  • Ayyy! I was never happy with how I formatted these two sections in my main guide and am pleased I got a chance to redo it. Thank you so so much to everyone who helped me record custom footage for this one - I think it turned out great!

    • @KyleCorbeau
      @KyleCorbeau 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Those aren't as high priority to track as lets say a grav because they are easily countered by positioning and game sense. By knowing they having a soldier, mccree, widow, or ashe at all, regardless of ult status, you shouldn't be in the air too much and/or away from cover because there are very few teammates that will be able to help you there if they have good aim. McCree's and Soldier's ults are only deadly to Mercy if you don't know where they are positioned (ie. game sense) and/or if you choose to stay in bad places like the middle of the air where no one can help you and there's nothing to hide behind (ie. positioning). Whereas a grav or dragon is deadly to your whole team and can be used through a wall if they're clever making it much more deadly to you.
      Personally, I think Mercy should always strive to ult track _every_ ultimate (even opposing support ultimates) as your teammates have a lot on their plates and can use all the help they can get. Call outs and ult tracking are some of _the_ most valuable things a Mercy can contribute to their team since they have the ability to be looking at the situation as a whole to see who on the enemy team is getting the most value instead of focusing on what they are aiming at (which can lead to tunnel visioning). The hard part is getting your team to take the call outs more seriously since you _can_ see the situation as a whole better than they can most of the time; I can't tell you the amount of times I've called out an ultimate that was about to be used and just had everyone ignore me and _immediately_ die to it.

    • @christianchapin4594
      @christianchapin4594 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      A little tip to avoid that: Go high up and utilize walls that are way up there to avoid those kind of ults. For example, the indoor map on Nepal. You can utilize those walls way up there to basically avoid the entire enemy team while still being able to see your team, it’s very helpful

    We play very similarly! I would advise pretty much the same things. Especially keeping track of ults and mobility skills like Genji dashes. I would add Mcree ult to the list of things to keep track of. You do not want valk to go to waste and mcree is always happy to solo ult a mercy.

    • @din6675
      @din6675 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But also Mercy mobility is really what sets apart good mercys from bad mercys. Really practice holding/releasing GA to gain as much speed/distance/height as you need in every situation. You can also change direction mid jump, pick different heal targets, keep flying while looking in another direction. Also her hitbox becomes a noodle when she GAs so abuse that. Even though you are priority n1, I find that the higher the mmr the more I get ignored because people don't want to waste time chasing me, looking up and missing their shots.

      Why would she do a video on pharmercy? That combo isn't as effective in higher tiers of competitive because people actually know how to aim well enough to take them out lol

    • @stevenseufert2520
      @stevenseufert2520 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Starlette, not only do the majority of players not play at the top levels of competitive, but even the professional players in the Overwatch League run Pharmacy (and players there can aim QUITE well).

    • @starlette7820
      @starlette7820 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean that's true, but pharmercy is honestly not a difficult thing to do, you just fly around with your beam up pharah's ass and keep behind corners where mccree's and soldiers cant hit you if you can manage it. Like what is she supposed to say about it? It's a combo not a strategy. She's trying to focus on Mercy as a character and how to use her abilities in a team setting. Not just with specific characters.

    I know "grind the game to learn it" is something people fight over but IMO for game sense it's something you won't get around. Especially ult tracking, reading enemies movements and developing reflexes to act to those is something that will just develop over time while playing(against actual humans) and that you will have to adapt to in different ranks. I still get flustered when playing with my bronze friends what weird shit some people do "down there"...

      Good question! I personally find Mercy to be one of the best shot callers because she doesn't have to focus on combat/aimining and can usually position behind the rest of the team, giving a good view of everything - so the ult tracking is really helpful when relaying the information to the team
      Grav wiping everyone is a fair point but stuff like Reaper/Soldier/Genji can definitely be made less effective by tracking, as can ults where the user goes for Mercy first

    This really shows the difference between a grand master mercy and a gold mercy she requires alot of gamesense and positioning to be effective

    Hey Niandra! I've been subbed for a while now and I just wanted to know what are your render settings? Also do you know any fixes for this problem? So basically, when I Shadowplay stuff in 1080p, the playback recordings and rendered videos are great quality but when I upload to yt, it becomes grainy. Would you know any solutions to that?
