I'm always amazed by how you play beautiful melodies using simple concepts. And you demonstrate and explain them so well. Your lessons never disappoint. Thank you Brian.
I absolutely love this lesson. Would love a few more like this. I'm 79, been playing awhile and continue to be amazed at what a beautiful instrument the guitar is. 👍👍👍👍👍
Just wanted to say thanks. Not sure how to leave a Comment on the Premium sight so I'll leave it here. Thankyou. I've never wanted to play so much and got so much better faster because I enjoy your lessons. Thanks Again.
Thank you for this lesson. Instead of visualizing the A shape of the C chord, I personally find it almost easier to picture the minor chords formed on strings 2..4, so when walking up from C in first position, I think Dm and Em when playing strings 2 and 4 to play the harmonized 6th. This also helps me to memorize the triads.
I get SO much mileage out of these harmonies! My absolute fav. Thanks Brian for another perfectly explained, great lesson! Heading over to Active Melody for Part 2...
Thanks for putting this lesson together it's Always a breath of Fresh Air and Inspiration watching and Learning from your Excellent channel! Cheers from Australia
Think about it Brian, I pay you to play your music all day long in my home. Literally your songs as best as I can play them fill the air in my home hahahahaha. Really really like it. lol
Amazing, I was just picking out a song like this today, and your lesson came up, and you explain it all so well, and helped me along tremendously.. thank you Brian..
Brian, there's something I'm not getting...now I'm only 9 minutes in... But just following along the video (I'm sure I'll figure it out once I try to play it), but here's my question: If we're playing a C Maj in two shapes, which are made up of triads 1, 3, 5... Then how is it that we're playing "harmonized 6ths?" Where does the 6th internal come from, while playing a C Maj? I don't get that part--even though I followed everything you said up to here! Don't worry about replying, I'll figure it out.
Hi Brian, I am not an expert on theory, so if my question appears simplistic, I apologise. If you go up 6 notes, or 6 intervals, it's a 6th? How do you get that? It seems to me that if you go up (in pitch) 6 intervals, it's a 7th. If you go up 5 intervals, then it's a 6th. You started on the E, the 3rd of the C scale and went up to the octave, (or from the root to the 6th of the E scale) that's only 5 intervals. Started on the 3rd, up one interval 4th, up two intervals 5th, up three intervals 6th, up four intervals 7th, up 5 intervals octave. That's 6 notes including the start note, but 5 intervals between them. I think, you got the cadence right, it's a 6th, but you got the count wrong, it's 5 intervals not 6. I am happy to be corrected as this is just MY understanding and I could easily be confused.
Hello there how are you doing I'm from Ethiopia, Africa and I love playing guitar. I have been watching ur videos since I started learning guitar but I didn't even have one guitar. can you give me one pls
Brown eyed girl by van Morrison very reminiscent of this. Brian I was raised on Jimmie Rodgers. I would have thought you were to young to appreciate him,but I'm glad you do.
the tabs and MP3 jam track ARE available... i explained where you can get them. how is that a lie or even being misleading? Also, this is a 20 minute FREE video with TAB included in the video!! seriously man?

You must be an engineer too because it has always bugged me, but I just accept it as a broken numbering convention and moved on LOL
Thank you Brian, great job as always. BTW, how is Clapton's guitar doing? Haven't seen that guy in a while :-)
Hello there how are you doing
I'm from Ethiopia, Africa and I love playing guitar. I have been watching ur videos since I started learning guitar but I didn't even have one guitar. can you give me one pls
There is another Active Melody on You Tube that is using your name and the EP format.

Brother where art thou vibe
Standin' on the corner, I didn't mean no harm...
Great lesson. But why lie about the tabs and all being available when they are not unless you pay for them? Your choice of course but why mislead us?

Coolest! Why do you play the A form with your pinky instead of the ring finger?
I don’t know
@@activemelody 🤣
Sounds a bit Hawaiian.
