Had this game comes out before Dragon Ball FighterZ, Guilty Gear Strive, and KOFXIII: Global Match then I would definitely buy it for Switch but as it is now and coming out at a time when these fighting games as well as the superior Capcom Fighting Collections of games already had their mark it's really difficult for me to recommend getting this especially for that $40 price tag when you could just get the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection for just $50.
This game's biggest problem on release was its price. £35 for an unproven indie title is way too ambitious. If you want to establish a new fanbase, you have to entice gamers in, and with so many AAA titles on sale, it's a pretty hard sell!
It's $40 so don't complain if it doesn't meet your standard. That's the same price as the Capcom Fighting Collection and $10 less than the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection.
@@VOAN I'm fully prepared to be a little bit disappointed, but I love this art style and simplicity to gameplay so much that I just have to have it :D Besides if it's a smaller dev, ''waiting on a better version'' won't happen if nobody supports them. Think of it like a kickstarter :D
It's always good to have more fighting game variety. I know Blazing Strike was kinda in development hell and they even struggled promoting the game, but I'm still rooting for it. An indie dev made a third strike inspired fighter with an interesting combo system, hell yes. Whether the game can compete with SF6 or T8 isn't what we should worry about. Those games are guaranteed a large player base even if they were bad. And we have more resources to find players who play similar games. The main priority should be refining this type of game that died after SF4.
I have the limited edition physical copy of this game for PS4, costing me roughly $61! I like the package that it comes with (Character trading cards, art book, soundtrack cd, and the actual game) and Graffi is my main. I like the music, roster, and stages, but my only gripe is this: Online doesn't currently work. Also, they need to add a second super to each character's moveset. With some patches and rework, 🔥Blazing Strike could possibly earn its way to the circle of memorable classics!
I'm sure ThirdStrike got a lot of the similar criticisms this reviewer laid out when it came out. I'm definetely going to pick this up when it comes out! (also i actually like the announcers voice this review is tripping!)
Third Strike and Street Fighter III as a whole was going to be a whole new fighting game. It was going to be the first Street Fighter game without Ryu and Ken then fans outcry and they were added back in. The original SFIII was going to have only 10 fighters: Alex, Dudley, Elena, Ibuki, Necro, Oro, Sean, Hugo, Yun, and Yang. When Ryu and Ken were added back, Hugo was cut and Yang became a palette swap. In SFIII 2nd Impact Hugo was finally added back in and Yang became his own character.
You have to walk before you run. I feel that all the right things are there for this game to be successful. I'm a lover of Fighting games and this looks like it has potential. The fact that it was developed by a small team in Rare Breed is also taken into account. I think it looks great. Can't wait to play it

It's a solid review. However, comparing every game to the "fighting game elite" is unnecessary, since those companies have had years to perfect their craft. Everything else seems reasonable. Ultimately, the success of this title will hinge entirely on its fan base.
Fair, but I do think it is worth noting as modern releases are basically always expected to have Rollback and ideally have crossplay since the single player offerings rarely have legs and local multiplayer is sadly niche. It is a really competitive market from all sides... "Elites" on sale, cheaper indies, classic games for free, classic games in collections... We will see if the game rises like Sonic the Fighters or ends up a curiosity for JMCrofts in the next decade, but Frosty Faustings may be a preview even if it may get patches or improve.
