I have an old upright stay right pump 1 horsepower pump that propellers I want to see how they are took it apart can you tell me can you call me and tell me
Excellent video. I learned a lot from it. I just got through doing a major repair on my Jacuzzi jet pump. Your video helped me out tremendously. Thank you very much.
Very nice video and very thorough, but I have a question. What should the depth of the impeller be set inside the housing? Or is there a measurement between the coupler and the outside of the housing? I ask this because I have the motor uncoupled from the impeller shaft and want to be sure to have the depth of the impeller set correctly. Thanks.
I found an old jet pump left outside from a previous homeowner, likely for years but worth tinkering for a bit to see if it still works. So, total rookie question...it's electric, where is the plug?
next time please show jet pump nozzle venchury Assembly, pressure regulator and water back pressure, and how to find a blocked nozzle, their problem solving?, with out them it is a just mono block centrifugal pump.
Hello, i need some help. I'm using the two line version of this to draw water from the lake. Suction lift is 40 ft. distance if 87ft. The pressure fluctuates between 15-35 psi and will not build pressure high enough to shut off. There is a swoosh or surging sound that continually occurs. pump is brand new and has been primed. A new venturi, foot valve and screen installed at the lake. any advice?
Great, informative video. I have a 1/2 HP Everbilt "jet pump", the kind with a long nozzle on the water intake. It primed okay, but it doesn't appear to build any significant pressure, maybe 5 pounds. It runs consistently. The water source is a 60-gallon tank just a few feet away, and I'm drawing the water through a 3/8" tube. I'm also sending the pumped water through another tube of the same size. Are you able to comment on why the pressure won't build?
Hi can you make a video on how to repair noisy Panasonic shallow well pump model A-130JACK. The pump also make a noise like there something inside the pump .
Love the video, super helpful! Hey, I have a Goulds J10 Plus pump that I used for a few months then I left for the night. It seems the water table dropped and the pump ran dry for up to about 24 hours. This was several months ago, the pump still works but doesn't have near as strong of a water flow as it once did. I'm positive the pump was dry pumping/running hot for a long period. Any idea what part may be failing? Would a diaphragm shrink due to running dry/hot and would this cause the flow to weaken significantly? Any advice is highly appreciated!
My pump started building pressure 40/60 pressure. It built to 40 psi and wouldn't go any higher. It didn't hit the 60 psi shut-off. It pumped water to my house and flooded my toilet bowls all over the floors? Do you have any Idea why? I shut-off the pump cleaned up the water and tried again. Now the pump won't build any pressure? The pressure Guage may be messed up. HELP please.
on my well pump their was a white wire for my l1 and a yellow for my l2 and i was wondering if their is a difference for the wiring between l1 and l2 on a 115v only well pump
Thank you for a very informative video. I hope to support you for future. Do you think a strap wrench would work on holding the impeller? How about a polished pry tool for tablets to remove the rubber seal?
I'm not sure on these but on Goulds pumps you take off the motor cover and the shaft has flats for a 7/16 wrench to hold it while removing the impeller.
But when he found out that diffuser was not set all the way and then he show that he had its seated all the way I did not see him put the wear ring back in there but yes it was a very good and informative video
Sounds like you've got a small leak, most likely in the foot valve. The water is draining back out whenever the pump shuts off. You'll have to pull the suction pipe and check it We sell them on our site: www.rcworst.com/Valves-c80.html?Attribs=504
I have a a concern my jet pump run out of water and it just keep humming and not producing water, what should i do? I hope you can help me especially this pandemic
The pump in this video! Franklin Electric RM2: www.rcworst.com/franklin-electric-fp1ci-c-91140010-convertible-pro-rm2-series-jet-pump-1-0-hp-115/230v-1ph.html
Excellent video! I have a 3/4 hp Goulds water pump in my water softerner system and somehow my HVAC guy who was waking near my water softerner accidentally stepped onto the pvc pipe that leads to the pump inlet port hole. Because of it the motor over heated. Now I've noticed that the shaft does not rotate when I turned the power back on. Do I need to replace the whole motor? Could it be that something just got stuck in the impeller? Do you have parts for Goulds?
I just disconnected a 6 month old wayne 240 V 1 hp well pump because it was unable to build enough pressure to trip the pressure switch off. i rigged something to test the max pressure output to the bladder tank and too my surprise got the same result. The suction line is now connected to a 10 gallon vinyl tank fitted with a 1/14 " steel barb via hose connection to the pump. When powering this thing up with the pressure output valve closed only get 52.5 lb max pressure? I connect it to the bladder tank and once the valve is open water moves freely through the suction line to the pressure side until that 52 pounds of pressure is reached? Note: bypassed the pressure switch in this test and that's as high as it will go load or no load? When it was part of the well plumbing it charged a 100 gal champion bladder tank to only 48 pounds. This forcing me to adjust the pressure switch or this pump would never shut off. Note: the sky should be the limit and this pump should hit a 90 psi easily for the suction line is not connected to the well. Therefore, it has no, lift, resistance. Yet, when this pressure is reached in the bladder tank the suction line can no longer move any water in the reserve, not another ounce? Yes, it basically goes to zero water movement on both ends? I'm indeed puzzled with this semi new pump. Got any ideas what could be causing this loss of head pressure?
Usually when jet pumps see a sudden loss of output pressure it's because of sediment buildup in the venturi. I would check that and see if it's not the cause.
my moms pump aint holding pressure it turns on at 20 lbs then turns on till 55 lbs then slowly goes down to 20 lbs after five mins and comes on so my question is there a check valve inside of it
My guy got into so much detail and discussion that they had to cut sections that were deemed “irrelevant” out of the video. Sections that, as far as I know, could have absolutely been anywhere from 20 seconds to 10 minutes long.
I have a 1/2hp Everbilt shallow well jet pump that I cannot get the volute off. I removed the four bolts and nothing else is holding it on. It only comes about 1/4" apart. I'm afraid I'll break it if I pry any harder. I'm already damaging the plastic housing. Any suggestions?
Troy, I would recommend getting the install guide from HD's website or calling the manufacturer. We do not sell Everbuilt so I am not sure what the disassembly process is.
Hi. My name is Robert I have a cast iron shallow well jet pump. I've changed the pressure switch, put a new 5 gal pressure tank , two pressure gauges and I still don't have any pressure to force water into my house The pump gives off a humming noise, and it cuts off and on without proper pressure. What do I need to do to make my pump working again
Robert, if the motor is humming and not spinning you can try replacing the capacitor. If it still won't spin then the motor is shot and you'll need a new pump.
Hi, great videos. I have a Red Jacket 3/4 hp shallow well pump. I recently lost all water pressure in the house. I discovered that the intake hose had somehow been disconnected from the pump and the pump was running continuously. I reconnected the intake and ran the pump. Everything seemed fine with water shooting out of the garden hose. However, the pressure reached 40psi and will not go any higher, it continues to run until it is unplugged. Does it sound like internal wear from sediment? If so, would it be worth repairing or should the entire pump be replaced? Also, the pressure regulator was replaced about 3 months ago, it looks good except for some white 'sediment' on two of the contacts. Is this normal? I figure it's not an issue because the pump is getting power. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the question! Given that your pump is an old Red Jacket, I would say it's time to think about replacing it - not repairing. You mentioned the contacts seemed discolored, try cleaning them up with a wire brush (with the power off of course), and see if that helps any. It could be that the contacts are arcing and causing a voltage drop to the pump, resulting in a lower pumping output. Feel free to give us a call if you want to go through more troubleshooting or your options for replacing it. 855.329.4519
Were using deep well jet pump and pressure tank, the problem is that the pump pressure discharged overnight and we need to prime the pump every morning. Help please from the Philippines.
That 1rm2 the jet rarely bad it would have been ran dry and 99percent of the time it will have to be busted out of there and the defuser has to get payed even to get pulled out rarely bad in less ran dry make sure none of the holes are plugged with rust the impeller never really goes bad there brass the shaft stub need to be scotch Brite clean don't ever take the impeller off like he did use a spaner wrench or a 5/8 socket in the center to remove it when installing seal make sure it clean and lube with soap and put a little bit of silicone on out side of rubber cup cheap insurance make sure seal doesn't role when installing there is a oring that seal the pump housing and the bolts 5 bolts are special the need a plastic sleeves the shaft coupling when rebuild will need to be adjusted for seal pipe dope the motor shaft if replacing motor I would never use a screw driver to install seal add more lube if needed. I have rebuilt probably over 1000 of these it my favorite pump at our shop the original is a jacuzzi 1rm2 but it been rebranded of course it's the first booster I learned to do about 18years ago if you put a marker line it's way easier to put back on. good and tight is German in pump work have a great one till the next one 👍👌✌️💯💦🌊⛲

Easy to follow, easy to understand, Thank you Mr. Worst.
Glad it helped!
Awesome vid. Very hard to find this kind of information.

Great video but I hate seeing channel locks used on nuts that a proper wrench will fit
Yup, that was a mistake! We've been much better about using the right tool for the job since this video. Thanks for watching!
I found an old jet pump left outside from a previous homeowner, likely for years but worth tinkering for a bit to see if it still works.

The wires for the electrical cord goes into the pressure regulator which is the box on the side of the shaft.

It's likely that the impeller/diffuser parts in the pump end partially melted. It'd be a good idea to pop it open and take a look.

I only have any pressure reading on the gauge when I shut power off to the pump.
Installed new tank, new pump and pressure switch and new pressure gauge and foot valve and still no water pressure.
can I move the pressure cutoff switch away from the pump?
Yes, it just needs to be located within a couple feet of your pressure tank.
thanks
