He doesn't realize it but most of the stagger/sweep into Armor are legit mixups thats lost on most. Most players only understand OH/Low mix and there is auto shimmy, hit/throw, frame trap mix, blockstring kameo pressure mix, plus strings into delayed kameo baits, -4ob into backdash for wiff punishing and high/overhead mix(HL players microduck highs on reads & Mid/Lows/OH's catch them unless they DuckOS. But even a competitive player like me who plays locally in tournaments learns so much from Rewinds guides! Much love
For fellow Smoke mains, Smoke’s B4 is also plus. I did not even think to use this but I’m going to start testing in KL to see if that solves some problems I have with getting B2 to keep from getting interrupted (and to land).

A jump kick hitting a grounded opponent can combo into a mid hat toss (down back 1) which can combo into the far version of Goro ambush. This grants just over a throw's worth of damage and a bit of hit advantage.
With a lot of char. A sweep then throw is a good manuver....also don't forget the spin move the enhanced one can move around and during that spin moving u are invincible against everything....I'll do it at beginning of match and it will eat projectiles like Serena and jump kicks etc. But great guide I am going to try it now lol thanks

I found this out by accident at the start of a round a week ago vs Raiden. I stood 4 when I was trying to to do soaring monk and just stand kicked Raiden right out of the air. It set the tone and I whooped him the whole match lol.
W tutorial this made me understand why I got my ass beat by that one kung Lao player he won 2-1 felt good when I conditioned him to stop dive kicking into D4 in neutral tho
I know that goro is a pretty good launch that allows kung lao to continue a combo but scorpion is too and I actually prefer him because "up RB" bring your opponent bclose to kung lao allowing him to continue the combo
The problem with Scorpion is that paired with Kung Lao it's only a combo extender. Whereas Goro is not only a combo extender, also covers unsafe moves like f2 or db4, is a string extender, and helps with KL's zoning. Scorpion Kameo is just inferior in this case.
Started playing this game but there's something that's confusing me. The meterless corner combo... Why doesn't stand for come out more quickly and consistently after I do the goro kameo? Not worth it, since Goro does what Sonya does and more. Sonya Kameo with Kung Lao is mostly a combo extender. The rest of her kit is either inferior or limited utility: her leg grab is a mid, Goro's grab is overhead; Ring Toss doesn't help with zoning, and charging it only works in oki but doesn't add anything KL can't do already in that situation.

Youre sleeping on the B14 as a mixup, the second hit is a low and it combos w Goro and the first hit is 6 frames and punishes ALOT of characters who use -7 moves and think theyre safe lol

I just started couple days ago but I like it so far, I’m maining Kung Lao right now and trying to get the ground-to-air kombos committed to memory depending on who I’m fighting (you’re right about that) It’s been so fun! Reiko & Shao Kahn are a pain in the ass to fight so far 😭🤣.

5:40 li mei can punish it either way her EX db3 and go into a full combo with scorpion. So only ever use it in conjunction with goro against her

Pretty much right away, just do B33 into Goro all in one motion
DB4 J4 works in corner instead of J2 for basically all combos for a little extra dmg

I use Kung Lao and Darius. First half of my combo does 14 hits and 2nd half does 16. It drains like ⅔ of their health if I hit it off
So for comboing after upblock, and in similar situations where you are punishing, doing b2 4 is optimal, can get 38% meterless no kameo
Idk if its very good but i like to use stand 3 the double hit has broken a lot of armored wake ups for me at least

Sonya is a good kameo for him, he can convert off his armor with her square wave.
You can armor through the b3 but I think Goro will eat it if you do the low version
you can armor no matter what even with goro coming out unless you call goro early to blow it up intentionally

I use her but Goro is better to lock people down and to get combos. The damage is similar though.
