I saw them warmup before the Stones in Jacksonville on October 2, 1975. No one waned them to leave the stage. My friend Steve and I hitch-hiked to the Gator Bowl that weekend. What a time!
Damn I was at this show. I saw them prob 20 times before this. 30 times after but this show always stands out in my mind. I was right in front and J.Geils was about 5 feet away from me. They were in their prime. Peter's voice was strong as ever. I remember Bill Graham came out and kept telling them to come back on. "The Bad Boys from Boston" As far as live maybe only Springsteen could do it better. But truly artists. Thx 4 posting.
He’s the scoop! My brother was really into Geils and I was an up and coming rock guitarist. He use to listen them all the time and I was whatever. Well, my taste of music(Blues Now) changed and now they sound great now! 2021!
I was here... One of many times at Winterland... It's a shame that a lot of people only know J. Geils from songs like Centerfold..... This show, and all the earlier shows were this band in their prime!
@@philbrown1474 …. Humble Pie, Johnny Winter (many times), Montrose (many times), Frampton, Foghat, and many others…. They all played Winterland back in the seventies…. Great nights for around $4.50 every weekend!
@4:50 the whole band freezes.....the time I saw this in1977 I was about to freak, having smoked two joints and drank a bottle of Annie Green Springs, I was afraid I was the only witnessing this event.....was so relieved to find I was not
What a great band, back in the hey day of J Geils R & B groove. Unfortunately came Freeze Frame and the sellout days. Whatever. The music is what lasts and they were superb recording and the live performances too of course.
Who's better? Jagger, Tyler, Daltrey? Nah. All great but not better than Peter. Saw him right before the pandemic, dude is like 70 and was still getting it done.
Did you see Peter Wolf jumping around on stage with a foam electric guitar? They were the funnest band. Wolf pole vaulting around on stage with his mike stand
J. Geils Band.... Great live band.... One of the best!
