The best way I understood it was comparing it to RuneScape. It’s an open game for you to level up. You’re meant to explore your immediate surroundings to level up, loot, etc., and keep branching out further and further. You’ll start to catch on to what areas are harder and out of your current level, as well as bosses. That way you can turn back around and “finish” the easier area to keep progressing

Had no idea what to do and didn't know what was what, didn't follow a guide or anything. I actually ended up playing as a battlemage type character because I liked the ranged battles while learning the gameplay. Once I got Torrent, I rode everywhere because I wanted to find maps and be able to see the whole area I was in. That made the gameplay a little easier. I finished my first playthrough, and after going back for a new character, I realized I missed a ton of stuff that I could have done in my first run to make things easier. I have started to follow a few content creators for guides on gameplay and that helps a ton. I hope you continue your journey here and find something that works for you.
I'm guessing the Dragon's rotten breath incantation gets around some of the issues that bleed builds run into later in the game. I'm definitely going to try out the holy warrior build on my run, faith based magic in combination with a reach weapon sounds right up my alley!
Thank you so much, dude! Recently got Elden Ring and started a Samurai Build, yet I got attacked by a Dragon that swooped down on me while heading to Dragon Ruins just exploring. I gave up, then came back and created another Colossal Knight Build, so I’ve been bouncing back and forth, but found the Samurai to be the best so far. I’ve been struggling looking at different build techniques on IGN, etc. and almost gave up until I came across this video. Much appreciated! You nailed every detail and location! Will start grinding and building up for the Bloodflame Samurai.
Alright! Well, so far I have followed your guide and have obtained the Nagakiba, green turtle talisman, land of reeds armor, blood flame incantation, flame grant me strength, assassin’s crimson dagger, 5 flasks of crimson tears, 2 flasks of cerulean tears, etc. I’m digging it right now, but still have a long way to go to level up my attributes etc. My only problem is finding all of the bell bearings so that I can purchase the smithing stones needed to upgrade my nagakiba. Other than that, this build is pretty wicked, and I thank you for your guidance! Level 59 now, and going up. Wish me luck!
@@xNsAyNe0981xvery nice! Yeah, getting the bell bearings is the annoying part but on the plus side, once you obtain all of them, you can buy an infinite amount of smithing stones in new game plus 👍
By the way, a buddy of mine mentioned a Dragon Samurai build but said that you’d have to collect dragon hearts and level up faith and arcane. I’d love to see you cover something like that in your videos! Keep doing what you do! 👍🏼
As someone who just bought the game and hasnt started it yet, i feel like the Gravity sorcerer is gonna be the least amount of struggle for a beginner due to the range and not needing to dodge or parry as much. It also has the cleanest look and i love that theres a melee option in emergencies. Hope theres an endgame version 😅
Tip if you choose the mage build - get either your summons or the meteorite staff before you fight the pumpkin head boss… wasted an hour fighting him ngl
5:52 he didn’t mention, use a good picked foot right before you kill it. You have 3 min once it’s activated. Meaning once you kill you’ll get good 30-40% more runes after killing it
@@ColdBwoyy Gotcha. I got it later by Googling how to use Ashes of War. But upgrading the weapon to level 9; that takes Smithing Stones. But you don't say anything about it. It's not really a "beginner" guide, more like a redline idea and Google the rest.
@@ColdBwoyy Yes. When I fight Margit the fell of omen. How come when I use one of my summons, I can't use any of my incantations? It gets grayed out for me
If your going with the bloodflame one, another good talisman that may atleast require level 50-70 unless your good and can do 30-40, you can go to the first minor erdtree in caelid to get a scorpion charm, it basically a infinite Flame, Grant Me Strength Incantation just with a minor Armor negation took away. greatly recommend it helped me through my recent playthrough.
I just started playing again and made 3 separate builds to see which is easier/user friendly. Honestly just watch any TitusActual OP early guide (for example). 1.Int/str with that carian knight sword and whatever sorceries + jellyfish shieldan block counters. 2.Arcane/fth regalia of eochaid + dragon communion seal upgraded. Guard counters and whatever faith spells you want. 1.Fth/Str rush to get lightning spear, erd tree seal, +12 upgrade bellbearings and jellyfish for guard counters etc
New player here. He mentions in the Samurai portion that he uses Double Slash on his sword. Why earlier in the video does he mention Bloody Slash and Impaling Thrust? You can't use more than one on a weapon or can you?
I always love playing as a mage in rpgs so this video helped a lot since this is my first souls game! However, I was wondering if Moonveil is a nice alternative since I like using different weapons sometimes.
Please note: with the elder dragon, you can kill the 4 baby drags and reset, 13k~ runes in less than 3 minutes from 4 baby drags, you ONLY kill the 4 and then site of grace rinse and repeat. its also faster to take the site of grace by the dragon on the bridge and farm both sides of the bridge and reset. 12K runes per cycle, less than 3 minute cycle, dragons are easy as ranged, the mobs by bridge is easy for melee
FYI- At the Castle Morne Rampart the is a cart with a chest where you can loot the Morning Star which is a blood weapon that you can wield 2 handed with like 8 strength so you dont need to waste levels on Dex for the flail. 👍
With the holy warrior build, what weapons should I use mid to late game or should I keep the same one? also, what incantations should I use mid to late game?
The Blasphemous Blade that you get for killing Rykard at the Valcano Manor is the weapon to go for 💪🏼 you already have the best incantations to use for DPS. Golden vow would be great for added defense too.
You can also get a stone sword key at the storm end shack site of grace (same place as the jellyfish summon) for free if you didn't pick it as your starting item because you forgot like me!
@@ColdBwoyy Hi, do you have any videos explaining how to use incantations and ash of wars? Im new and I dont know how to apply them to the character or weapons
@@kevinsampallo4916 I don’t have a video, but I will try my best to explain here. In order to cast an incantation, you will need a seal. You’ll find about a dozen of these throughout your play through, but the cheapest and most basic one can be purchased from the twin maiden husks at the round table hold. You’ll need to rest at a site of grace, go to memorize spell and equip the incantations you would like to use. Just remember that certain incantations require specific attributes. Once you have a seal, equip it in your left hand and you’ll be able to cast your incantations. Ashes of war are found all throughout the game. To equip an ash of war to your weapon, rest at a site of grace and scroll down to ashes of war. After applying an ash of war to your right hand weapon, you’ll be able to activate it by pressing L2/LT on your controller. Hope this helps!

Don’t forget to mention that if you quickly kill the dragon and go to the Gracepoint and rest, you can get the ruins and the dragon will still be there very important, but it has to be quick as soon as you kill it as soon as you see that flinch immediately dash to the rest point rest and you’ll get youralso try to make sure you have the golden scarab to get a 20%
hi bro, nice video btw! my question is, what is the website of the map you're using, the one that displays ashes of war on the map ( 3:44), thanks in advance!
I have a question for the dex nagakiba build which talismans will you get after? Are Lord of bloods exultation,Shard of Alexander,Green turtle talisman and winged sword insignia a good idea? And which tears for the flask later i thought about a build with thorny cracked tear and greenburst crystal tear or flame shrouding cracked tear. Which would be better? And wouldnt bloodflame blade get better with the oil tear thingy?
I’ll be honest, in my two playthroughs, killing Old Greyoll the old fashioned way (killing the baby dragons first, thereby reducing his health to 0) is A) much faster and B) much more fun. With Rock Sling already in your inventory, you have the best anti-dragon spell and give or take a couple extra levels before doing it, it’s a way more enjoyable and epic experience. I’d recommend doing that over spending 20+ minutes whacking his tail.
I've started a new INT run, but I use Uchigatana instead of Carian Knight Sword. I have both but Uchigatana does more damage overall and can cause blood loss. Also, the Radagon Soreseal is a good option for damage initially. Just rush to the end of Fort Faroth to get yours! :D Great video!
on the faith one you can get black flame blade and speed up killing Greyoll... also on the last hit if you get on torrent and run back to the site of grace you can receive 50k per kill rather than just 100k once, unless they plan to patch this out with the dlc, if so its still active in current patch
Thanks so much that was helpfull, i beginning with the holy warrior build. I have one question, i find a memory stone , but i have only 3 slot for spells you why have 4? And 1 have only 1 slot for talisman Thx
You can find more memory slots as you play the game. Also, as you progress through the story and kill the main story bosses, you will unlock more talisman slots 👍

What armour should you strive for with the warrior faith build? Or do you keep the same? As someone with little time ive managed to get all the items this afternoon and im having a blast!
Gosh, I wish someone would make videos for what to do when you actually just start the game. I just got access to leveling up and I've been looking for videos on what to do starting now. All these build videos kind of assume you've already leveled up a LOT.
You dont need to pick stoneword key as starting item or buy one, there is one to pick up for free at the beginnimg of the game outside the shack where you get the Jellyfish.
I believe last patch they had made it so you dont stack bleed build up, dual weilding wont double it you will only stack as if one weapon is hittinf im pretty sure
can you suggest a next step for these builds? i completed the sorcerer one and wondering what kind of improvements I can add after this or maybe if it is able to transition to an even better build
Are stats not important? Or are they gained through items? I haven't played yet. The game is downloading. This video has me excited about the gravity sorcerer.
Bloodflame looks so good however will it really be efficient in the later game? Like, if I'm already using a bleed build(Nagakiba + uchi) and putting my points in arcane, wouldn't it be more powerful on the long run? Like, is it really worth putting those 7 points in faith(since we starts with 8) when I can invest them in Arcane? Thoughts?

Keep at it, it's a really awesome game
Dude this video has been what my whole game has been revolving around and its worked wonders. Tysm for the guide
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏻
As someone who just bought the game and hasnt started it yet, i feel like the Gravity sorcerer is gonna be the least amount of struggle for a beginner due to the range and not needing to dodge or parry as much. It also has the cleanest look and i love that theres a melee option in emergencies. Hope theres an endgame version 😅
If you watch my spellblade sorcerer build video, it’s an end game version of the gravity sorcerer 👍
@@ColdBwoyy thank you 😊 🙏
Dude i just come back on Elden Ring to give it a chance and you're build are really PERFECT, that's great work !
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏻
Watching all these after 5 years have me miss playinn the game for the first time
Such an incredible game
Tip if you choose the mage build - get either your summons or the meteorite staff before you fight the pumpkin head boss… wasted an hour fighting him ngl
Bro i started the game yesterday it took me 4 hours for the samourai build but thank you
Thank you for the video!! Going to try out the samurai build. I haven’t played Souls in ages.
Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
Meteor staff was fixed. It now requires a massive amount of int to get its damage. The gravity spells now hit like wet noodles.
It’s a good staff and spell for early game. Will need to be changed for mid-end game
@@ColdBwoyyso what do we swap it for now? I’m so new to this game
@@Speyeder121any luck finding anything?
@@Speyeder121carian regal scepter main hand, staff of loss offhand when casting night comet, meteor staff offhand when casting gravity spells
5:52 he didn’t mention, use a good picked foot right before you kill it. You have 3 min once it’s activated. Meaning once you kill you’ll get good 30-40% more runes after killing it
I ended up making a faith/int/strength build and it’s pretty fun being able to use both incantations and sorcery
Did the blood fang samurai. I'm just deciding on what one to do next.
Great video, by the way. Professional done, in my opinion.
I haven't played in a while, but the fact that the sleeping dragon still works is amazing lmfao
Right? 😂
I'm trying out a magic build for the first time. This should be a good start. Thanks :)
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@ColdBwoyywhy does my faith weapon not light like yours
Great guide, but the small things you forgot, like how to get a Whetstone Knife to actually apply an Ash of War.
I think I just naturally got it don’t remember needing to grab it
@@ColdBwoyy Gotcha. I got it later by Googling how to use Ashes of War. But upgrading the weapon to level 9; that takes Smithing Stones. But you don't say anything about it. It's not really a "beginner" guide, more like a redline idea and Google the rest.
I just got the sorcerer's build done. Im really looking forward to try him out
Thanks
Iam a beginner at this gam and this is the best video guide I've watched
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 glad I could help
U have my sub. I love how much detail u put in the video
While you're getting double slash get the "Redmane" painting, then get rain of arrows, it will be amazing to have on your bow.
Thanks for another brilliant Video.Cheers! Thanks for sharing.Total respect bro.
My man!
I just started playing this game for the first time 3 days ago, and this video really helped me get sorta started
That’s great! Did you have any questions?
@@ColdBwoyy Yes. When I fight Margit the fell of omen. How come when I use one of my summons, I can't use any of my incantations? It gets grayed out for me
@@ScorpionWagbecause you ran out of focus points. You need to drink an FP flask.
4:00 shooting the scarab from this location didn't work for me, but I don't have the same bow maybe that's the reason
My bro u explained so clearly respect to u ma man don't take the negativity though seriously
Thank you brother 🙏🏻
New player here. He mentions in the Samurai portion that he uses Double Slash on his sword. Why earlier in the video does he mention Bloody Slash and Impaling Thrust? You can't use more than one on a weapon or can you?
Bloody slash and impaling thrust are good ashes of war to use before you get double slash
@@ColdBwoyy thank you!
Ohhhhh man. The first 2 are brutal. Intelligence is fvckin' awesome
You're editing is really good, well presented. Good job
Thank you very much! I appreciate you taking the time to comment 🙏🏻

@@TOBY-jy7bz my point exactly! thanks 🤗
I always love playing as a mage in rpgs so this video helped a lot since this is my first souls game! However, I was wondering if Moonveil is a nice alternative since I like using different weapons sometimes.
Yes the Moonveil is a great weapon 👍
Appreciate the walkthrough bro def gonna grind for blood flame
Let me know if you have any questions! Thank you so much for watching
I just started my souls journey an your a big help g I appreciate it 🙏🏾💯
Glad I could help!
Just wanted to say that your Bloodflame Samurai build plus a bunch of changes helped me beat Malenia and Mohg Lord of Blood!
Job well done 💪🏼 thanks for commenting 😎
Bro u used bloodhound fang as a samurai to beat both? Am just stuck with Loretta just before Milenia. Is samurai build good?? Am having same build..samurai with bloodhound fang..
@@bobby19859 I used the nagakiba in my right hand and the uchikatana in my lh. Buff with flame grant me strength and golden vow and make sure both weapons are keen. If you are having trouble i would put nagakiba in lh and find the RoB and put that in rh and make sure to have decent arcane and dex
Just search Elden Ring interactive map on google. I believe it’s the IGN one 👍
@@ColdBwoyy thank you so much bro!
Yeah that sorc build got me looking out for an Elden ring sale
I’ve been struggle trying to play this game blind. Now I’m definitely gonna have to use the holy warrior build
Let me know how it works out for you!
Thank bro I went with bloodflame build. It looks so badass
Glad I could help!
This video was extremely helpful man thank you!
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I've started a new INT run, but I use Uchigatana instead of Carian Knight Sword. I have both but Uchigatana does more damage overall and can cause blood loss.
Also, the Radagon Soreseal is a good option for damage initially. Just rush to the end of Fort Faroth to get yours! :D
Great video!
Thanks Henrique 🙏🏻
S-tier build guide. Thank you my guy.
Thanks for watching!
on the faith one you can get black flame blade and speed up killing Greyoll... also on the last hit if you get on torrent and run back to the site of grace you can receive 50k per kill rather than just 100k once, unless they plan to patch this out with the dlc, if so its still active in current patch
Also the Radagon soreseal in the fort right near Greyoll
I'm lost lol need a video for each haha - starting ER today first time
Thank you so much for the video. I just started elden ring and it helped a lot
I’m glad I could help! Which build are you most interested in?
@@ColdBwoyynot op but gravity mage because I'm too scaredy cat to fight up close with melee lol
u can buy flame sling right away from the brother u took the book to right away with no book required btw
One doesn't need the fire monk incantation tome to get the flame sling, its sold by default by Brother Corhyn as soon one enters roundtable hall...
I just started, i followed the mage guide. Having fun slashing and slinging spells everywhere. Instead of getting steamed rolled like before.
Glad to hear that!
This video was done very well. Great info! Keep it up!
Thanks Anthony 🙏🏻
@@ColdBwoyyCan you pls explain why I can’t use any of my spells
For the gravity sorcerer, use misericorde with magic afinity. And hit the crits with it
Thanks so much that was helpfull, i beginning with the holy warrior build. I have one question, i find a memory stone , but i have only 3 slot for spells you why have 4? And 1 have only 1 slot for talisman
Thx
You can find more memory slots as you play the game. Also, as you progress through the story and kill the main story bosses, you will unlock more talisman slots 👍
@@ColdBwoyy and what about leveling, which is best method first time leveling dex or faith? I pickd up everithing what is is in your video, today i starting the " normal gameplay" i have now 18 dex, 22fth. What is the normal max Dex 50 / FTH 50 or what is the best method ?
I am beginner
thanks 4 answer
Thanks man... I finished game many times and now the dlc but missed do many side quests. Now I will make a fresh start and wont be going up then 150lvl. These builds seem solid enough ❤
Used so many dex and faith builds, so int my way to go!
Great video and really professional adding the location and gameplay of the builds. I’m about to start my journey into Elden Ring and this video really helped me a lot deciding what choices I have to make early game . Just one question if anyone can help me answer it because I don’t really know what is the best option to choose at the very beginning if the golden seed to craft later on healt potions or the key you need to open some places like the turtle talisman. Thanks for the early help and greets from Mexico 🇲🇽
I would do the golden seed just because the stone sword key can be purchased from the twin maiden husks at the round table hold
I went to that exact location for the teardrop scarab at 4:00 but couldnt find it halp please
Gr8 video it’s my fault for not knowing what’s going on but I made it work got the build bout to run through the game I’m hype
What armour should you strive for with the warrior faith build? Or do you keep the same? As someone with little time ive managed to get all the items this afternoon and im having a blast!
Any armor you can wear will work! Just remember to increase your endurance overtime if you plan on using heavier armor for protection
Gosh, I wish someone would make videos for what to do when you actually just start the game. I just got access to leveling up and I've been looking for videos on what to do starting now. All these build videos kind of assume you've already leveled up a LOT.
hehe gravity sorcerer is carrying me rn thank you ❤
You’re welcome 🙏🏻
Thank you!
BB music behind ❤ awesome build thanks for your good work!
Bloodborne nostalgia 🔥 thank you so much for watching 🙏🏻
You dont need to pick stoneword key as starting item or buy one, there is one to pick up for free at the beginnimg of the game outside the shack where you get the Jellyfish.
I believe last patch they had made it so you dont stack bleed build up, dual weilding wont double it you will only stack as if one weapon is hittinf im pretty sure
Great video!! Instant sub 3 minutes into this video, great job explaining everything, look forward to more of your videos.
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed 🙏🏻
can you suggest a next step for these builds? i completed the sorcerer one and wondering what kind of improvements I can add after this or maybe if it is able to transition to an even better build
absolutely love this video and how simply but helpfully you explain everything. immediately saved
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🙏🏻
@@ColdBwoyy np!! it was super helpful esp because im very new lmao 😭
Are stats not important? Or are they gained through items? I haven't played yet. The game is downloading. This video has me excited about the gravity sorcerer.
You use runes to level up your stats!
@@ColdBwoyy thank you!
Which build is easier to get and used?
The blood samurai is the most traditional one, and probably the best one.
That katana is one the very best base game weapons too.
Thoughts?
I think what you have will work great 👍
