@@bnashtay2278 A charge Character is a move that you have charge up for a bit by holding a direction, usually back or downwards then doing another direction + a button. People say Diagonal Backwards is the best to be in cuz you can block and have access to both your down and back charge move

As a quick suggestion, you should display an image of each character before you begin explaining stuff. For a new player, just showing two characters duking it out might initially make it very hard to tell which one of the characters you're talking about.

Great video, but I will say with Lambda Despite having a similar moveset to Nu, she is NOT a Zoner. Her projectiles are a lot slower and mostly used just for control or spacing rather than locking down or comboing from range. She is much more of a Rushdown character with some long/mid range potential

They weren't working for me, so I started looking for other characters to play, which led me to Noel. Now, I play Hazama and Noel, but I'm also interested in Arakune, Amane, Kokonoe, Bang, and Bullet. Thanks for this video.

If ya’ll dont mind me geeking out real quick, Ragna is more of a situational awareness character with not a good mix ups on things. He's a good for learning the game and getting the foundation of BB from and he's a very good character with it. He's a 10K health character, but with his drive, stealing the opponents health and regenerating health from it, people like to joke around and say he's a 13K health character because of it, too. He has solid normals, good DP, and does decent damage. However, he has hardly any good mix ups and his approach can be predictable at times. The way how I play him is doing 2A pressure and try to stagger with it, cause that's zero on block. You can throw in an attempt to keep the opponent guessing on mix up. If you do it enough times, you can condition them into OS throw and make 5A whiff a couple of times, AND THEN go for a throw to throw them off.
I'm really new to the fighting game scene, started on strive a few months ago blazblue really interested me and this video was extremely helpful to get an overview of the characters, even years after this vid was made, thank you!

you know a game is good when you struggle choosing your favorite character- me being torn between Izayoi, Celica, Es and Bullet: also this list originally had 9 characters i was indecisive between xd i was really struggling to lower the list lmao
That's because they are almost completely different games. BBTag is a spin-off. It has the same name, because it's in the BlazBlue universe, but it's not actually a proper BlazBlue game. The characters are simplified, albeit sometimes too much, because you're supposed to be effectively playing 2 characters at the same time. It comes down to, do you want to play a more traditional anime FG, or do you want to play a tag FG?
I think a better way to describe Izanami would be an all offense/no defence kind of character. She every kind of offence, pressure, and mixup tool you could want. But she's has no DP and one of the lowest health pools in the game. On top of that Ribcage, her best defence option, cost Barrier. And once she loses that, she's as good as dead of one hit. Good for people who love pure offense, just don't get hit.
Money Waffles there are other chars that don’t got meterless reversals, but don’t got the amount of options izanami has. Izanami doesn’t deserve complaint.
I actually played the game a bit and have an idea of who I want to play, but I'm still going to like, comment, yadda yadda to see if the algorithm recommends this to more people, now that rollback is a thing

@@GrunkleBarlowe Yeah its very unforgiving, you have to have super quick fingers and you get hardly any time to connect one move into the next (especially during air combo's) I hardly ever complain about games being too hard but I think blazblue is difficult even for people who are used to playing fighting games

A gorilla character is one that is momentum based. Once they get their stuff started, their pressure is very unmanageable. Unlike rushdown who can play both offensively and defensively, gorilla character are purely offense based and can just go in and do massive damage.
As someone who subs both characters, I think Platinum takes more immediate investment at a beginner level compared to Relius. I taught my husband a basic Relius in about thirty minutes. Remember, character difficulty here is very loose/broad and intended to be for beginners' level of investment. Relius is obviously a much more complex character as you get into him- compare this to Carl, who requires a ton of awareness and practice with negative edging just to do his basic combos and blockstrings.
I appreciate you making this video; it's better than the other BBCF intro videos I've seen from Koefficient and one or two other channels. I have a bit of an odd request, though: which character should I play if I want to make people regret playing against me with as little effort as possible? This is a serious quesion. Essentially, I hate Blazblue and I'd only ever play it if some people in my local scene badgered into doing so. Every single time I win, I want my opponent to be having zero fun. I want people to seriously consider turning off the game whenever they lose a round - but I also don't want huge execution requirements because I hate Blazblue and don't want to lab it. From the research I have done, it seems like the characters who fit this bill are: - Nine - Arakune (hard to play, probably not) - Lambda / Nu - Carl (hard to play, probably not) - Izanami - Izayoi (perhaps not oppressive enough) - Rachel - Amane I'm leaning towards Nine or Rachel because I can actually stand looking at them. Do you have any further advice?
Blazblue: cf is an aggressive rushdown game that has a lot of versatility in its gameplan, it offers a lot of projectile setups that gives you strong setplay as well as a series of fast normals that lets you get a lot off a lot of buttons
CF2 was a free update to CF1 that happened a few years ago, it was basically a re-balance patch, do know that all CF copies now sold are the upgraded CF2 version

Forgive my lack of lingo knowledge, but what does a "gorilla character" means exactly? I don't get the difference with a rushdown one like say, Ragna.
A gorilla character is one that is momentum based. Once they get their stuff started, their pressure is very unmanageable. Unlike rushdown who can play both offensively and defensively, gorilla character are purely offense based and can just go in and do massive damage.

Yeah, it's basically like an actual gorilla. There's no planning or strategy, just charge in and smash always.

in what world platinum is harder to play than relius
As someone who subs both characters, I think Platinum takes more immediate investment at a beginner level compared to Relius. I taught my husband a basic Relius in about thirty minutes.
Remember, character difficulty here is very loose/broad and intended to be for beginners' level of investment. Relius is obviously a much more complex character as you get into him- compare this to Carl, who requires a ton of awareness and practice with negative edging just to do his basic combos and blockstrings.

I appreciate you making this video; it's better than the other BBCF intro videos I've seen from Koefficient and one or two other channels. I have a bit of an odd request, though: which character should I play if I want to make people regret playing against me with as little effort as possible? This is a serious quesion.
Essentially, I hate Blazblue and I'd only ever play it if some people in my local scene badgered into doing so. Every single time I win, I want my opponent to be having zero fun. I want people to seriously consider turning off the game whenever they lose a round - but I also don't want huge execution requirements because I hate Blazblue and don't want to lab it. From the research I have done, it seems like the characters who fit this bill are:
- Nine
- Arakune (hard to play, probably not)
- Lambda / Nu
- Carl (hard to play, probably not)
- Izanami
- Izayoi (perhaps not oppressive enough)
- Rachel
- Amane
I'm leaning towards Nine or Rachel because I can actually stand looking at them. Do you have any further advice?

Blazblue: cf is an aggressive rushdown game that has a lot of versatility in its gameplan, it offers a lot of projectile setups that gives you strong setplay as well as a series of fast normals that lets you get a lot off a lot of buttons

CF2 was a free update to CF1 that happened a few years ago, it was basically a re-balance patch, do know that all CF copies now sold are the upgraded CF2 version
