Say what you want, but you are lucky if he's in your squad. He doesn't execute guardsmen like Commissar, he's not a creep like psykers, he had the best buff stat to squad and fanaticism turns your entire squad invincible, he also the best melee fighter unit in the whole Astra Militarum second only to general Sturnn, if your squad are forced to go on melee he's the main player.
I suppose the Imperium is a combination of the nightmarish aspects of all of the dominant armies of the 20th centrury that being Russian Imperialism/Russian Soviets (Kommisar, Kasrkin), British Imperialism/British Football Hooligans (Ogryns), German Engineering/German Nazism (high tech vehicles/ruthless leadership), French Surrender (Low Morale), American Imperialism and Religion (Catachan, Priest)
