Well we couldn't do this for instance. Their comment reply section has only been around like 5 or 6 years. Plus there weren't as strict rules regarding content as there is now.

Never Mind commandos are far more practical for spec ops and frontline combat but magna guards are just better. They have incredibly strong armor, there head isn’t a weak point, and they can hold off Jedi. commandos usually don’t last as long against Jedi as magnaguards.

I think a good explanation for that would be that cortosis in canon can’t really be fitted in to these droids without hindering movement significantly and maybe increasing overall profile to.
Just use an outer layer of the same Phrik alloy as the electrostaves and it'll be fine. I suspect that wasn't the case only because of Palpatine/Sidious and his background machinations. He didn't want these droids, let alone Grievous himself, to be TOO difficult to destroy, just difficult enough that they would serve their purpose in his schemes.
Wait a second, Grievous personally train each and every one of them?!!?! In that case, then, losing a Magnaguard would be the equivalent of losing a clone trooper... Whenever you lost a clone trooper like Fives, Waxer, or Hevy (And Hardcase) you lost their unique personalities that came with each clone... So in a way, whenever Grievous lost one of his Magnaguard, he'd lose the training and skills possessed by that individual Magnaguard...

I still have the Lego Star Wars Magnaguard starfighter that came with these little minifigure Magnaguards. Very cool and intimidating design, especially with cloak, completes the look.
Bro instead of the armour they already have, just imagine bescar armour and spears. Also instead of dark troopers in the mandolorian just imagine these droids
In the vintage star wars animation they shine really well, intimidating af, love how they spin the staff or make complex jumps with it (best example is in the figth with anakin n the yellow ones, one of em isnt toutching the ground for a moment but for his stave, super quick)

@@agentc7020 you have to take into account their duranium frames, the Terminator wiki doesn't specifically say if their skeletons are made of steel or titanium, but i don't think they would last long against a barrage of a B2s repeater, those things fire rate is insane, also the T-800s don't appear to have a sturdy frame to protect their inner components against the highly refined plasma of SW, Clone Troopers with the heavy DC-15A wich was ion based had trouble taking them down, compared to the primitive Skynet plasma weaponry, i don't think it would pack a lot of punch against the B2s, then you have the rocket variants and the jump jet B2s. But that's just my guess

One huge omission was their introduction to the star wars universe via the 2003 clone wars animated series when they helped in the capture of Palpatine during the attack on Corusant.
Grab the Magnastaffs after a battle and you can get a nice supply of Phrik alloy to reforge into useful gear. There's Lightsabers and Lightstaffs, shields and armour and even blasters. And post Clone Wars maybe a quick raid on Baktoid Armor Workshops while it's chaos when the CIS is shut down - although if you're Jedi, getting out of dodge would be priority number one.
Commando droids: can go without waist an arm or hands as long as it has a head Magna gards: can operate without its head arm and leg as long as it has its chest
That fight with the swordsman was actually Ford's idea. It turns out he was sick that day and didn't have the energy for a fight, so he suggested to Lucas "Can't I just shoot the guy?" Which he thought would be really funny and it was. One of the most classic fight scenes in modern cinema was a complete fluke as it turns out.

I always found it weird that they are suppose to be able to keep fighting even without their heads, but when that one Magna guard survived from being crushed by that weight he was killed as soon as Kenobi cut off his head? Think Lucas instantly forgot that he made them able to fight without their heads in a short amount of time.
Like a cockroach, cutting off its head won't kill it. Grievous and the CIS have so much in common with bugs. And lets not forget Admiral Trench. Raid would've made a fortune using clone armor as advertising space.
I once found that ig-100 to ig-105 have the same bodies but different programming and basically a different color, see episode III blue ig-101 and white ig-102
While I know that the IG Assassin droids are more famous I would love to see the magnaguards more post clone wars either as bodyguards for Crime lords or independent bounty hunters like IG-88.
Commando Droids were used for different reasons. Mostly infiltration assassination and stealthy recon. Magnaguards were used as personal defence force of high ranking separatist leaders. Ofc commando droids are more useful for war but the guards could hold their own even 1 on 1 against jedi knights. They would still lose vs masters though.

Great clip I really did the they would be much much better. Personal the driod commando units were better on security to officers in my opinion. I would have made there swords out off a light saber resistance metal and went with that way. If I were in the CIS.
