The S is good for ashes but where it and other similar weapons do the best is ng+ levels with 60+ str and 60+ faith on flame art. Watchdogs specifically getting better than even the other str S's at C str and B faith. The lack of flaming strike for the buff does lower it a bit on the list in that context but it's still good.
s means nothing if the base damage is low. the greatsword is just better in everyway. at no amont of strength does the watchdog do more then the greatsword

Lol jumping, crouching, and rolling attacks exist, otherwise I'd agree.
But simple fact is, ignoring pvp where those are op af, in pve those attacks also overshadow stuff like r2s. Even good r2s like zweihanders and claymores.

@@Iso20227ye not really,as far as i know you cant cast the ash of war if the requirements are not met so those should be covered at all Times already so only thing it gives is +5 vigor,mind, and endurance that dont do much in late game, ash only lasts 1 Minute and i think deactivates when you put the sword away so its basically useless+ the sword is not that good
@@ibimsdeutsch77 it adds five points to all of your attributes for 1 minute. It also boosts poise for 5 seconds, and I don’t think the buff deactivates if you switch weapons.
The damage isn’t outstanding, but 5 points for everything, even if only briefly, is still really good early to mid-game.
Whereas Zweihander is a good sword with good damage, a good move-set, and infusible with ashes of war.
Zweihander definitely wins, but Grafted Greatsword is definitely underrated.

Grafted greatsword is pretty good. It doesn’t have a flashy art but it gives you a quick buff of 5 to all stats? That’s pretty huge.
I never played elden ring (I don't have it YET) but I have played MH:W and iceborne and the Grafted Blade Greatsword kinda looks like a nergigante GS

It's got a long very noticeable windup.
Leaves you open to give the opponent a free hit if you misjudge the timing or distance.
And pretty easy to avoid both the jump attack and the explosion in pvp.(At least in my times going against it)
@@davidfalloutbandit You need to set it up by causing them top panic roll. Also note they spacing you can dodge most attack during the animation as well a the hyper armor in it will throw off a lot off people.
Personally a cold infused Zweihander with giant hunt was what I found to be the best over all.

@@SmokesKwazukii I did beat the game with it. It took some time to get used to it since I'm a mage player at heart and when I dabble in melee, I usually go for fast options, but eventually I learned the punish windows and finished the game with it.
I did cheese the hell out of Malenia with Prelate's Charge though. I refuse to do that boss normally.

It has very low weight and stat requirements, swappable AoW/affinity, second best in class for range, the only poke R2, and very good speed. Its versatility and overall performance make it objectively the best UGS

And it's a rememberance weapon being wielded by one of the coolest characters in the game. That aside, two-handing it gives you two of them. I can see why he'd like it more. Zweihander might be better mechanically but, the moveset is boring which is what I noticed on the list. He chose the one's with cooler movesets which explains why two of them are rememberance weapons and one is a special weapon.

You can get something pretty close to that sword by putting the right ash of war on the right sword in Elden Ring
I played a Quality build recent and the Zweihander puts in a lot of the same work the GUGS is good for in PVE, just lighter and a bit less range. It’s a very solid weapon.
The zweihander is amazing, especially if you don’t have requirements for the greatsword. But with braggarts roar, Gugs becomes the best

Zwei Is good, but guts sword has the same moveset, more damage, i think more poise damage too and it's free
Also gut sword is free and you can get it since the beginning of the game but zweihander cost 20k souls (runes, i know I know, it will be souls for me no matter what)
@donpablacho400 they don't have the same moveset (gugs has a heavy swing zwei has a heavy thrust). Gugs is also longer. And zwei doesn't cost 20K runes, it's costs 3,500 which is beyond easy to get.

@@everettphelps9678Its ash of war does a minimum of 10 percentage of the enemy's health no matter what which is amazing and considering its a colossal sword is means it can shred through low health enemies anyways

You only need 19 strength to wield the zweihander. Less if you two hand it. I think that makes it incredibly good for builds that don't want pure strength. It's also incredibly easy to obtain.
