1993-1994 Lexus LS400 Cabin Air Filter Replacement

This video is for 1993-1994 Lexus LS400 ONLY. THIS WILL NOT WORK ON 1990-1992 MODELS BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T BUILT OR DESIGNED WITH ONE UNTIL 1993.

More. The two filters slide together in a tongue and groove arrangement. Further, each filter on the bottom as a tab and these tabs fit into the slots on the white piece that you remove. Look at the white piece and where the tabs on the filters are located. This will give you the idea.

At the 1:30 part, where you're pulling out the cover - THERE IS A CLIP TO RELEASE FIRST, way underneath. If you fail to release this clip, it will break off. It will. You can find these filters for sale on eBay but at about $30 each or about 1/2 that price on Amazon. And you need two. You can also search for CAF97P2 Cabin Air Filter.

Q; Wich way is athe direction of air flow?
My original Lexus filter has an arrow pointing upward and it says "UP".
Replacement filter has and arrow and suggesting flow of air in certain direction.
I have put the arrow of rwplacemt filter in up possition, hopefully it will be ok.

Just found out filter will fit into frame in one direction only, that must be the direction of air flow

"Here's how I would change the air filter, if I had one". Wow, like, this is how I would tune up a car, if I had spark plugs, wires, filters, etc. but I don't have those so just fill in the blanks yourself.

Yet again. If you order CAF97P2 from jet.com, you get BOTH filters so don't order two of these items. Jet is very fast, very cheap, and the filters fit in perfectly. The filters are articulated so put them as this video suggests, but make sure the tongue and groove match when putting in the second filter and the tabs are in place so the white piece fits correctly.
