Hay I agree with you it's a fantastic renovation of a Winnebago Indian . I commented to my wife about how they were bricks with wheels. But the paint on the exterior is the cherry on top. Now when everyone else restores their own classic 1974 Winnebago Indian they can paint it whatever color they like the owner of this classic did as he chose to do so Bravo to him.
Nice renovation, but why do motorhome makers these days still insist on these awful tribal zig zag paint schemes that are reminiscent of a bad tattoo from the 90s?
+Ande As an ex-painter.... what else are you going to use to break up such a large surface area? Normal pinstripes gets busy and dizzy. Plain is just... well plain. Characters are childish. Sayings become advertising. So whats left? Painters spend long nights seeking that "new", but as you see, whats new?
I just think if the add the original logo with two tone paint job it would look better and different to any rv I'm saying white on top and red on the bottom

Not a thing wrong with this restoration. From first sight it speaks Winnebago. With all the modernization they kept the character. Beautiful ride. The 70's were fun but this ride is way more fun. Great job!
This renovation is INSANE ... Bravo! The interior is incredible. I'd have to agree with a few comments and I would have gone with a more retro look for the exterior. I also don't care much for the excessive and gaudy exterior paint jobs on today's RVs. I think about the cleaner look that Bluebird used to put on their Wanderlodges as an example of classier and cleaner looking exterior paint designs.

For old school It is kick ass because now it looks like new school I take my hat off to you That is 1 awesome job that you did.. very cool! my first class A was a 1976 26' Overland i did a lot of restoration on that coach to make it safe to be able to run it down the road and keep it from derogating. i loved that old thing and it gave us many adventurers ill never forget it as some fun times were had with our family with it back then...

Anytime some1 does a custom job, there are going to be some that don't like it, or many that don't like certain aspects of it. There are some things that I probably would've done differently. But I still think that it turned out pretty bad ass.
Everyone can restore a original one, but no one modernized one inside and out, so this was a unique project alright! And i love how those old ones look on the outside, but the old interiors are mostly shot and way too primitive for the modern family, and i hate those thick carpets because they are impossible to clean, and can gather alot of dust and therefor dust mites, fungi and bacteria, so that is what i would throw out first and have a nice and smooth floor that is easy to clean because you make alot of miles on those few sqft, so it needs alot of cleaning.
You guys did a great job, really sweet. My dream has been to find a 1970 Unger Crown Commander like the one we had years ago. My dad, and I did so much work on it (it was in great shape, low miles) but we made it better than it was. I want to do a custom re do sort of like what you did here but, it takes money. Great job !!!! Ignore all the negativity ! lot's of armchair critics , many of them couldn't change a tire . What I'm seeing is a high level of craftsmanship applied to a classic motorhome . I'd love to own it.
I wish I could say that I like the slide-out that was installed on this one. If I were to buy a classic Winnie, I would've upgraded it with everything one could, except for slide-outs. It would make an already complex vehicle even more so.
This turned out so BEAUTIFUL... Love it... .... note.... the "Movement" of your LOGO in the bottom right had corner is distracting and unnecessary ... I watched that more than the video LOL
What this displays is the capability of the shop.. If it was like the original we would not have over 100,000 likes and two Mag Publications.. and over 200,000 tours.. While traveling in 2015 nearly 30,000 miles Everybody gives a thumbs up and in Sturgus SD Bike week in 2014 it was also a hit. I will guarantee you it this coach was in a drawing.. everyone would be willing to take it off my hands and continue to drive and camp in it as proudly as I do.. Next tour stop will be at FMCA in Perry GA.. March 18 to the 20. See you there!
Nice, most people just treat these things like garbage. You can get them for next to nothing, but at the price of new, a lot of renos can go in, and the advantage is a motor you can fix yourself, true freedom
May i ask what size rims and tires you converted to? I’m looking to do the same on 75 Brave that currently has 8r17.5 tires which are impossible to find
No doubt this was an incredible complete restoration inside and out ... I personally would’ve gone with a more retro restoration on the interior and the exterior ... by all means keeping the W ... modernize the interior ... including the slides ... but still keep a retro interior look ... The polish rims are also a very good touch.
Original motor had 23,000 miles on it.. It is a 440 RB motor.. We not only rebuilt the original motor.. Bearings,Seals,gaskets, Rings, 440 source alum heads, and headers, Edelbrock fuel injection system with MSD electronic Ignition.. High output alternator and more.
It depends on the RV/Coach brand and length of slide-out due to different types of construction.. They start at 12k each - MasterTech Did all the Work and design in its entirety.
Too bad that wasn't thought of back in the 70's.I bought one of these Winnebago"74" Brave for $800 back in 2004; the same size as the one on this video. Amazing what you can do when can turn your vision into reality.

I have a 78 brave with 62 k on her waiting a rebuild (as soon as I get a shop) never thought about slide outs but am now TY. any plans and or drawings of this while being done? We plan on spending out winters down south in her so any info that way would be a huge help.
Wow unbelievably impressive! you need better semi-truck chrome bumpers though and more of an European interior like those Sprinter RV's to really look modern to throw off anyone suspecting it's a retro design but I'm assuming this style is what was preferred. Absolutely love the wide slide outs and how about the engine?! Paint looks great on its own but overly and unmatching to the vintage body style. Probably want to paint those cool 50's retro paint schemes like what NASCAR recently had done with the 70's retro look. Roof solar panels is a must with an inverter system. If I had unlimited funds, I would like something very similar to this restoration for my 23' Vintage Chevy Allegro. You are the Chip Foose of RV customization!!! Fucken awesome!
I love the way you modernized it inside and out. I've never been a big fan of the older Winnebagos because they always looked old and outdated..... But I have to admit, you pulled off a pretty awesome renovation and custom improvement job on this particular coach.

Although I've never been a fan of Winnebago RVs of the 60s and 70s, I like how you've taken what I've always called the ugly duckling of RVs and made a beautiful swan. :)
Is it safe to drive with your slides out? We were always told it would damage our frame if the slides were out and the jacks were down, let alone moving it? By the way the reno is amazing... Wish I could hire you to fix the few things that bother me about our RV. Thanks for posting this to show us an oldie can still be a goodie.
That is beautiful! We have a 72 m300, you want to do ours next? Do you know where we could pick up wiring harness? Previous owners have this all screwed up. I have diagram but its not helping. We are constantly draining batteries can't find short. We are living in it at the time as its all we have left with recent health and work issues. I saw completed restore and yelled im jealous. Lol

Already had a overdrive and a Edelbrock fuel injection system.. We will be now adding a 48v lithium battery system and Charging system, Serpentine belt, and hydroboost brakes with our rear Disc brake upgrade for Dodge chassis.
Rebuilt original motor only had 65k on it.. Since the motor is the Big block 440 Police engine.. We added Alum Heads.. EFI.. Headers.. High output alternator and every other high performance part we could. Just when ya all thought I am Crazy.. I am in the process of installing rear Disc brakes..Hydroboost power brakes Victron Inverter and touchscreens, 360 Camera system.. Side collision avoidance detection system.. Serpentine belt system.. a 51v 16,128 watt hour Lithium Battery system..
Wow all that work is exactly what I'm wanting to do other then that paint job how much cheaper was this then buying a finished one looks like you have alot of money tied up in this but if I did the work my self I'd think the price would be considerably lower

Yes, great restoration other than the paint. A modern RV paint job on an old RV doesn't work, a retro one does.
