How Lopez was Caught Doping like a Rat at the Giro d'Italia

  • Miguel Angel Lopez has been sanctioned 4 years by the UCI for doping with menotropin in the Giro d'Italia. How was he caught and why was he linked to strange doctors like Marcos Maynar and to characters implicated in Operación Puerto like Vicente Belda Vicedo? And if Pogacar wins clean, how do these guys do to be doped and lose?

The drug is used in a doping context to stimulate testosterone production, which can be suppressed by endurance exercise. Some men will respond better to the kind of extreme exercise that pro cyclists engage in, thus they have a genetic advantage: their testosterone doesn’t drop like in some men, indeed they might have higher natural baseline levels. Seen in this light, drugs could be seen as balancing the playing field and resulting in a fairer competition.

Reasons why I don't waste any of my time watching professional cycling anymore, there's many more other better things to do. I on the other hand in my early years I'd play a good game of Street ball, American football with a twist, unprotected full contact ball, many will think that I was doing drugs, no dugs involved, dominating the field on both sides of the ball was my game and doing so really gave me a boost knowing that I can do it without any type of P.E.Ds, when I hear the other side asking each other where's # 54, that's when I know that I got them on the ropes, they don't want to be no where close to the ball because they know if I am than a Monster hit is coming their way, after a good game I'd jump on my bicycle for a good spin.
On another note: I now live in the Netherlands and I used to work with a former Dutch Professional cycling team mechanic while I working at a bicycle shop here in HOLLAND and just so happens his uncle was the team manager of the same team. One day while talking about Professional cycling and I was asking them about the use of drugs in pro cycling, his uncle then said flat out right we all did it because we knew the other teams were doping so we had to do it as well because our sponsors want's results, no results, no sponsorship $$$, simple as that, this talk happened way back in 1997/1998.Sorry to say, I will keep the name of this team under wraps, even though many of us may know which team that I am talking about.
