I’d like a recipe for home style Hawaiian boiled peanuts? Living in Virginia now, there are boiled peanuts further south, and roadside stands. On a trip south we gave in and stopped and got a bag. The difference was the stand we stopped at had cooked until they were almost falling out of the shells and were very soft and really salty. I am able to buy peanuts in shells and have tried cooking them in the Instant Pot. Having no recipe I have no idea how much Hawaiian salt to start with or how long to cook them to to taste like what I’m used to. And also the first thing I go hunting for when I go home, so good! Oh I should check out and see if possible to find on your menu. Thanks for sharing if you do have a recipe to share. I’m really enjoying your family gatherings with your Grandmother and Uncles. Getting new recipes from you. I’ve watched to back when your grandmother and grandfather were the show. You, your mom and grandmother going to buy bento together. Grandma knew what she liked, so cute. I look forward to the day when we can travel freely again, I miss my siblings and extended family, and I’ll be going home to catch up. And the food!!! Stay safe from COVID and latest variant that’s is working through my siblings families now, mild symptoms but none the less. Oh sorry for long inquiry. Be well. michelle

I've found that the offerings within a bento box somehow taste better because of the aesthetically pleasing presentation and the association with nostalgia...childhood memories of my mom making tempura and other goodies. 🍱 🍣🍤 Enjoyed seeing your Grandma prepare namasu and it was nice to see you preparing tonkatsu, Cari...IMO tonkatsu is comfort food elevated. ✨🌺✨

Hi 👋. Reminds me of our Mom, who just passed at the age of 94, September 01, 2021. I moved in with her, and tried my best to take care of her. Mom reminded me of a little girl. Mom was Issei, and didn't speak too much English. Mom was soooo funny. I felt soooo sorry for her. This was during Covid-19 in 2019. All she did was watch Japan T.V. station during the day.
Your Mom Reminds me of how our Mom was.
    Mom was soooo cute!!!
I really enjoyed and cherished my time with Mom. I miss her.
    Thank You for reading.
