Can a BlazBlue SCRUB get to Pink Square rank??

- Today I'm beginning my new ranked quest: getting to Pink Square rank in BlazBlue: Central Fiction! Now that the game has rollback, it feels really amazing to play online, so let's run some sets with Kagura and see how it goes! Spoilers: Rachel is very, very scary. And Mai too.

in Blazblue each atack gonna have an attribute (body, head, foot, projectile, etc...) jump in have head attribute Rachel 6a the attack she uses as anti-air has head invulnerability so most of the times will beat jump ins clean the system is intresting and worthwille learning more about it cuz create dedicated anti-airs, high profiles moves, anti-fireballs, without weird interactions or side effects such as 6p in guilty gear
Even though I like the way Guilty Gear does it more, learning about the attribute system is key to playing Blazblue. No matter how ignorant your jump in button is, if they hit a head invuln move at the right time, you will never hit them, even if their hitbox sucks ass or something. As a consequence, many more jump buttons are huge and take up giant amount of screen space, because the attribute system allows them to be without being impossible to anti air
@@NeoBoneGirl Wait so you can time a move that has a head invulnerability attribute to it and their move wont clash with you and whiff, but you will punish them? Also there is Head Invulnerability moves?!? I did not know this. Does every character get moves with the invulnerability property or is it specific characters?
@@MicrochipSlayer Head invuln attacks simply can’t be hit by moves with head property. Even if they hit you clearly and you miss them, at worst, it’ll whiff. Every character has head invuln moves cuz they’re the anti airs. Think 2H in DBFZ but on different buttons sometimes
@@NeoBoneGirl I see. That's actually pretty dope. I was trying to figure out if there was a universal anti air in Blaz blue but I guess its more like Street Fighter where every character has different moves that are anti air and some are better than others.
@@MicrochipSlayer Nah, it’s not universal. It’s *usually* 6A or 2C, but sometimes it’s shit like 6B or 5C, and some characters only have good head invuln on specials. Gotta check on dustloop to know for sure cuz sometimes it’s not obvious
Dude it's been so long since I've seen people play BlazBlue. I still remember how terrifying it was to play against Rachel, Carl, and Litchi players.
They're still an otherworldly experience to deal with for sure lol
Seeing you play this game lately has finally pushed me to order a fighting stick and take learning fighting games seriously, already downloaded BB. Thanks for making these videos and the inspiration :)
Loving the BB content. Quick tip from a fellow Kagura player, his 6D~C is projectile armored and you can get a 6C, 6D~A afterwards if it counterhits. It helps a lot to close the gap against zoning characters when airdash j.C isn't working.

Kagura I found really weird because of charge and the stances, I just can't wrap my head around it.
Love to see a Rachel getting cool conversions with Wind, they're very few and far between. The frog also cracks me up all the time, it's such a strong move for how silly it looks.

7:55 That was basically an instant kill. Cost 100 meter and you have to be on the winning round and the opponent needs to be at the last third of their HP. BB calls it Astral Heat.

thought you might be playing Rachel. I haven't even played ranked but she's my "main" if I ever get past practicing combos lol. this game has so many amazing characters I was really blown away.

I got Central Fiction a day after Christmas and I'm still getting used to the control scheme after playing fighting games with autocombos

@@doublevendetta Hey uuuhhh I'd like to take you up on that. I have played Blaz Blue before but never really put too much effort into really learning the game. Just practicing combos. I just found out that Blaz Blue has Roman Cancels. If it isn't too much for you that is; don't wish to intrude.

This game is so fun I wish it got more love when CT dropped you should try every character in the games challenge mode it’s good way to learn the gimmicks
To be fair, CT was kind of a train wreck of a game. The story mode was really cool, though.

im not great at this game but throwing gii and doing the lightning thing with the traps set up from gii is fun and i like doing sword stuff with lambda and nu

Hey Jmcrofts, I am a big fan and always watch your videos. One thing that strikes me about you is just how rarely you get salty and emotional over losing/getting dunked on. I would LOVE to have your disposition and casually enjoy playing people online, but I am prone to shakes/emotional investing myself in the match. Do you have any advice for someone to stop taking it so serious? I genuinely want to be detached from the match in a way where I can be logical and let my muscle memory and execution carry me. But online(specifically against random strangers) I am overcome with excitement when winning and anger when losing, both of which can have the effect of drops, misinputs and getting offline after the game. I want to play how you do, and just have fun.
I think it's 50% experience and 50% attitude, after you've played for a long time each individual win or loss feels like it matters less. Then you just have to remember that the important thing is learning and having fun, rather than focusing on the outcome of the match
@@jmcrofts okay thank you man! I appreciate the response, I will just have to steele my nerves I suppose, and hopefully I’ll be able to have fun instead of playing like my life is on the line or something lol

Kagura is such a cool character in about every way possible. I would play him, but a friend of mine plays him and I wanted to have some character variance in our little group. Besides, I prefer Es.
so if u didnt know jm moves in this game have attributes or something. basically if u do an anti air move it could have invul against all air moves like not hitbox interaction just invul against all of it thats why ur jump in loses even thos it literally covers the whole character

Doing rapid cancel on the first hit of 2D~B is a nice way to use excess meter for a cheeky safe low that you can confirm into and out of! Atleast it was when I played back in the day ^^
Sure he can be Yellow buy Rachel is very difficult to play and learn. You can mash and do whatever with any character for so long and do fine but character like Rachel, arakune, Izanami, and carl require actually time to learn and play even in intermediate level. They are hella hard that even with scrubs it's hard to mash with them and win most fights. I do want to comeback in this game but it's been so long so I'm not sure I want to relearn my characters.

I like Kagura, but man is he a hero mode character. You go in. You go in hard. And you either blow up or get blown up. You lose momentum for a second and you're dead in the water.

One thing that you need to try aand more, is use his Command grab. Kagura's 5DB is a Command grab that can't be teched that is a super nice Meaty and can lead to an easy 50 meter 4.5k combo. It's not something you can really use in Neutral but in the corner on wakeup it's really strong. As for the Combo Ender, you had 100 Heat so you could RC, j.D(2)8D

not a single 6DC on the rachel. the move goes through projectiles, be it doesnt get projectile inv till i think F15?(its 8 for stance and 7 naterualy). the bat in all 3 of its states(inital throw, lightning from both the tower and the thing that follows you, and that inital hit from the bat flying toward you can be charged through, also includs the frog. the move still has a hallarious extended hurtbox passed the tip of his sword and even seen a friend kargura 6A it from full screen(it was a failed [4]6A which if it worked would of won the encounter)
but ya theres a infestation of mai since her char is much easyer to learn, like her supers are 236D and 214D, not even a double or anything extra unlike the rest of the cast.
Use supers and Astral Heat when you can

yup all matches can change your square color. There's a separate stats system that's only affected by ranked mode

Getting to pink with Kagura might be tough. He's not bad, but has extreme match-up spread. Most notably he struggles a lot with Nine, who is a very popular character online due to her being the easiest to pick up among top tiers.
However, BlazBlue is very knowledge dependant and a lot of characters can roll you over until you learn how they work. Once you do, it becomes significantly easier.
Also, learn how to use overdrive on defence and to seal rounds. It's extremely powerful, resource management in general is extremely important in BB.
It might be tough, but I hope you manage to get that pink. Good luck.
Not a single Distortion drive lol. You should try out Kagura challenges, they're really fun and you'll definitely learn a lot. I'd really like to see you try them.
