Hi Guys, Hope you are all well. We currently run the XJR engine in the Scottish Legends car series in the UK. How reliable is the new FZ09 engine, have you had any issues and where do you get the conversion kit ? Drive Safe.

Hey we got our first FZ09 when they became available in 2018. So far we have had very little as far as problems go. Problems we did have was a bad fuel injector and a bad fuel pump. The fuel pump I would blame on first gen equipment. I have not had these problems since. as far as reliability I am very happy with it over the last 3 years. Gone are the days of Rolling the dice on the FJ1250. Liquid cooled are much more reliable then the air cooled motors of the past. My conversion kit is From US Legend Cars and was provided through our local dealer Canadian Legend Cars.
Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

@@MattHaufe Would you say the two engines are identical in power or no?

Hey I would say the 1250 and FZ09 are comparable. I would say 99% of the fast Competition has made the switch to the Fz09. The 1250 has more torque off the Corner but falls flat about halfway down the straight away. Where the FZ09 keeps pulling longer down the straight away. My lap time's on both motors are very close to the same. The Fz09 is just much more reliable in my experience.

@@MattHaufe I have a fz 09 2014 abs engine, is there a problem if I do not connect the abs

    • @MattHaufe

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe you are referring to Anti lock braking system. Is this engine in a bike, legend car, or something else?
We don't have abs or traction control in our legends. Do you need ABS? That would be up to you but it may throw codes in the bike. US Legend Cars built there own ECU to delete a lot of things not required on the race motors. Hopefully I may have answered your question. If not let me know :)

My guess would be it will work with out however you will probably get a warning light on the dash if you have a stock dash.
