It would be cool if you could play as these in the new Battlefront 2 on geonosis for galactic assault. It would work as the opposite of the at te. You would have to use it’s concealed ion cannon to lower the shields on the walkers (sort of like how it works with mtts and ion disrupters on kashyyyk). The at tes would then be open to damage on all sides, not just the undercarriage (although shooting it would deal extra damage). The at te’s health would have to be lowered for balancing though.
JarJar was balance to the Force. Without him, the Clones would not have survived against the horde of droids. As JarJar racked up some kill assists with the Droid Army destroying itself and hitting those sweet sweet negative numbers. That caused a Republic Victory!
I'd think of the walker as something akin to a unit in strategy games functioning in reality. They have very little autonomy, and operaters tell them where to go, and what to shoot at.
Kinda funny to notice in a lot of the Movie Images, that there is a graphical glitch on the legs, the twin struts extending from the body, some times detach and float away from the upright portion of the legs. You can see the sloppy modeling very clearly at 6:17 of this video where the leg in front and to the right, is detached at the bottom strut, and the same goes with the leg on the left rear of the shot as well. Given this problem with the model, the leg that is front left on the screen is also detached at the bottom strut, but you can see the lack of texture aka see-thru nature of that part of the model. It was the same in other earlier movie shots of the droid and now its all I can see, like the Storm Trooper hitting his head in A New Hope.
These droids were a common sight in Star Wars: The Clone Wars video game. I agree with you that it sucks that neither these nor the Hail-fires were in the Clone Wars CGI TV show.
Again, these star wars stats are just atrociously inconsistent. This thing cannot move 90 km/h. Just reference other mobile-based vehicles that apparently cant move a 3rd of that (cough hailfire.)
