Plays so many instruments, sings like an Angel, and writes the best songs...I'm a YES/Super Tramp fanatic, but this guy is YES all put together, all in ONE!!! Thank You Roger. How many of you love Supertramp Eh! I used to live in Montreal Canada 🇨🇦 as a Montreal Police Officer since 1984 when I was 18. I was on patrol and responded to a shooting involving a MP officer shot, and I quickly responded the call & Sadly she didn't make it!! We hunted for the shooter, and he was ready for us & we where out numbered from all the fire power he had!! I was shot 2 times in my left leg, and 1 in the back & now I'm in a wheelchair for life!! Enough of that horrible frightening story Eh! Came to America in 2017 when I was 50 years old and I truly love it here & I always love my country of Canada 🇨🇦 Saw this concert with my former MP officers, and I was hooked when " Breakfast of America " came out! I'm a die-hard fan, and saw Supertramp so many times & been missing out alot of concerts, because I'm now in a Nursing Home made only for law enforcement officers and since I was in MP officer for Canada, I was their too with the brothers in blue and they treated me as one of their own!! 👮🏻🇺🇲 Thanks for hearing me out &lets enjoy the music I'm going to be 57 on March 22nd which is my mom and dad birthday, we all share the same birthday! Pretty wild Eh!

Roger Hodgson is an incredible person, one of the important members of well known group Supertramp. then left the group took some time to take care of some affairs in his life, most importantly to raise his children. then came back to his life in the music business as an ultra great musician. like he said you can tell that he's even more happy now that's so good for him. I'm so glad that this has worked out so well for him, we really appreciate it Roger Hodgson thank you.

Reminds me of my family’s trip back to Sweden in 1979. Back to where my mother was born. We listened to Supertramp throughout our travels the entire time. I was 13. It’s now 2020.❤️🇸🇪

This is the first time I have seen this particular performance and I am stunned, I have been a fan of Supertramp and Roger for many years, I worked at a rock venue for 8 years and never got an oppurtunity to see him in person or the band for that matter and at almost 74 I probably won't but would leave my death bed for the chance.

Was für ein Konzert.. nur Roger mit einem guten Freund zusammen spielen vor tausenden von begeisterten Menschen.. so was kann weder Pink Foyd mit iher Materialschlacht noch sonst wer auch nur annähernd erreichen.. ..und was da neben der wunderbaren Musik und dem Talent der Beiden auch noch menschlich so rüberkommt.. ..und vor ein paar Jahren ist er auch zu uns gekommen nach Aachen und hat Open Air im Stadtpark gespielt.. das muss man sich mal vorstellen.. In die Bezahl-Arena passten nur kanpp zweitausend Menschen.. aber Roger spielte auch für die vielen tausend Menschen, die in dieser warmen Sommernacht auch noch im Stadtpark waren.. weil er sein Publikum liebt.. ..God bless You Roger...😍🤗🤩

This concert in Montreal contains the best version of "Hide in your Shell" ever recorded. And, my personal belief, it's the way Roger intended it to be. No drums, no distractions just his voice and his message crying out. When you pair this song with "Give a little bit" you get a sense Roger is a true humanitarian musician like John Denver. World class musicians and singer songwriters. Edit: I'd like to talk more about the difference in the rest of the band plus Roger versus Roger and an awesomely able accompanist like he had in Montreal with Aaron Macdonald. The song "Give a little bit" works well enough with just Roger and a guitar. But when you add the drums and bass the song really comes alive. They pick up the melody and become a platform to carry it forward. The interplay between Roger, the 12 string guitar and saxophone is free to explore the musical space riding along the percussive path dug ahead for them. Now take "Hide in your Shell" both the studio version and this live performance in Montreal. I liked the song as I first heard it on the Crime of the Century album but I didn't love it. There's something about the drums and bass that I found musically unsettling. Like it didn't fit. Wasn't right for the song. It punctuated what Roger was trying to sing/say/play but to my ears it overpunctuated. Or just did it unnecessarily. It wasn't additive to the song and I feel it all detracted from what Roger intended. But, he was part of a band back then so the recorded studio version is what it is. It wasn't until I heard this excellent Montreal version of "Hide in your Shell" that I was able to finally see it. Hearing this song with just the Accompanist, hearing the voice and melody free to fill the space, the subject matter free to be front of mind. This version of "Shell" is Roger's artistry in fullest bloom.

"Hide in your shell" has to be one of the most spectacularly beautiful musical pieces while also being an amazingly evocative and thoughtful contemplation of human frailties. It scarcely seems possible for all of that to occur in one composition. Have always loved it, right up there with Orbison's "In Dreams" for beauty and effect.

I hope that my post doesn't offend anyone? I struggled with my sexual orientation and Know Who You Are was my coming out song. I new I was Gay when I was 13 years old. That was in 1972, same year my father passed away. Kept all this inside me, then in 1979 when I was 20 years old, my mother committed suicide and I went threw a major crisis in my life and I wanted to take my own life. I was married when I was 18 years old, and hiding from my true self. I came out in 1995 when I was 36 years old. At this point I was divorced and a father with 3 children. That song brings me peace!

This concert in Montreal contains the best version of "Hide in your Shell" ever recorded.
And, my personal belief, it's the way Roger intended it to be. No drums, no distractions just his voice and his message crying out.
When you pair this song with "Give a little bit" you get a sense Roger is a true humanitarian musician like John Denver. World class musicians and singer songwriters.
Edit: I'd like to talk more about the difference in the rest of the band plus Roger versus Roger and an awesomely able accompanist like he had in Montreal with Aaron Macdonald.
The song "Give a little bit" works well enough with just Roger and a guitar. But when you add the drums and bass the song really comes alive. They pick up the melody and become a platform to carry it forward.
The interplay between Roger, the 12 string guitar and saxophone is free to explore the musical space riding along the percussive path dug ahead for them.
Now take "Hide in your Shell" both the studio version and this live performance in Montreal.
I liked the song as I first heard it on the Crime of the Century album but I didn't love it. There's something about the drums and bass that I found musically unsettling. Like it didn't fit. Wasn't right for the song. It punctuated what Roger was trying to sing/say/play but to my ears it overpunctuated. Or just did it unnecessarily.
It wasn't additive to the song and I feel it all detracted from what Roger intended. But, he was part of a band back then so the recorded studio version is what it is.
It wasn't until I heard this excellent Montreal version of "Hide in your Shell" that I was able to finally see it. Hearing this song with just the Accompanist, hearing the voice and melody free to fill the space, the subject matter free to be front of mind.
This version of "Shell" is Roger's artistry in fullest bloom.

Так много комментариев, устал листать, и только два на русском, неужели до сих пор с советских времен и сейчас в России так мало поклонников этой великолепной группы Supertramp ну и конечно же талантливейшей личности коей является Roger Hodgson. Мне ближе по духу Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, но Supertramp и Роджера обожаю до глубины души.

"Hide in your shell" has to be one of the most spectacularly beautiful musical pieces while also being an amazingly evocative and thoughtful contemplation of human frailties. It scarcely seems possible for all of that to occur in one composition.
Have always loved it, right up there with Orbison's "In Dreams" for beauty and effect.

I hope that my post doesn't offend anyone? I struggled with my sexual orientation and Know Who You Are was my coming out song. I new I was Gay when I was 13 years old. That was in 1972, same year my father passed away. Kept all this inside me, then in 1979 when I was 20 years old, my mother committed suicide and I went threw a major crisis in my life and I wanted to take my own life. I was married when I was 18 years old, and hiding from my true self. I came out in 1995 when I was 36 years old. At this point I was divorced and a father with 3 children.

Concert filmed live at Place des Arts in Montreal, Quebec on June 6, 2006. Live in Montreal is Roger Hodgson's first DVD. It was released in Canada on August 28, 2006. It should not be said that this concert is a live show from 2007.
