- Female Red Pandas are only in season for a 24-hour period each year - so their cubs are rare and precious indeed!
Wellington Zoo is part of an international breeding programme to protect Red Pandas. Keep an eye out for young Manasa (climbing all over keeper Linda in the video in pursuit of banana) next time you're at the Zoo. His big brother, Sir Ed, was born at Wellington Zoo and now lives in Bristol with a new ladyfriend!

maybenotserious I would pay double, even triple for meat if it means the creatures are raised in comfortable conditions and slaughtered quickly so they don't know whats coming.
But I'm not going to be the only one doing that like a sap. We all have to do it, or I won't. But I wont oppose a government measure to put it in place. I would vote for it if it came up.

How is everyone getting their hands on a Red Panda? Everywhere I turn, every Zoo now has their red panda. I thought Asia was keeping them under lock and key and not playing nice with everyone? They're my favorite Caniformia. Edit: that looked super not fun when it started to climb on you. Those claws look dangerous.

Domestication is really beneficial for many species. Red pandas would especially prosper from it.

must be some sort of a dangerous sociopath and needs to be put down himself.
It should be legal to have red pandas under the strict conditions that you have the knowledge to take care of them. These animals are in danger of extinction and should be allowed to become pets. Just make sure you have plenty of outdoor space, the right food/nutrients, etc for it.
Am sure the chinese eat this adorable animal as well
