+roblex63 Exactly why I hate this trend for putting all the controls on a touch screen. I dread to think what it will cost to replace if it packs up when the car is older! :-o
+soundseeker63 Not too far away in the near future all cars will be disposable at 10 years old. It's the only way for the manufacturer to keep turning high profits.
+z00h not yet on par, but definitely much much better now. Remember that review of megane for autoexpress? That was absolutely awful, but now he is genuinely good at reviewing cars.
+Dmitry L i agree 100% they did not do enough to warrent the price, take the ford sign and mondeo off and we might be on to something, not that i hate fords, i love fords focus RS hammer alot of german cars, in the corners, including m4 and m3
Badge and brand does matter when it comes to resale value, something a Ford doesn't have. There are better cars out there for that money, that hold resale value like honda, bmw and the likes..
0:54 _"Vignale was an Italian coachbuilder and made bodies for exotic sports cars for Ferrari, Maserati & Lancia now though, it's the name chosen for a posh Ford Mondeo"_ - Sounds *exactly* like _Ghia_ !!
Always wanted to see a review of this car when I heard about it. While Matt was better this guy still pretty much said what I needed to know about the car and that's all that really matters. I think he's all right and will probably improve with time. It is quite a nice car and I wouldn't complain if I owned one of these but I don't think I'd be so inclined to buy a new one in the first place either as it's easily in the price range of a Jaguar or BMW which is quite a tall order for something that's a flashy Mondeo; for example the BMW Saloon 518d SE is £31,115. Mind you I'd like to see a VS video or something to see if this car could go toe to toe with other luxury brands.
Horrible marketing idea, great way to maximise profits on a platform that's nearly 10 years though.. This current generation of Mondeos are awful to drive, wallows like fuck and doesn't have the turn in and sharpness of the outgoing car, don't care how big the boot is!
If described to me i would find the exterior changes ineffective, but looking at it i think they did the trick. I does look a lot more expensive than the regular, very good looking, Mondeo. I'll be damned. The economy worries me, but i think around 4K is a decent price to pay for what extras you get. I like the idea.
I wonder if they'll do a Fiesta Vignale? I think a poshed up fiesta would look pretty cool . . . it would give me something to aspire to!! (currently on a zetec trim 😳) Good review btw
When I was a kid playing in the street I had no fucking clue whatsoever what the Ghia logo said or how to pronounce it. Anyway, yes, it's actually a brand that people so understand.
you can see some Jaguar and Aston Martin heritage in the curves. Not knocking Ford for that, in fact I think they should be praised for it. Im going to buy one.
I've got a new Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost auto Titanium X Estate with all the kit on it this one has expect the sound deadening software. I get 33mpg easily, not the 26mpg he got here. The car rocks and the wife loves it. The car hasn't the V6 purr of my Mercedes, but it's more luxurious to drive. Only issue is strongly weighted electronic steering. The Ford is quieter, safer and rides well if you're not trying to be Lewis Hamilton setting a fast lap. Which is most people, most of the time. You get used to the touchscreen controls if you own it rather than try one for a day or two. Not as good as the BMW/Rolls Royce i-drive, (but better than Audi/VW) but hey, it's much better or as well equipped and at least 20 grand cheaper....
Honestly, I'm over his accent at this point, and turns out he isn't half bad at reviewing cars. In fact, i quite like this review in particular. Just give him a chance people.
The only reasons i'd choose this are: 1: It's distinctive, every bmw, audi, mercedes look exactly the same all the models so buying a premium luxury audi nobody will notice it over a cheap audi. 2: It's probably much cheaper regardless if it's a bit pricey for a mondeo, considering the germans charge fortunes for even the most basic options.
It's not that distinctive, it 99% people wouldn't distinguish it from any other Mondeo, which are very common as well. So it's better to forget about being different and just get a C-class/3-series/A4/XE or even top-spec Passat (which is, from my personal experience, much much better than a Mondeo already). And for the price of that Mondeo you can get a really well equipped Passat or Superb.
Dmitry L you can, but for example here there are barely any new mondeos because everyone gets a passat, but still all those german premiums look the same as their cheaper counterparts of the same brand, which is why i'd still go for this. However, this is only if i wanted to have a premium-luxury car, i'd just get a superb with that money.
+ShroomWalrus true. they look kind of similar, but they are so much more advanced because of the scale of production. Mondeo is basically a 2012 car, whereas B8 Passat is 100% new compared to B7. Same applies to the Superb (by the way, options for superb are cheaper than for the vignale). Also, interior quality and multimedia systems are on completely different level (although you can't get leather dashboard I shall admit). So I really see no point in buying this car, although it has some advantages (looks nice, enjoyable to drive etc).
I have one, a beautiful late model, low mileage estate, I had the Titanium X before this and there is a difference in spec even though mine has even more extras like AWD, it is a 2.0 diesel, plenty of power and great on fuel, I love it but then it's personal taste, plenty of Audi's, Mercedes and BMWs out there but not for me, like being different, they are quite rare and good ones don't come cheap
1:55 touch screen that froze? I find that for the top right Information quadrant you have to jab the bar on top. It doesn't respond to touch on the compass/quadrant body. Only the colored bar portion.
All those Vignale flourishes are the automotive equivalent of a pipe and slippers, no doubt it will find fans amongst company car drivers who are due to retire in a year or two. Vignale? Vanden Plas more like.
It's not the name for a posh Mondeo at all - it's the name for high versions of the S Max, Edge, Kuga and Mondeo. And no, the screen freezing is not a minor irritation it's a big problem

That said, the 3-Series and A4 are now so common, choosing this might actually be the "exclusive" option. That freezing touchscreen (silly gimmick) doesn't inspire confidence in the reliability however....
why all reviews still mention about fuel usage , as you say that promise is some and usage is another, has anyone find a car that actually does those mileages than manufacturers promise? could you do a test in reality that how hard it is to get fuel consumption to that level than it is to said to be ?
Why does Ford keep using established Carrozzeria names for their tarted up family cars? First it was a Ghia, and now a Vignale? What exactly happened to Ghia anyway
+Zero Sum Game Imagine the possibility you're dead wrong about this. Tesla got a really good review on Carbuyer, as for Cadillac, let me tell you, having driven one, it doesn't fall short in any way from the German competition. I was a huge fan of the E Class until I've driven the new CTS. It didn't blow my mind but surprisingly I did like it better than the Benz, it's not quite as comfortable but it feels significantly more nimble, especially the V Sport variant. The interior look more modern, the materials are just as nice, and I prefer its exterior design. Don't know what the 2017 E class is going to be like though.
Zero Sum Game wow, you've clearly never driven a Tesla. I own one, the the P85D. The normal one is crazy fast, but the P85D is downright scary, I've floored 850bhp C5 corvettes that almost made me shit my pants, but this one is actually even more terrifying, because it's so immediate. You buy one, and you can rest assured you're gonna be able to pull away from a stop faster than just about anything else on the road. It's fucking insane, I can't stress this enough. Granted, it has flaws, the range isn't that great, but I can charge it in about 30 minutes for FREE, and there are plenty of those stations here, so if you play it smart you can get plenty of range out of one. The interior is really modern and "airy", and it's almost completely silent. It's just as good as everyone says it is.
Zero Sum Game it's really funny how you assume I'm lying about owning a nice car just because I'm an anonymous guy on the internet. I could be lying, I could be telling the truth, you don't actually know, you can only assume. As for dry numbers, you can see for yourself if you Google it. Or here's a quickie: he P85D has almost 700 horses with both engines combined and it generates about as much torque, it's also 4 wheel drive and since it's an EV all of that power is immediate, it generates all of it at 0 speed. If you put it in Insane mode (Tesla's version of launch control) it goes from 0 - 60 in around 3 seconds. After getting used to that, most IC cars feel like they fucking stutter or lag or something, and it's not like I'm using Insane mode all the time, it's just naturally responsive and smooth. I won't even start talking about reliability because I have a feeling that this would turn into a loooooong conversation.
I don't understand why this presenter is being criticised. He’s very natural on camera, and gives honest and practical reviews
I know right! I'm so sick of everybody hating on him so much. I would like to see them try hard and work hard and then only get criticized and hated.
He's great. Like a reborn Quentin Wilson.
Technically, one of the best and most comprehensive Carbuyer reviews ever.
1:55 a touchscreen that froze ....BUT it's o.k the storage bin's are big......
Sarcasm.....!
+roblex63 Exactly why I hate this trend for putting all the controls on a touch screen.
I dread to think what it will cost to replace if it packs up when the car is older! :-o
+roblex63 Not expected of Ford.
+soundseeker63 Not too far away in the near future all cars will be disposable at 10 years old. It's the only way for the manufacturer to keep turning high profits.
Sync 3 will be a welcome change for sure!
this guy's not that bad tbh.
+minibus1351 he's getting better with every review which is understandable. Easily on par with Mat already.
+z00h
maybe not on par yet, but definitely getting better :)
+z00h not yet on par, but definitely much much better now. Remember that review of megane for autoexpress? That was absolutely awful, but now he is genuinely good at reviewing cars.
+z00h I concur
+William Green edit: kettle chips; he's got a good taste in crisps, which is a good sign
This was a genuinely great review. People bitched when that new woman came along a little while ago, but now people are absolutely fine with her...
+Jack Cooper yep then another woman came =))
I don't know what you lot are on about with your negative comments about this guy, I think he's pretty good. Was very informative.
Where's Matt?!
+Chrstian “Driver” mrclep he's just hosting beheading videos
+David Thomas He joined a new channel called 'Carwow'.
Look it up
+David Thomas He's in my basement wearing leather
Hes going to return with a review of the Focus RS
I like this guy.
Reminds me of Quinton Wilson.
+Ricco123tube With a touch of Tiff Nedell. I'm getting a strong 90's Top Gear vibe... and not in a good way.
where's mat????

He left and joined carwow

With the inevitable depreciation I can see these being a great used buy in a few years.
Some people just do not care about value and depreciation. They care about their own impulses and what they like and can they afford it in their mind.
Good for them, good for me too because I'll be the one who buys the car off them in a few years for cheap cheap ;-)
@@Zero_Ninety 4 years from this comment and I am thinking exactly the same. It is now on a massive discount.
Comment about the car instead of hating on this guy.. bunch of hateful children
A very sleek and good looking car indeed.
Nice Aston Martin Rapide
+tokekkk yeah how are aston marting getting away with blatantly copying fords design?
+tokekkk ford owns a little of aston martin and they can use their design if they like.
So basically "Vignale" is like "DS" for Citroen
yea
No DS is like Lexus for Toyota, they're 2 different brands.
Kayuki Shin But DS models were previuos Citroen models, but now rebudged.
+Ruben F Yep but starting with the next generation, DS will have its "new cars" :)
+Ruben F Citroen created its own brand DS, because there was demand for it.
The shock of Matts departure has been tough.. but I am warming to this guy..
Youu've greatly improved. You're actually a very good reviewer. i enjoy your videos, forget the haters.
I’ve got one and I love it
Good luck trying to spec a Audi , Mercedes or BMW with the same level of equipment
you wll be paying close to 40K +
Who in their right mind would buy one of these over an Audi/Merc/BMW/Jaguar? Madness!
Wow this guy is annoying to listen to. Bring Matt back, he does it best.
Go look up carwow and you will see him there
Honestly a beautiful car! Very stylish and comfy 🎉
Why do i even read the comments for Carbuyer videos anymore? Haters.
I miss the reviews when Matt & Rebeccas were working together :(
Really don't like the new James & Jenny duo :(
Batchelor really hitting it out the park with this one.
he basically said, the infotainment unit is shit, but hey at least there's storage for days.
Nice review. As for the car...
Look at Mondeo's interior. Now look at the one in C-class or the new A4. Yeah, Ford, sure...
+Dmitry L i agree 100% they did not do enough to warrent the price, take the ford sign and mondeo off and we might be on to something, not that i hate fords, i love fords focus RS hammer alot of german cars, in the corners, including m4 and m3
stop trying to get this guy fired..... he needs a job
0:15 There's no one more insecure and feeble than a badge snob.
Badge and brand does matter when it comes to resale value, something a Ford doesn't have. There are better cars out there for that money, that hold resale value like honda, bmw and the likes..
I love buttons! That lagging touch screens are so annoing and unpractical
Saw a 8yr old Mondeo advertised on ebay few weeks ago 415,000 miles £1300!! they must be comfortable!!!
The Vignale comes as a five-door hatchback,an estate and a four-door saloon!
RIP Mat
0:54 _"Vignale was an Italian coachbuilder and made bodies for exotic sports cars for Ferrari, Maserati & Lancia now though, it's the name chosen for a posh Ford Mondeo"_
- Sounds *exactly* like _Ghia_ !!
Vignale was bought by the owner of Ghia
I love this guy's sence of humour
Why is he driving around without any rear lights in such dark and rainy weather?
There is a big space in the center console for your sweets,a glovebox with a shelf, two cupholders and door bins that pass the Bottle Test!

Will the EcoSport Vignale feature wipers that aren't from the early 90s?
Sod this Vignale rubbish, bring the Ghia badge back!
+Kieran White I agree
***** I wish they'd never got rid of it. Titanium just doesn't sound as posh!

Jaguar XzzE hehe...
Interesting guy, still rather fascinated by the way he talks.
And I'm really intrigued by this Ford!
i remember when everyone hated Rebecca at the beggining , i even remember her first video , Renault Twingo , now everyone misses her

phew thank God it passed the car buyer bottle test
The guy that design this car used to work for Aston Martin, see the picture now👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😅
Mat we miss you please come back
1:55 touch screen that froze? I find that for the top right Information quadrant you have to jab the bar on top. It doesn't respond to touch on the compass/quadrant body. Only the colored bar portion.
The headlights and the grille looks just like the new Mustang :)
If Ford want to sell us a posh Mondeo, why don't they just sell us a Lincoln variant? I'm sure it would have better brand recognition than "Vignale".
I appreciate that he used candy for his storage test. He's honest!!! Lol also is Vignale coming to the USA and is Vignale a substitute for Lincoln??
Curious to know why you say its competitors are 3 series type when in fact this car is 5 series in size?
Why is this guy obsessed with space for water bottles?
I know
Is Vignale more similiar to DS series or more like top versions of other models like laurin&klement Super / Initiale Paris Talisman?
One thing's for sure, this Vignale will be a far rarer sight than the boring German trio
Is it a fair comparison to consider the XE and C class as same class? Shouldn't you be comparing it to the XF and E class instead?
We want Matt!
+hnS Do we?!
Where is my Mat ? Send this men to the "Job Centre "
I'd most definitely take this car over the others for a specific reason,I don't have to be faster than you to be more exclusive than you
oh God that boot still has the old hinge setup on it... look how much storage you loose either side of the rear wheel arch!
He reminds me of Will from the inbetweeners!
All those Vignale flourishes are the automotive equivalent of a pipe and slippers, no doubt it will find fans amongst company car drivers who are due to retire in a year or two. Vignale? Vanden Plas more like.
This car is underrated
Just when you think that names like Vignale and Ghia couldn't fall lower. Ford shows you that their bottom has a basement.
I enjoyed this Review of the Ford Mondeo Vignale saloon and I would recommend It
I like this guy he likes snacks and sweets
The other three just carry water bottles and bananas
It's not the name for a posh Mondeo at all - it's the name for high versions of the S Max, Edge, Kuga and Mondeo. And no, the screen freezing is not a minor irritation it's a big problem
Hmmm, I think the current Mondeo is pretty damn posh. Just jump in and feel all the nice soft touch plastics.
Where did they find this bloke the BLUE OYSTER BAR !!!??
Did you write the punchline in CAPITALS to make it extra hilarious?
Ford Fusion in North america
Why does the reviewer remind me of the scene from fast in furious in London of the posh Auction guy!
So basically, it's a Mondeo Ghia with added service augmentation!
props to him for trying but i'm always suspicious of anyone that calls a car a "handsome brute" XD
haters are losers..
great review mate, do not let people make you down..!!
I miss the Ghia badge!
What about the LTD 😋
I wonder what the residual values of this car will be like? Probably not great if other big Fords are anything to go by.

Yes, I know.
Mr Bean obviously did a runner on the Mini and is now reviewing not posh Fords .
I am about to unsubscribe. Seriously, this guy is horrible.
Then unsubscribe. Bye.
+kronoss897 GOOD bye
I just did, because I found Mat. I stuck around here thinking he would be back, but now that I know he is not ... all bets are off.
Play nice girls.

Well done for pronouncing Vignale correctly, the Italian way.... :-)
