@@somersfamily Hes actually correct. The equal length headers actually help with flow and its better for the boxter motor but the bad part is that you lose that famous RUMBLE.

This STi is sweet! The color, of course, but the research done to have all the modifications and additions so integrated, and seem like it was all from the factory OEM, tonwork so well together, and the aesthetic personalization details to make it unique. Very well done, and it sounds so smooth. The echaustvworks so well with the tune and shifter. You described it well. So many tuners see all the stuff out there, and are not as knowledgeable, and don't do their homework to make sure everyone works, and does not cause adverse and detrimental effects and operational problems, or the hack a vehicle, doing alterations that ruin a vehicle, especially when not done professionally. This is probably one of the best ones I have seen regarding a very well planned out set up to get everything done right.
I'd love to see a video where you direct compare a stock STI vs a Stage 1(+), stage 2, stage 3 and stage 3 w/flex fuel. Would be a bonus if they were all tuned via COBB AP OTS tunes because that is such an accessible option for so many STI owners.

I think the reason why the Subaru rally cars switch to front mount intercooler is because it would be more easier to do work on. I may be wrong but the NBR challenge car and the N24 cars all have top mounted intercooler.
Nice mods and great review as usual. I love the car color and cool taillights and dual exhaust. Also the 19 wheels super cool Not a big fan of too big rear wing spoiler though I feel it is improportate to the car size. I would remove it all together Thanks Joe

If you want power for a cheap price, go with MAPerformance stage 2... holy cow my STI woke up all of a sudden, I had the Cobb stage 1+ but the intake+box was so loud in the cabin that it was literally a pain in the ass at times. MAP's stage 2 is amazing and so much smoother, not to mention you regain the feel of I, S and S#
I love your videos Joe I drive an RS myself but I have to say I find it so hard to get excited for the STI it’s a great car but it really is the same old car to me so they added some LED’s and different wheels but honestly it’s in desperate need of a refresh not to mention the motor which is dated in my opinion. It’s a great car but I think as Mitsubishi has done I don’t think Subaru is investing too much into their Motorsport division. Hopefully they will introduce something new in the next year or 2. Keep up the great work.
Hi Joe if I was you I would stay with your RS you can get around 500 horsepower out of that engine. When you have a chance watch Shmee 150 he has a RS with around 500 horse and a few other mods.I really enjoyed your Vlog today. 👍😎
2015+ STI’s look amazing but if you want power keep you’re RS no reason to downgrade speed. If speed isn’t a priority then I would go for the STI or 2015+ Golf R, all are great 👍🏻
Honestly my dream car in the vid. It will be a few years but I am getting one. I’m 35 so my goal is by 40. Kid will be in high school etc. I have a questions tho....my goal is to save up $10,000 for either a down payment or take $10,000 aside and set it for mods/performance. I’m not looking for anything crazy (built block/e85 etc). Just basic bolt ons/suspension etc. would you think it would be smart to put the $10,000 down on the car and slowly mod it or just go to a subi performance shop with the 10k and saying what can you do in my budget lol

i loved the 03 evo 8 i had it was modded then i just traded in my 2014 evo x for a 2017 sti and i can say i'm very happy i did as much as i love the evo 8 i don't know maybe cause the evo x was stock but it just didn't feel the same and i have that fun again with the sti and its stock like the evo x was
I test drove a 2019 WRX Today. I think I'm going to buy one :) I love the tints on this car. Any idea on the %? Also, I really wish those Perrin Spoiler Supports came stock. They just make the spoiler look so much more aggressive. Hope you buy an STi or WRX :)

it has to be, the 2018 Sti has the old unit, and this one shown doesn't have the Navi option (as far as I can tell, I see a key dangling in the ignition, subaru doesn't have an option for Navi without push start) all I can think is this was an "aftermarket" add on. I could be wrong, but at least when I got my 2018 subaru wouldn't let you pick and choose what you wanted or not, just all "packages"
Yeah.... Intake, Tune and Cat back is a waste without upgrading the dump pipe. I'm sure a Dump Pipe and Tune would net more HP. In an STi that factory dump pipe has got to go.
Yea I'd pass. Depending on where you live 4k off MSRP is totally doable on one with no added mileage. I got around that kind of discount on a '19 STi and it came with 5 miles on it back in March without even really trying. Orders on the 2020 open up very soon so dealers want to move the old models even more.

I doubt this car runs the quarter even .2 faster than a stock STi. This car is the literal definition of rice (race inspired cosmetic enhancements). He could of just gotten a better car out of the box for what this costs instead of destroying a completely fine car. Hes also running OTS and not a pro tune which is absolutely asking for problems, I bet this guy is crying at the dealer telling them that they need to pay for his new short block in 6 months when this engine grenades itself due to the constant boost creep. I loved the Silver STi joe did because you can tell the owner did that one right, this on the other hand is a joke with how its tuned, I'm just surprised I didd't see a BOV and AEM intake! The fact hes running only a catback and not a TBE in FL where there's no emissions check says it all. This car needs at least another $7k+ in work to give it actual power gains and make it run reliably and by then your square in preowned GTR territory as far as what you could get for the money.

It has the newer 7'' screen without carplay. 19's use a different hardware controller which is why there's no retrofit.
