My pump was apart for a week or 2 then I ordered the correct parts. Took 3 weeks after that to get a new ceramic shaft seal, spring etc... . Thanks for showing how it all goes together. By the time the parts got here, I forgot.
I have a Gould JRS7 and it has a flat head screw instead of a bolt where the propeller is… I am having the hardest time trying to get it off. It’s ridiculous. Any tips for that particular style?
Do a no load run on the motor. If it isn’t butter smooth and quiet then you need to be figuring out which bearing is bad. If it is smooth and quiet then put the pump back together. But if the motor has a bad bearing it will ruin the seal fairly quickly.
I have a Gould J7 that came with my house. I noticed a decrease in pressure and started troubleshooting with your videos and noticed that the motor was set to 230 and there is only 115 that it has been running off of. Is the damage down or would wiring it correctly help to fix the problem?
Hey Chris! Like usual your videos are awesomely terrific! Can you pretty please do a video on how a Venturi (or jet valve located inside the well) of a two pipe well system works? This system uses a jet pump. Inquiring minds want to know. :)
That nut on the impeller is always striped out a spanner wrench works the best just hope the shaft is okay if it's bad it will still leak. the white ceramic It best to silicone the rubber in cheap insurance. lube the seal with soap most likely it for drinking water. when pushed on make sure the seal dose not roll or it will also leak of course keep clean the most common reason it brake like that is from air hammering from a air pocket the impeller being unbalanced/bent wouldn't brake the seal it would have to be bent really bad and if that was the case it would most likely lock the pump end up right away first. Ps. I've been building pumps and booster for way to long it seems like now 17years so I think I done quit a bit of them. for 8 year at least 99 percent of the boosters that have come to our shop have been done by me the only time I have a problem is when the seal is cheap or low quality. I would always pick the highest quality seal if you don't want any leaks. My opinion👍👌✌️💯🥂💦🌊⛲
The flows and pressure capabilities depend on the pump model and HP. Here is a link to the brochure for the Gould's pump MCC series in the video: documentlibrary.xylemappliedwater.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/22/files/2012/07/BMCC-R5.pdf
Hey brother, just curious why you didn't show how you removed the front housing from the seal housing...if yours just simply pulled apart, that's awesome. I've never seen the cast iron housing separate easily from the stainless steel housing without using a homemade bearing puller tool. The water is pretty hard and/or corrosive in the high desert where i live and was just curious if you used any technique to separate the housing or not. Thanks, Justin Henry
We had taken it off once before this, and it took us nearly 2 hours. We ended up wrapping chains around it, hoisting it up, and used a forklift to pull down on the chains. It was tough.
hi buddy ive got a Goulds 1 H.P 2 stage jet pump mounted above ground the well is about 150FT deep im having a hard time finding parts every one wants to sell the whole pump and i have a new motor on it just need to rebuild the pump part leaky seals & o rings ni might as well change the 2 impellers can you help me in any way ? i thank you very much sir .
We sure can! Give us a call at 855.329.4519 or email us at Customer.Service@RCWorst.com. We will need to know the model # of the pump to get you pricing on parts.
AY McDonald is the preferred water pump brand we sell and install because they are 100% USA made. Check out their products here: www.rcworst.com/A-Y-McDonald-Mfg-Co-c207.html
@@RCworstwater , I just called AY McDonald. They stated only SOME of their pumps are USA made. The rest are imported (Italy and Taiwan were stated). Thought you may want to know that they changed!!!
Why don’t you go with tungsten seals, I work on t-30,t-60, and t-75 rossi and catteli circulation pumps and tungsten material seals seem to work better
That why you use that seal because of hot water and those are perty expensive seals to just put it in because you fill like it. They are a lot better seal though
Changing a seal but not bearings is like wiping before you poop. The seal doesn’t hold the shaft straight. Time will not tell. You me issue is already clear and should be fixed.

Lol
Thanks, you helped me replace the seal on a much bigger water pump. Never done it before :).
Thank you for this great and informative video. You saved me hundreds of $$$. Piece of cake!
Glad I could help!
Replacing seals on a 5hp pump tomorrow. Your video helped give me some confidence. TH-cam University! Thanks!

Great video!
Good video..👍
Thank you 👍

i have the same issue with Pedrollo water pump ... it starts leaking water and had awful and noisy sound, thnx for the video
I would be looking at the bearings in the motor. If you have a failing bearing in the motor it will cause the seal to fail.

Only one way to tell - set it to the correct voltage and fire it up!

Robert, I will work on this for you! Great request :)
how do know if the impeller defective?
It can be lost the prime because of that seal?
I can do see me.

for a Gould js5 pump?
What is the maximum psi that this type of pump can generate and run at? On a system with a expansion tank.

It called a hammer give it a good quick smack or use a old screw driver and hit it in between the housing opens every time 👍👌✌️
Put a dial indicator on motor shaft will tell you real quick if it's out.
Very nice and good . I 💕 your video. and you?
Hi .where can buy a pump parts .?
Give us a call: 855.329.4519
How long do the seals last more or less?
Loaded question. Totally depends on run tim, media, lubrication, seal material etc.
Hello
Where can we find in the Philippines, spare parts for the gould model J5S pump. photo attached.

Are there any USA pump Companies left in the USA?

I actually wanted to see the water test
Ever hear of an impact wrench?
I think you'll enjoy this video we did on removing a VERY stubborn impeller: th-cam.com/video/wxHwLBb8dOc/w-d-xo.html
I would also use another socket to hold the impeller to avoid stripping.
Can i work with you
Please help me...
I have need to leo Ajm75 pump repair Videos
I can bro .
our J10S does not leak, new impleller, doesn't appear to pump water from one bucket of water to the other bucket of water How to determine why???
Don't you want to clean the other surfaces ?
You put the seal in backwards, that’s why you got movement.
The seal is on correctly. It has to mate against the carbon component
Preze
Why big box, USPS will choke hold it and body slam it just like the cops if it was in a smaller box!
Need illustration to be on the j15s ¬ the j10s they are built differently
Why did you skip part of the rebuild watched the first video and then you go to this what about the stuff I'm the pump hosing
