@@davidperry7271 Actually love stinks is a good record. It's freeze frame that I don't like. The two live records Full House and Blow Your Face Out are essential rock L.P.s and are classic balls out rock.
this video shows how hard they worked every time they took the stage. I went to two of their concerts in 1982 and man did we get our exercise. every second was memorable.
Living in Massachusetts I had the absolute pleasure of probably seeing this band at least 10 times in their Prime. this is one of the greatest live acts ever in history of rock and roll. Ain't nothing but a house party!
Saw them in 1974 cobo arena detroit mich.golden earing, mountain then j.geils band.rolled out the white carpet and came out and put on the most upbeat ,rock show I have river seen.true professionals and great rock and rollers
Saw these bad boys many times at the old Boston Garden and they without a doubt were one if not THE BEST to rock that old foundation. Wooba Gooba all night 😎long
I saw them twice, 1977 and 79. They were fantastic live. Wild. One of my favorite songs was Chimes. I loved the 1970s music, but once they started the glam rock like Aerosmith and others, forget it. But as far as the 1970s went, it was pretty hard to beat these guys in concert👍
None better. When I was a grad student in 1982-83, I used to run into Peter Wolf all the time, just hangin' out in Harvard Square. I had a part-time job in a record store in Back Bay, and I would sometimes see him on Newbury Street, too. I always felt privileged, yet he was never full of himself -- just a decent, terrific guy. I've seen J. Geils twice in my hometown of Chicago and once in Kemore Square, Boston. This video is typical -- they never disappoint.
Saw Geils for the first time at Boston Garden in 1981. I was 15. My brother took me. They opened with "Just Can't Stop Me" and they didn't stop for 3 hours. Best concert I have ever been to and second place isn't even close. Second place, BTW, was Aerosmith at the Orpheum, NYE 1983, maybe. They had just gotten back together and this was their first show back in Boston.
I saw him last weekend at the Cabot Theater in Beverly, MA. Amazing energy still. Danny Klein has a band called Danny Klein's Full House. They're playing at Bull Run in Shirley, MA on November 12. I'd go but I have tickets to see Nitty Gritty Dirt Band that night.
Great song Great album period 👌 I got to see them at the Los Angeles Colusiem with George T. And the Rolling Stones I talked my way in with no money and no ticket not everything is a complete bummer for me 🎉
I used to go to every New England show from the late 70's into the 2000's And yes, I'll say it, they blew Aerosmith off the stage at Fenway Park in 2K10 even with a shortened set, and J. being propped up like Joe Biden by a young stud. No disrespect to Jay, RIP, or to Aerosmith who I saw around 15 times, but Geils was the best live band of the era!
my teenage years slowly slipped into my golden years i love being alive spirit realm not as much fun if you know what i mean tod infinity . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Do you have footage of J Geils on New Years Eve at The Leroy Theatre in 1978? Peter Wolf was serenading a young girl and then gave her a rose! That was me! I’d love to see a film clip or pic🥰‼️
They stole the show at day on the green. After a day of Nazareth, UFO and Thin Lizzy with Gary Moore They came on and just put on a live show with no compare Journey was the headliner and don't get me wrong. There's a time and place for Journey but not to headline this show. We left early because after J Geils blew the roof off. We wasn't feeling at all like hugging, touching or squeezing. Just saying. J Geils was one of the greatest love band's Anyone could ever see. I mean they stole the show at candle stick from the Stones George thorogood got us ready and Geils just did the rest Mick and the boy's Looked tired and Peter, magic and Mr Geils Who is one of the most underrated guitarist's ever. Had that crowd rocking. I've seen Kids, Alice and all their theatrics are great but to feel the music. Raw and just straight in your face. Geils was one of the best love band's I have ever seen Only one that holds a candle to them for me. Was Deep Purple at Cal Jam. Seriously 🎯👊💯
Agree with you on the Stones show at Candlestick, I was there, but my favorite show was at a smaller venue called the Sacramento Memorial auditorium two years earlier and they blew the roof off of that sucker that night. Will never forget it…made me a lifetime fan😎
The Rock Hall has kinda ignored some greats. I know The J. Geils Band is from Boston, but, they LOVED Detroit! It's a shame; them, Grand Funk Railroad, and Ted Nugent aren't in. Can't figure that one out.
Took until 2018 for The Cars and Dire Straits to get in. This year the Dave F'n Matthews Band gets inducted but the J. Geils Band has been nominated FIVE times (2005, 2006, 2011, 2017, 2018) and is still out in the cold. A pathetic joke.
The mighty J Geils Band!!!
The fact that this band (along with many others) isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame shows what a sham it is.
It is certainly a joke
What??!! 😮 J Geils isn’t in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame??!! Shocking! So wrong!!

Just like the Blues Brothers' band, they had a sound powerful enough to turn goat piss into gasoline.
J. Geils is so underrated as a guitar player! They were always on point, great live band!
Yeah yeah yeah everybody's underrated blah blah blah.
The harmonica n guitar are so in tune w each other. Jus loved their music
this video shows how hard they worked every time they took the stage. I went to two of their concerts in 1982 and man did we get our exercise. every second was memorable.
The J. Girls band rocked Detroit for 4 nights in a row back in 1979(?). What great performances. You did not sit the whole show. Incredible Rockers!
Living in Massachusetts I had the absolute pleasure of probably seeing this band at least 10 times in their Prime. this is one of the greatest live acts ever in history of rock and roll. Ain't nothing but a house party!
Living in Detroit, I agree.

My 1st show I was 16 April Wine opened the show. In Cali. In 1978. Damn I miss these days.
saw them in 78 at a collage auditorium in Dallas, Eddy Money ,who had the hit, One ticket to paradise opened the show. Fantastic
My second concert was Geils in March 1980 - home in the Boston Garden. I remember nothing so it's good to see these recordings!!
Yea back wen it was th Boston Garden !! th best times !!
My second also in Maine
Best live act!
The most "fun" live band I've ever witnessed. Just a vibe throughout the entire show.
Best two Live albums that I own. Full House and Blow Your Face Off, which delivers on the promise !
Most underrated band of all time.
