider whether to ditch items or not, and there's some advanced combos with harder execution of course, but not more so than most of the cast. On a basic level she's very easy to pick up. I'd put her in your beginner-mid category.
Also, you forgot to talk about Nine in the actual video, but I agree with where you have her on the text list.
Deciding whether to ditch an item or not sounds like it takes a lot of experience, and man she sounds fun in a way, but mostly hard to me.

I don't think nu-13 has that difficult confirms or combos, possibly some microdashes inside combos can be tricky. The most difficult part with her is needing to know matchup knowledge since she relies entirely on fundamentals for defense and she can get crushed in some matchups (like Izayoi teleports).
Wish I found more people playing this on Steam, I must be on at bad times.

Trying to pick up Haku-Men, Taokaka, Carl, Naoto, Nu, Nine and Kagura.
Time to kill my hands.
This was a fantastic video but I disagree with a couple of these.
Taokaka's movement seems daunting at first but I personally found it to not be that hard. She's a super fun character to learn and her combos are pretty easy and stylish.
Litchi I think is probably up there with Valk on difficulty. She is not fun to learn(imo)but once you do stuff gets crazy so it's definitely worth it. Just do it for the meat pole.
You didn't talk about Am@ne (wonder why; he's like, the s!ckëst character in the game) but as of recently I've found him to be pretty basic if a little wonky due to the weird spacing. Once you get the C normals down and learn to manage Spiral it's pretty much smooth sailing. His skill floor is intermediate-low but his skill ceiling is quite low compared to other characters in my opinion.
Some of Amane's juggles have awkward timing, and he's got a few stance cancel combos with 236D>D. His spacing needs to be really good cuz of the dead zones on C normals, and his floaty movement can make him feel really vulnerable in certain situations. I'd say intermediate is a fair spot for him.
The hardest aspect for me is confirming combos from stray CH harikens and gerikens. But that may just be my terrible reaction time lol.
