- Hi Everyone!
Reid and I recently went to a get together where he made a very delicious Sushi Bake! This is a great dish to share with others! Enjoy!
Reid's Sushi Bake Recipe:
4 C. white rice amzn.to/3HTTeY5
imitation crab
Furikake amzn.to/3SxxplP
Cucumber (garnish)
avocado
Korean nori amzn.to/3w9A9OY
Sesame Oil amzn.to/3HPcy8M
Sriracha/Mayo amzn.to/3OvqUib
Umami sauce
Equal parts of sake, mirin (amzn.to/3uhI24r), sugar, and shoyu. (Reid added a little bit more shoyu to his sauce)
Simple Sushi Seasoning Recipe
8 parts rice vinegar amzn.to/3IjaJPO
5 parts sugar
0.5 parts salt
Mix until completely dissolved.
If you use a home rice cooker that comes with a measuring cup, then use 2 oz of sushi vinegar mixture for every 1 cup of uncooked rice.
Let the rice sit for a full 45 minutes after you hit the start button on the cooker. Then dump into a large bowl, and add the seasoning on while it's hot. Mix periodically until it cools, making sure to cover each grain of rice.

Haha! Love it!
That looked so good, trouble is here in NYC it’s hard to find imitation crab, though it’s common in Japanese restaurants.I liked this recipe so much,I’m going to try to find it.
great that papa san Reid is involved in the Local Family vids.
Right on think of some more recipes to do
Thanks, Donald!
Hey Cari- I made your mochi for my kids last weekend. I've never made it before, but they loved it! Thank you both for the videos!
Awesome! I'm glad your kids loved it, Kevin!

Aloha Cari, Reid and beautiful Ellie. First, all of your videos are great whether it's just Cari, or Cari and family or Cari and Reid. Mahalo Reid for sharing these recipes. This one looked delicious and I hope to make it in the future.
Thanks, Paula! Love all your kind words!
Love it Reid!!!
Thanks, Mary!
Awesome video! You know someone's a good cook when they don't measure & the sushi bake looked so ono! Right on, Braddah Reid!🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
He's such a natural. haha! Thank you!
I’m going to try to make it! Looks good
Thanks, Bernie!
It looks good!!! Visually, it does look like it needs more mayo. But not everyone likes a lot of mayo. For me, I like the mayo mixed with the imitation crab. That way, when it's baked, it gets a crispy texture to it.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Cari, Thank you and Reid for the vlog. The ingredients that went into the sushi rice looked soo ono. Made me hungry. Always enjoy seeing Reid's recipes and how he goes about cooking. I get some great ideas from those vlogs.
Thanks, Miles! He's pretty creative when he cooks. Something that I definitely want to improve on! Glad you're able to get some ideas from his cooking!
I like watching couples cook together. :)
Do you have any suggestions for a sushi bake without seafood? Can't have any since my husband and his family are allergic to seafood.
Spam? lol or teriyaki tofu!
The Advertiser had a recipe for Tofu Poke in 2018 that I found in my recipe clippings folder. It uses firm or deep fried tofu in place of the fish in the poke. I haven't gotten to try it with the sushi bake yet because it has become a side for everything over the past two weeks so there's none left by the time I get around to the sushi bake. Just wanted to share the alternative. :)
Reid’s guest appearances have always been interesting! I think having his own channel show would be terrific! I am making sushi bake for Super Bowl watch party, with Sriracha on the side! Thanks for all your sharing!
I would prefer the sriracha on the side too... just because I'm not too much of a fan of spice. Thanks, Marjorie!
Hello. Looks delicious
Thanks, Stacey!
I'm planning to use the instant sushi powder 1 pack for 4 c. rice. Need to make it quick this week. 🥰
Good idea, Karen! My grandma used to use that too!
You can get exceptionally high quality Kona grown Sharwil avocados at Foodland shipped to Oahu twice a week.
Good idea! I enjoy shopping at Foodland!
I just joined your channel.I cook in my channel, and I cook better when I drink white wine.It inspires me to be more creative.I stopped doing it while I was cooking while recording because I found myself repeating a lot and it was a hassle to edit.
haha so true! love white wine!
Delish👍👍👍
Thank you!
Enjoyed this video
Cari the Kirkland organic seaweed kim or nori is the best way better than that shirakiku nori
It’s the green bag even though it looks alot you can go through it quickly and it’s authentic
Kids will eat it like a snack chip. or with just plain rice
Thumbs up
We've gotten that one before too! We just don't go to Costco that often... maybe once a month....
So down for Braddah’s own show, let me know down to share ideas and what not, or even be a guest appearance 😃
We are always open to ideas!
With superbowl coming up… how about Reid making some pupu’s like
Seven layer dip
Stadium food items
Idk…. Just some ideas for braddah Reid
Good idea! Love seven layer dip and how simple it is! I'll run that by Reid!
Those girls were adorable :) Definitely have a career in being your hype men 😂
Thank you, Christina!
Please use local produce (avocados) instead of imported ones.
Thanks, Keith!
🤙🏼
Oh my freakin word. That is so so ono looking. Is your husband a chef or what. Thank you so much for this video and making me h u n g r y. Aloha. 😊😊😊😊
Thank you! He is just a guy who enjoys cooking once in awhile!
