Yeah, Blue Beetle (another lame superhero name) is actually pretty good. I always felt he was the "Spider-Man of DC" and Blue's abilities, the way its explain, is such a cool and great concept.
As weird as it is Nightwing always felt the closet DC had to Spider-man to me. Insane love life. Thing for red heads. Most acrobatic hero. Constantly quips. Is known by and has ties to literally every single hero. Started as a teen but is now an adult. Motivated by a tragedy he could have prevented if he spoke up. Revolutionized the idea of teen heroes.
Nightwing (now there's a cool superhero name) is one of my fav! Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree.

Understandable. I don't expect everyone to agree and that's fine. For me the things that make them so similar are what they stand for. Both Spidey and Nightwing are kind of the hearts of there universe's. Much like how Superman and Captain America are looked at in there universes as the shinning example of justice. Spidey and Nightwing and known as the most friendly and personally know just about every single hero.
In addition both there styles are similar in how they work. Both Nightwing and Spidey are known as the most agile characters of there worlds and the most sarcastic and light heated without being fully on goofy.

Of the New Age of Heroes lineup, I’ve only kept up with Sideways, The Terrifics, and Damage. I love each of them, and a small reason for that is because it does perhaps feel like you’re getting the inclusion of Spider-Man, Hulk, and Fantastic Four into the DCU. However, they’re stories are very original and meaningful far beyond those similarities.
P.S. the last 2 issues of Sideways were jaw droppingly good!

There is a difference in how they use the abilities and also Dr Fate had the ability of teleportation plus has been out before Nightcrawler was even a thing.

Dc has tried many times to make a Spider-Man character

Always assumed the scarab type beetle was more akin to venom. At least in the whole alien suit way.
Jaime has a living breathing family. His tech is alien. He was the 3rd in the line to be titled Blue Beetle (the original came decades before spiderman), all while shared different powers. He barely has the soap opera drama with friends and gf Parker faces. His biggest issues are just stopping the scarab from turning everyone into a paste. He wasn't even interested in being a hero, or use his powers at the start, just getting rid of that. He was such a simpleton that even after he got his powers, his biggest darkest desire was to become a dentist.
So how the f is he a spiderman copy? All cause he's a teenager who goes to school, and occasionally and realistically has to deal with the weight of his power? Marvel fans are sure desperate.

My biggest problem with DC is they literally had a teenage hero that was easily on Spider-Man level and they just fumbled the bag with how they did Static. I mean I know the reason why because his original creator didn’t want static to be with DC heroes. But lord

Who is the dc villain who was briefly in a intro of Young Justice? He was literally Spider-Man in a black suit except he was a burglar. I only vaguely remember however I distinctly remember him swinging and crawling just like Spider-Man.

Carl Dy punisher ripped off DC's "Vigilante" aka Adrian Chase, who came out 33 years before punisher, as a vigilante who isn't afraid to kill. Just about every major Marvel character has been a copy of a DC character since DC is much older.

The Amazing Spider-Man 1st issue of his 2015 run is where I started and I've enjoyed it, it picks off after Superior Spider-Man when Doc Ock took over Peter's body and became Spider-Man. They do a good job of summarizing what happened so it's a good starting point that gives you a good intro to Spider-Man
Love the Terrifics. Because this is the only title from the new age of heroes books that i buy. Plus i love Jeff Lemire's writing

I love Sideways! I really do recommend everyone to give it a read, it's something so new yet something so familiar in a weird way and has huge potential to be everything from kid with multidimensional powers saves the city to, kid with multidimensional powers saves the entire multiverse. If people haven't been picking up the single issues DC is doing a Volume 1 release on the 17th of October i think, it contains issues 1 to 6 of the series.

I don't know much about Black Spider, but just looked him up and it looks like it's just the costume with him. Sideways/Spidey have more in common though. 1: Costume. 2: Super power to move around the city fast. 3: both lost someone important in their lives early on in their super career.... and both deaths could've been prevented by the super hero. 4: both in high school when their story begins.

I'm cool with these "new" characters from DC, Marvel and DC have always lifted ideas for characters from each other.
It’s funny because it’s Marvel comics that rips off and copies DC comics most of the time. Still hoping for Marvel comics to become good again and fire their sjw writers. In the mean time I’ll be reading DC comics because they’ve been kicking ass(including Marvel’s ass) in the comics industry. Can’t say the same for the movies tho.

Funny thing is, both have copied each other in the same quantity, but DC fans stated that marvel copied more because marvel copy is just more popular and written better overall, while DC copy character is nowhere near popular or as good as marvel counterpart. Sideways is amazing. He's more than just dcs Spider-Man also. His series is one of the best out right now.
And his current story is way better than Spider-Man. DC saw how marvel was shafting Spider-Man and decided to make a similar character with a better story. They also did the same thing with the terrifics. They are basically dcs fantastic four. Everyone already knows how ff were getting screwed over at marvel. They literally stopped making stories for them until just recently. And it's funny cause with the metal event happening, dc introduced damage, the terrifics and sideways. And now they are doing amazing now marvel is deciding to do stuff with FF, make better Spiderman stories, and make better hulk stories. Dc is killing the game.

They have very different personalities and backstories, so you really can't compare beyond the fact that they are both mercenaries, which Deadpool isn't even really an assassin anymore.
