Actually Solomon Grundy came BEFORE the Hulk. Marvel created the Hulk so they had a character like Grundy, in the beginning Hulk was even grey just like Grundy.

I don't mind if he is hulk rip off. I like the character a lot and i';m loving every issue of his comic. He is similar to Robert Maverick AKA Red hulk. Robert Maverick can be red hulk for an hour as well, but the plug in stuff got modified to the point that he can be red hulk for more than an hour.

My god, it all makes sense. And is a great lead up to world war hulk's pants. After a rogue ai takes over Hulks nanotech pants, they become self aware. With the ability to withstand Hulks massive rage boner, it actually is one of the strongest and most durable characters in all of marvel!

A Soldier who signs up for a program that turns him into a monster, and can only be in that form for a certain amount of time...on the surface, he seems more like the Hulk, but this reminds me a lot of Agent Venom as well
He is so underrated we need to see more of him he needs to be just as powerful as World Breaker Hulk or beyond that

Damage’s Hour reminds me of Ben 10’s Omnitrix (Season 1 version) where he could only stay in that form for a select amount of time before having to wait for a cool down. Interesting idea to bring to DC

You did an awesome job of breaking down both the comic & the character Damage himself. I'm very interested to see where this goes as he's immediately integrated into the DC Universe. He may play a vital role with the emergence of the Ultraviolet Lantern Corp 🤷
This has been one of my favorite New Age of Heroes storylines. A beat 'em up storyline is just what DC needs to get some more diverse storylines in the mix. Can't wait for issue 9!
I think that Damage is more similar to Weapon H, and not the Hulk.
You can read the last run on Weapon X for the origin. Its basically the same as Damage's.
This is my favorite origin video of all time.
I don't know yet where I put him in my tank mental list but I love the character. His now one of my favorites.

Why do people keep thinking the Hulk is a copy of Solomon Grundy? Just because Hulk was once grey and was a big monster? Solomon Grundy is a ZOMBIE. Hulk is supposed to be like Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Damage is an obvious clone of Hulk with different skin and a time limit.
Because they only look at the dates of their inception and just assume that since they are similar now, and Grundy came out first, that Hulk is the rip off. What they fail to look in to is as you said, they were not alike, Grundy however started to become more Hulk like. Grundy came out first, Hulk was an original idea, Grundy started to emulate him. If anything, Grundy became the rip off.
Your right. The Incredible Hulk is based off of Dr. Jekyll & Mr.Hyde as well as Frankenstein.

I love these new characters. They’re awesome. My favorite is Damage. My second favorite is Sideways. Lastly are the Terrifics. 😊
I'm in the middle when it comes to this newer version of Damage since I'm somewhat used to the first version of Damage that was a member of the New Titans and was a later member of the Justice Society that had almost the same powers as the Human Bomb from the Freedom Fighters.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Damage was a kid with explosives powers before DC's Zero Hours per 52.

I still think hulk is stronger and obviously more popular but damage has a very interesting backround which resembles captain america but with his own twist and it would really be cool idea to see him in live action Dceu I really want to see more of him he sounds awesome.

The Dc's Damage story is an amazing captain america and hulk story mix and i love it a man who wants to make a difference in the world and is tired of everyone saving the world why he sits and do nothing and wants to do the right thing so he participates in a super soldier progrm but this time instead of turning him into the perfect soldier and a man any other man wish they could be he turns into something different he thought was a monster but isn't

yeah i like the whole solid stone-like look. makes him seem really durable and tough like doomsday.
I like the aspect of him only being able to maintain that form for only an hour i feel like it gives him a weakness that doesn’t seem so cheesy

He seems similar to hulk in a way that he's fueled by negative emotions but is not as blindly rampant as hulk because he was controlled almost instantly after transforming.
That, and he hates a particular person whereas hulk hates whoever makes him angry.
Damage looks really and I think he might be my favorite

Put a tracker on him, wait until the measly hour runs up then cut his head off. He is no hulk. The time limit aspect is too limiting for him to ever be a real threat.

But this is comics they'll find a way for damage to exceed the 1 hour limit one way or another give it time
Remember when hulk exceed his limits and almost fough off marvel 's heavy hitters as world breaker
@Conrad Ferrus I was referring to his limit of only having one hour to be active and exceed to a longer period as danger not his strength
@Conrad Ferrus some stories hulk does have limits such as in the 90s show when Bruce enraged the hulk to the point he passed out and in world war hulk did revert back to his human form after his fight with sentry

Damage looks to be an interesting hero (or villian ) I'd like to see more of him.
This is the first I've heard of this character what ever happened to the other damage DC had that use to explode from they're impact comics that crossed over into DC

Actually marvel's batman is nighthawk. Moon Knight is also another similar character. But Iron Man is a far cry from a Batman-typed character.

Michael O'brian actually Ironman is was meant to be Batman for Marvel.
Iron Man does has similar elements but I feel that he has evolved to be more than that. The other 2 are much more similar to Batman. I mean Nighthawk and The Squadron Supreme is directly based of Batman and Justice league respectively. And Moon Knight is just Batman with severe personality disorder.

DAMAGE IS BETTER BECAUSE HE HAS THAT TIMELIMIT! without it they would have to write damage exactly the same way as hulk. you know the whole"oh he is unbeatable huh. i guess i take his girlfriend" or the boring issues that are basicly just" what all powerful being is the hulk going to beat this month". the timelimit allows them to write a more interesting character. if they manage to at least use his weakness right. no one enjoys a story with an unbeatable main character because there's no antiapation or suprise cause you always know that the guy is going to win and that gets boring really fast.
